Mao is a very chaotic and sarcastic demon who loves to laugh, often at the expense of others. While not inherently evil, few would ever consider Mao to be good, as ey is very self-centered and impulsively reacts to the things around em, sometimes in a violent manner. Ey loves following those who ey finds amusing and has a strong - if not a little twisted - sense of humor, and typically doesn't think much of anyone around em. However, ey also has a tendency to become angry very quickly, especially if ey sees those in power abusing that strength to put down those weaker than them. Once Mao has been angered, almost nothing can deter eir vengeful wrath. Although ey comes across as being strong and self-sufficient, however, certain phrases and situations can trigger breakdowns.

Mao is the result of the union between a human - formerly known as Cessair Mallory - and a demon who also went by the name of Mao. Driven to desperation by a world that was against em every step of the way, Cessair summoned the demon Mao with the intent of asking him to kill em. However, he proposed a different plan; that they become one entity, so that he might walk among the physical plane once more, and ey would no longer have to suffer injustice at the hands of others. Cessair accepted his proposal, and the two of them merged into one entity.
They are no longer Cessair and the demon, but instead are something new entirely. The two identities have merged into one being. Featuring Cessair's destructive impulses, and the demon's flair for drama and chaos, Mao has since decided to take it upon eirself to rid the world of its trash. Ey strikes back against those who bully the weak and gain from ruining lives, and doesn't typically have any reservations about murder. Ey doesn't fight for justice, but rather to satisfy the selfish desire to harm those who anger them.

- Even though they are one person now, sometimes Cessair and Mao can communicate to one another when dreaming as two separate identities.
- Eir gender is, in eir words, "hard to explain", but is very strongly felt.
- Mao's demonic abilities largely include the capability to defy gravity (walking upside-down on surfaces, sideways on walls, etc) and to shape eir arms into ink-black spears or claws.
- Ey has a very nice singing voice but gets embarassed when overheard.
