Sawyer Gentzler's Links
She's excited to meet the new neighbor! She thinks Isolabella is shy but wants her to feel welcomed in the neighborhood.
Isolabella cannot stress enough how much she hates this next door neighbor. Its only because her squash would beat Isolabella's own at the state fair, not for aesthetic-or-crush reasons... That's wild.
((AKA What is a Rival if not a crush you're mad about having??))
Shanice was the first person to welcome Sawyer to the neighborhood when she had to drop everything to take care of her ailing parents. She can tell Shanice gets lonely since her kids are too busy with kids of their own, so she visits as often as she can. Shanice taught her how to make pies, though Sawyer never really got the hang of it. She's better at savory dishes than sweet. Not for a lack of trying though. Shanice kind of became a surrogate grandma for Sawyer, especially once her mother died and her father was spiraling into dementia. Shanice was always there to bake a pie or bring over a fresh carton of raspberries to check on Sawyer and her parents. After her father passed she took refuge in Shanice's house for a few days, letting somebody take care of her for once in a long long time.
She's lived in the neighborhood since the very beginning, so she remembers when Sawyer's parents moved in two doors down. She remembers when they invited her inside to cut the beautiful raspberry pie she baked as a welcoming gift. She remembers when Sawyer's parents began to decline in health and when Sawyer moved in with them to take care of them. Sawyer had started to become like a child to her, visiting her often and trading gardening tips for years. She remembers Sawyer's first disaster of a welcoming pie to their middle neighbor, and Sawyer's subsequent disaster welcoming pies since. She remembers Sawyer's first time winning the county fair top prize for her giant squash. And she remembers when Sawyer's parents passed away very young, leaving everything to their only daughter.
He's the frat bro she has the most contact with, and thus "likes" him best. He's kind of dumb, but he's like her little brother and she'll take care of him regardless. She wishes he'd stop trying to play matchmaker though.
She's the nice older sister figure next door who brings him and his roommates food sometimes if they take care of mowing her front lawn/putting her garbage bin away for her while she's at work.
He's pretty shy, despite hanging out with the loudest hockey bros imaginable. Still, she thinks he could be a good influence on them, and that they could bring him out of his shell eventually.
He appreciates her for bringing home cooked food over as thanks for the frat's help around her yard, but he doesn't really know her that well. If she's not at work, then he is. But regardless, she's a good neighbor and he tries to remain respectful to return the favor.
