Spook Somnium

Personality:
 Shy around those she is unfamiliar with, once she warms up to someone she is able to fully confide in them. Appreciates things that are calm and peaceful, prefers open fields and suburban life rather than cities and dense areas. Cares for the well being of her loved ones and will go the extra mile to comfort them. Can often be self conscious about things that she deems flaws, what she considers her flaws are influenced by both herself and people around her. Tries to help those in need, although sometimes she feels that she doesn’t know how. Can be unsure of herself but with encouragement, she can gain the confidence she needs. Is often drawn to things that she can find comfort in, whether they be warm, soft or familiar to her in any number of comforting ways. Enjoys simplicity but needs change every so often, not drastic change but just enough to notice a difference. She has a strong sense of justice and has some spiteful tendencies that don't allow her to be too forgiving depending on the person or circumstances.

Story:
Childhood:
   Spook Somnium is the second born child of Cessa Somnium and Rem Sanae. She was born with the capability to Dreamleap through hereditary means. Spook would live the first two years of her life out normally, living in her home with her parents and her older sibling, Corydon Somnium. During those short years of her life her family would live day by day, struggling to make enough money to keep their home and stay well fed. Her father, Cessa Somnium, worked as a contractor during the day and fought as hard as he could to keep his family from going under. Through all of Spook's suffering her grandfather, Ethan Sanae, lived in luxury. He had resented Rem's choice to marry Cessa and abandoned her, refusing to help them financially despite having the means to. It was during this time where Spook's mother, Rem Sanae, would snap under the stress and pressure. She would decide she wanted to put an end to Ethan, who was hospitalized at the time. Cessa would attempt to talk her out of killing the man who she'd hated for her entire life, the final nail in the coffin of their crumbling relationship. Rem lashed out at Cessa sending the household in a frenzy. In the aftermath, Spook had fled from home and found herself lost on the streets of Willow Creek. She would wander for hours before being found by Maddie Tenacity who brought her to the police station to return her to her family. Upon attempting to return Spook to her home the authorities would find that the Somnium family had vanished into thin air. There was no trace of where they could have gone. Maddie would allow Spook to live with her and her family for a few days before deciding to adopt her.
   Spook lived happily with the Tenacity family for the remainder of her life up until she moved out on her own. Spook's new family consisted of her parents, Jean Tenacity and Maddie Tenacity and her brother Fido Tenacity. Spook and Fido got along extremely fast, becoming the best of friends. The two would grow up sharing similar interests and the same sense of humor, they would advise each other and help one another through life. At the age of 3, Spook discovered her ability to Dreamleap. At the age of 4 years old Spook would unintentionally pass on the ability to Dreamleap to Fido. From then on every single night the two would meet and play together within their realities. Spook's reality took the form of a massive field full of tall grass and wheat. It was surrounded on all sides by a seemingly infinite field of oak and spruce trees and was filled with wildlife of many different varieties. Spook would have many dreams and few nightmares. Notable events include: A nightmare of a massive rotting man, he was a puppeteer who controlled creatures with bright glowing strings, Spook narrowly escaped the creature. A silent stalker with eyes that shone a blinding white. It had failed to notice Spook which allowed for her survival, the creature seemed to go missing in the vast expanse of forest in Spook's reality. A stone statue that was harmless for the most part, it scared Spook half to death by shrieking horribly and violently. Spook and Fido would make note of where the statue was located and avoided it, it scared them both intensely. After a year and a half of Dreamleaping alongside Fido, Spook awoke one morning missing an eye. She woke with shrieks and cries of pain and horror, confusing her parents and terrifying her brother. The eye had appeared to have been torn out from the socket. From then on, Spook would take dream suppressant every night to avoid making trips to the Contingentplane and to her reality, she would ask Fido to do the same. The injury would cause Spook great shame as she grew up, she grew out her hair in such a way where it would cover her eye. Spook met Tomb Wakefeld during her first year of school, he had been friends since birth with Fido and was considered a family friend along with his parents. Tomb seemed to not even take notice of Spook's injury, a trait Spook greatly admired.

Teenage Years:
   Once Spook reached working age she worked as a waitress in the Tenacity's Diner which was owned by her adoptive parents. She worked alongside Fido who was a waiter/cashier. She lived a relatively normal and happy life. She, Fido and Tomb had become lifelong friends and always went out to spend time with each other. She knew Fido like the back of her hand, she was getting to that level with Tomb, who she had been developing strong feelings for. Spook planned in the future to work as a veterinarian. Spook had completely forgotten of her adventures in the realities at this point, deciding in her mind that they were dreams and nightmares. She continued taking dream suppressant regardless, fearing the possibility of night terrors which she had thought was the reason why she had been taking dream suppressant in the first place.

Young Adulthood (Pre Twisted Reality):
   Spook moved out on her own (down the street from her parents) at the age of 20, she felt that the independence was good for her. Not much further down the road, Fido and Tomb lived in their own separate homes. Spook and Fido would continue working at the diner for two years. When Spook was at the age of 22, tragedy would strike in the most awful form. Fido Tenacity had mysteriously died in his sleep. There were no suspects, no witnesses, no murder weapon, he had died horribly and mysteriously without a trace of the killer. Spook grieved horribly and intensely for days before seeing Tomb. The two grieved together before Spook made a decision. Whoever or whatever had done this would pay. With the unintentional help of Tomb, Spook would remember her forgotten ability to Dreamleap. She would return to her reality which had decayed in her absence. The sky had turned from a bright blue to a deep red, dark clouds swirled in the sky of the barren wasteland full of dead wildlife and rotted greenery. Upon exiting her reality and entering The Gateway, she encountered a figure that resembled a living person, yet it was not one. She would follow it to an uncertain fate...
