The citizens of Arün never thought their king and queen would be able to conceive a single child, as having tried before and resulting in failure. They eventually had Laverne, the first child to King Valka and Queen Moria and the crowned prince of Arün. He created opportunity for his parents, giving them an heir, they didn't have to worry about the future of the kingdom anymore. He lived his life peacefully with his parents, being taught everything he'd need to know about how to be a great ruler by his father, until Valka told him that his mother was pregnant with another child. This was around the time Laverne was halfway to maturity (50 years), said child was also a boy, their parents named him Jericho. Jericho and Laverne grew up together in somewhat harmony. The boys' massive age gap was hurtful because Laverne and Jericho didn't bond over anything as Laverne was learning advanced archery tactics while Jericho was learning how to walk. 

Around the time Jericho reached half maturity and Laverne reaching adulthood, Moria took a long trip to visit her family, across the sea in the western hemisphere of the world (she also came from a long line of elven royalty). In this time, Valka became incredibly drunk and had intimate relations with a stranger, who eventually gave birth to Valka's third child and Jericho and Laverne's younger half sister, Khaleesi. Moria only found out after Khaleesi's birth, she became furious with her husband. Khaleesi's mother found out that the man she'd slept with was married and left her daughter in her father's care, disappearing without a trace. To this day, nobody is sure what became of her. Valka refused to abandon his child like her mother had. Laverne listened to his parents fight a lot after that. He was often asked to pick sides between his parents as they fought while protecting his brother and sister. One day he broke down crying in front of them and they swore to try to stop, they vowed to try fixing their relationship because in truth, they did love each other very much. 

The tension in their family seemed to calm down for a while, although Moria couldn't bear the sight of the daughter she didn't have with her husband, or she could no longer stand the sight of her husband. Eventually their parents sat their boys down and told them that Moria was moving back home to be with her family. Then they told Laverne and Jericho that they had to choose which parent they wanted to live with. Laverne chose Valka as he was to become king one day when his father had died and that the people of Arün would need that, maybe he was afraid to leave the only home he'd ever had. Jericho didn't come to a decision and Moria told him to stay with Laverne and Khaleesi, they'd need each other. 

With their mother gone, Laverne and Jericho stayed by their half sister's side. A few years later after Moria left, Valka died in an attack on Arün from the dragon born race, protecting Laverne. Laverne being the helpful, kind and striving person he was, sought to help and or save his father but ended up being stabbed through the chest several times. Valka noticed this and grabbed Laverne Laverne slipping closer to death, Valka started to perform a healing spell when one of his jugulars were cut by someone. In his final moments, Valka opted to give Laverne his life force as he was going to die anyways and accepted his death. With Valka gone now, Laverne was slowly healed by some of the best physicians in the world. Unfortunately, Laverne laid bedridden and comatose for eight months while he healed. In this time, the Arünian throne sat empty, Jericho refused to take the crown as Laverne was the rightful heir and still breathing. Jericho, Khaleesi and Moria often found themselves sitting at Laverne's bedside, staring at him and wishing this hadn't happened.  When waking up eight months later, Laverne struggled to find the strength to walk, the attack leaving many scars on his torso. This officially dubbed him as 'the rising phoenix', 'the boy who lived' and 'the undead one'. A few days passed and Laverne was crowned the new monarch of the kingdom. 

It has been five years since his father's death, he is back to perfect health with new scars and a seemingly darker personality. Laverne has kept his promise to look after his brother and sister, he's gotten very used to his duties. Laverne and Jericho's mother comes to visit with her older brother every six years. Khaleesi doesn't know that she's their half sister, neither of the boys want to tell her. When Moria is around, she fakes a smile towards her step daughter and dying inside every time Khaleesi calls her mother. Laverne is still learning to love anybody but himself and his family after all this time, he is skeptical to trust anybody because of his past.
