Profile

Personality:
Scythe is very gentle and kindhearted in nature. He normally makes his judgement on whether or not he likes you based heavily off of first impressions, after he has decided what he thinks of you, changing his opinion is a difficult task. Scythe develops strong attachments to those who he likes and is extremely protective over them. If anything poses a threat to those who Scythe has chosen, he will revolt violently. Scythe is extremely dangerous in terms of physical prowess and he is aware, often feeling like a loose cannon. He fears any harm his sharp claws may cause and avoids making contact with the ones he cares for until the danger is secured. Scythe is very sensitive, if someone he loves raises their voice at him, he will feel saddened and attempt to hide. If someone he cared for were to die, the one responsible would not last long.

Abilities and Capabilities:
Scythe is very strong and agile. His estimated top running speed is 43 kilometers per hour, if not for his metallic arm, he would run even faster. Scythe has a metallic arm which when attacking, can be used to slash, impale and strike. Scythe is very frail, yet hard to catch. His agility has allowed him to evade many different dangers which would be inescapable to the average person. Scythe lacks the capability to speak, though he has the capacity to understand human speech.

Story:
Early Life:
Scythe was born from the mind of the young DreamleaperCessa Somnium. Upon his conception, Scythe would stalk and chase down Cessa, who had been able to find a place to hide narrow enough for Scythe to be unable to fit. Scythe would manage to slash Cessa across the back and on the face, giving him permanent scars. Cessa would escape Scythe on that occasion, leaving Scythe alone in the desolate and dark forest that was Cessa's reality. Scythe's purpose upon his conception was to kill Cessa Somnium, a purpose which he felt compelled to do without reason. He would not see Cessa for years on end, wandering aimlessly between the realms of Cessa's reality and The Gateway. The loneliness and unfulfilled purpose left Scythe in a depressed state for his time alone, his nature over that painful period in his life was that of a violent and impulsive beast, bent on killing anything he would encounter for no reason other than the thrill of it. Scythe would hunt down and rip apart much of the wildlife in Cessa's reality due to these impulses. Eventually, Scythe would encounter a new nemesis and rival, a being as impulsive as he was and twice as irritable. The undead deer, Wrath, who had a life that was similar to Scythe's. Years on end of searching for the one who they had been somehow born to kill. Scythe and Wrath would clash on numerous occasions, Wrath was unable to die and Scythe was untouchable due to his incredible speed. Wrath would repeatedly attempt to impale Scythe with her antlers, Scythe would wound Wrath time and time again, achieving no effect no matter how many times he struck. Scythe would have encounters with many other beasts and creatures of unknown origin as well. A massive oak tree, Denver, who Scythe would not allow to see him. The massive size and might of the oak could not be understated, it was an opponent Scythe understood he could not outmatch. In The Gateway, Scythe would repeatedly chase after a bird who he was unable to catch, he would slash at plants and branches of trees, simply trying to emulate the thrill of the kill, the years of boredom were crippling to the mind. There were few occasions where Scythe would encounter Cessa through chance, Cessa would vanish each time Scythe had him in his sights.

Later Years (Pre Twisted Reality):
Scythe would encounter a much older Cessa on one fateful day. Cessa had lured Scythe into a trap, a large cage-like mechanism of his own design where Scythe would be held for a long amount of time. Cessa had planned to repurpose Scythe, to erase Scythe's original purpose from his mind and allow his true personality to shine through. Cessa spent long hours with Scythe, trying to reach out to him and communicate. The long bloodthirsty years had taken a large toll on Scythe. It would not be easy for Cessa, yet eventually he broke through. As time progressed, Scythe's will to hunt and kill had faded. Cessa would reward Scythe each time he chose to be a pacifist, allowing wildlife and woodland creatures to pass by with no attempt at pursuit. With his previous directive now gone, Scythe felt much happier with his life. Scythe was introduced to the first creature like him who Cessa had helped and repurposed, the massive imposing oak that was Denver. The two seemed to have a mutual understanding, spending time with Denver became a normal part of Scythe's routine. Though they could not communicate, they somehow had a way of knowing what the other was thinking. Cessa would give Scythe tasks, missions to complete that would help Cessa greatly with his mission of reuniting his lost family. Scythe would patrol and scout out The Gateway, keeping watch for potential threats. Eventually he would encounter Wrath once more, who he still had grudges against. He would find and warn Cessa of the danger, hoping that Cessa would somehow be able to put an end to the creature. Instead, Cessa lured and contained Wrath as well. Scythe would watch in awe as the creature who he regarded as an enemy for so long was slowly but surely soothed and repurposed by Cessa. Scythe still had doubts about Wrath when Cessa would allow her to roam freely. The feeling of mistrust appeared to be mutual. Upon her release, Wrath would once again try to impale Scythe with her antlers. His favorite method of avoiding Wrath was to constantly linger around Denver. When Wrath would attempt to attack, he would hide in Denver's branches and watch as the frustrated deer failed to reach him. On a routine scouting mission for Cessa, Scythe encountered a menacing and brutal monster. It was extremely tall and broad, with only a swipe of it's claws it would have killed Scythe had he not escaped. He would encounter the monster several more times, each time it would attempt to grab him with it's four massive arms. Scythe's speed never failed him, he escaped and warned Cessa each time, who managed to hide successfully from the monster by the time it entered his reality, if at all. On a normal night in Cessa's reality, a totem monster, Totemgeist, would stumble in with no intention of attacking Cessa. He attempted to repurpose the monster, which had gone over extremely easily. The totem constantly watched Cessa, which Scythe found odd. Scythe was not trusting of the totem, he would try his best to never leave Cessa alone with it. Eventually, Scythe would be introduced to yet another monster, one that Cessa called "Bringer", named after the task she had been born to do. Bringer was fast, even faster than Scythe himself. This fact sparked jealousy in Scythe. Bringer would soon handle most of the tasks that had been designated to Scythe, Scythe was relegated to simply staying with Cessa and keeping watch in his reality rather than The Gateway. Attacks from the four armed monster grew more frequent with time, Cessa was growing more and more desperate as the attacks continued.
