Omar grew up in Hickville, USA, and lived in a small apartment with his mother and father for a good part of his childhood. He was a very curious boy, a tinkerer by nature and loved to break his toys apart and attempt to fix them if he could. At around age 7, his father up and left, something Omar wouldn’t understand until his teen years- the man just didn’t want to take care of a family, specifically taking care of Omar’s mother who was showing signs of serious illness. 

In his teen years, Omar’s mother’s health deteriorated, leaving him to do almost all of the work around the town. The two would bus into the city and visit doctor’s offices every month, doing credit card scams and insurance scams to get her treatment. When Omar was old enough to work, he did so immediately and supported the two of them all he could. If he was good at anything, it was working with his hands. He enjoyed working on cars and bikes, learning from a local mechanic. At 17, he with the help of a mechanic who had grown fond of him in the city moved he and his mother temporarily into an apartment so that their doctor’s visits wouldn’t be so stressful on the both of them. Omar barely managed to finish High School, but did so because he knew his mother wanted it of him. He worked furiously to pay off their credit debt and did so by 22, by taking all the hours he could at the garage. 

At 24, his mother insisted that if she was going to die, she wanted to do so at her hometown, in the country; so Omar moved her back there and sends her money for groceries to be delivered and visits her every other week. He calls her often. 

At 25, Omar works full time at the garage, rides his own custom bike and does his best to take care of his stubborn mother; even if she doesn’t remember who he is most days. He’s a pretty social guy, often going to the bar for drinks with his coworkers who are like brothers to him. He likes to cook in his free time, is thinking about getting a cat and enjoys jigsaw puzzles. At the time of the apocalypse, he’s at work and immediately attempts to leave the city to get to his mother.
