Story
History
Head of Worships were selected and trained from birth and Hisae's upbringing was no different. She lived and breathed her studies and was determined to do a good job for her future emperor and her gods. However, her dreams were trampled when she was officially admitted into the court. The emperor Hisae had to work under was the complete opposite of her; he was sloppy, greedy, and irresponsible. He used her magic for his own gain, and since she is a part of his court she could not quit. She limited her powers out of spite so that it was only for the emperor's personal uses- not to hurt others. But, there's only so much she could do. Hisae felt her entire life was wasted and grew aloof. She saw hope when Yasuki showed up. When the old emperor died she guided Yasuki through the trials and errors of being a new ruler. She was able to do more good under Yasuki's rule but also fulfill a more guardian-like role. Now she's starting to feel like a babysitter attending to Umiko, and she resists ripping her fins out when she got turned into a miniature fish by wrathful pirates. She'd take a vacation if she could.
Personality
Hisae has been through a lot and looked like she eye-rolled her way through life. She holds the highest expectations for everyone and will push others to behave, do their best, and adhere to one's dignity. She has no time for fun and games and scorns those who are lax and selfish (eating an extra biscuit is unjust in her eyes). Her lectures can be quite grueling and her spells only work part of the way. You have to finish it. While Hisae may be uptight about literally everything, she does her duties efficiently and wouldn't dare let anyone down. She knows what failure can do and won't let others around her fall. Hisae puts on a calm demeanor and is quite wise like an elderly lady should be. Her idea of fun is going over scriptures and ancient metaphors. She's learned to be patient yet some things are always trying to test her.
