Subject prefers quiet, dark surroundings vs. those of his friend, Iris. Bright colors and lights harm him badly. Because of this he absorbs all light in the vicinity, leaving the area pure black. This can cause issues with those without night vision. However, light [in the form of the visible color spectrum only] tends to seep out of subjects body once absorbed.

Despite the fact that darkness is usually considered "evil", subject is friendly and rarely causes problems.
