My SS13 character, an IPC with blue hair who works as an atmospheric technician (as her name might imply)
Part of the Atmoloid series, a short-lived PR project by Nanotrasen to cultivate a friendlier image for the Atmospherics department. She was designed and built with the end goal being to serve as a sort of mascot character or corporate idol, but before the project could start releasing the training videos and marketing material she and the other Atmoloids had been starring in, the IPC rights movement had reached its peak -- and some executive decided that perhaps it'd be a bad time to announce they'd manufactured a line of IPCs to be mascots for life.
Skyla and her siblings were cut loose and scattered among the stars, but with NT's monopoly being what it is, and Skyla having nothing to her name but the extensive NT atmospherics training she'd recieved as part of the project ... it wasn't long before she went back to NT for a job in the department she was meant to be a mascot for. She has mixed feelings about it, but she's happy to be saving lives and brightening people's days, and at least she has a salary this time around.
