Profile

Most Plystrian cities closely follow aesthetics that could be described as Eco-Brutalism, however many have other lines of creation. For example, Plystre's capital city has followed an aesthetic that prioritises free space and trees as much as possible.

Long outdated by modern technology and moved into a ceremonial or sporting position, the Lsyark is an ancient Plystrian weapon that acted like a Bō Staff mixed with a Bow and Arrow, bludgeoning opponents with metallic studding and panels at either end and along the handle while also having a number of attached threads that can be pulled back for arrows.

There are a wide number of fighting styles for the Lsyark, including Hojang (Heavy swings accompanied with arrows fired halfway through blocks and parries) and Herikel (Using every part of the Lsyark as an attack, including the handle and the strings themselves, usually in stealth-based scenarios)

There is a large amount of folk-lore around Native Plystrian culture, such as;

  • Cold Mists being seen as an omen for misfortune.
  • 'Zwídyset Vulíntu', otherwise known as 'Twinned Bird Fruit'. Relatively rare as they grow over each other and giving them two 'wings', these fruit are usually seen as an omen of good fortune, commonly for those trying to grow, be it personal growth or simple farming.

Gewënnfókas Day - Roughly translated to 'Victorious' Day, this event is a national-turned-species-wide holiday celebrating 'Olcay Lornitt', an ancient commander who led armies to conquer and rule. However, unlike other warlords, they actually repaired all the damage they had caused, often to the point where they fixed things that were broken long before they got these. In one case, after defeating a tyrannical ruler, their army later repaired an entire agricultural system. The holiday itself, as it stands now, is celebrated in two different ways.

  • 'Sýnflikti', roughly translated to 'Conflict', showing Olcay's fighting prowess, Plystrain's celebrating in this manner will often find their ways into varying types of combat sports, either armed or unarmed.
  • 'Filarisyys', roughly translated to 'Charity', showing Olcay's altruistic nature, Plystrain's celebrating this way will frequently give out gifts to friends or groups, mostly things which they think each other need, usually tasty snacks or special gifts.

Typically celebrated around Christmas thanks to several coincidences, it does tend to be treated similarly with most Plystrians celebrating by Filarisyys. Though it does raise concerns for groups unaware of these traditions that Plystrian Fight Clubs have higher attendances around the festive season.

[???1] - One of Plystre's oldest holidays and translated to '[???2]', the premise is that some of the earliest civilisations became under attack by demons after a meteor storm. In retaliation, all those who could fight ambushed and stalked upon the demons. Soon, those most accomplished began wearing trophies, with those lacking behind making their own as they continued to hunt for an indeterminate amount of time (Sources suggest anything from ten years to one hundred).

  • Due to this also being the oldest mention of demons as well as the presence of meters, various researchers believe that this was the Plystrian's first encounter with a outerworldly species that arrived through a rapid and likely out of control. However, due to their lack of civilisation, they perceived this species as a demonic force and proceeded to eradicate them. Due to how long ago it was however, this is essentially impossible to confirm.

A remnant belief of ancient Plystrian cultures, Bells symbolise protection. This is because of [God.01], an old God of Protection and Safety, was symbolised by the alarm bells of watchtowers and doorways.
