| Note: This is an ultra old character from the other part of the sequel of my story; I'm still not 100% sure about his role in my story, but I wanted him to have a profile here too because I'm very sentimental about my characters. He was originally created ~10 years ago and currently I'm revamping his whole concept, so this page is still a WIP (and mostly contains of info from 2013-2015). | Short description Ancheal was supposed to be one of the main characters in the sequel, he's a son of Sven and Astrid (who appear in the main story as a children). Just a completely average sailor with a strong sense of justice and need to find his own place on the world. Well, maybe not so average...he's a halcylian after all. One of that unusual people with the Gift of the Light that makes them able to use some powers. And yeah, he is definitely not proud of being one of them. Actually he feels ashamed about it, sometimes even believes that it's a kind of curse, he is very insecure about using the Light - and he has reasons for it. In the past Ancheal went through a lot of bad things, was left alone in the unknown place and he had to live really hard life. As an adult he's trying to escape from the past, looking for the society he really can belong to. He has quite unique personality and his methods of coping with the problems are often hilarious. | Personality Ancheal seems to be ironic, mistrustful, sarcastic and cheeky, but at the same time he's cheerful, melancholic and definitely has some unusual personal charm. Usually carefree, obstinate and risky, has some strange habits, often can be seen as silly and weird. At first glance he seems to be easy going and straightforward, it's easy to get in contact with him, but he avoids closer relations and definitely is not the most honest person in the world. Has a tendency to reject people who try to get closer to him, because he thinks it will end up bad for them. Even though he may seem harsh or ignorant sometimes, he enjoys spending time between people and deep inside he really appreciates when someone accepts him and trusts him. Hates staying lonely for longer time because his darker side can easily take control over him. In the fact he's not confident as he may seem to be, he carries big anger inside him and hides his real feels, doesn't like to talk about his own emotions, showing affection or thinking about the past. He has a lot of doubts and often feels lost in his life, he deals with it in his own ways which aren't always that good. He's not so mentally strong as his younger brother and it's very possible that he has BPD and depression, even though he probably doesn't look like typical depressed person. Often prefers to work for the whole day than get some rest. He doesn't look for extraordinary, sublime things in his life, it may look like he just wants to have fun and not worry about anything - yet a lot of strange events happen to him. He never has his own money even when he earns it, the money literally runs away from him so he's forever poor. Steals so often that he can be called a kleptomaniac, also tends to lie a lot. Very hardworking, but not so ambitious like his brother, learns very quickly but isn't educated, enjoys teasing people and making some weird pranks. Usually he's not the most empathic person ever, but can be very caring for people that are important to him. Hates being discriminated and humiliated, sometimes feels guilty even if he doesn't know the reason why. It's easy to provoke him and get him into a fight, or make him feel uncomfortable, but he's really good at hiding his real emotions. He's proud of all his achievements and enjoys when people consider him as experienced and important person, despite it's not always true; sometimes he makes up some stories to get people more interested about him. Easily adapts to any conditions and enjoys working on a ship. He's much more earthbounded and practical than Arvis, but also seems to be more friendly and easy going in general. Completely not interested in all that magical halcylian shit, actually he's kinda scaried of halcylians and is afraid that people will start to suspect and hate him when he'll try to use his powers. It costs him a lot to break this up, but in the end he does it to save someone. After some time it comes out that he has a great leadership abilities, but he doesn't really deal so good with this role. My goal while developing this character was to create a true character, one with a very human nature, despite being a kind of "supernatural being". |

| Relations Sven - his father; they lived together only for the first 5 years because later Ancheal lost his family. Sven was a sailor who also worked in Braivada (Ester's village), he was doing everything to earn some money for his family, but his personality was quite complicated and hard to understand. He really TRIED to be a good father for Ancheal but let's be honest, he didn't do so well - this man had no idea how to be a parent. Sven definitely loved him in his own svenish way, but didn't know how to treat children, so when he was taking care of him, he often exposed his son to danger. Even though, Ancheal really enjoyed spending time with him and having many adventures together, he admired him and wanted to be like him in the future. Ancheal reminds his father a lot (not only in appearance), yet he's not so cold and gloomy like him (even though he often tries to be). He really misses him. Astrid - his mother; he also knew her only for the first 5 years. Astrid became mother as a teen and she really didn't have a lot of experience with raising children, but she was trying her best. Astrid wasn't always responsible person though and she had some problems with it, so she used her friends to help. Adult Ancheal tends to idealize his memories of early childhood and despite the fact that his parents weren't perfect, he remembers them as best as possible. Arvis - his younger brother. He often treats him in the worst way, but in the fact Ancheal cares about him the most. They're seem quite similar at the first glance, but actually they're very different persons with different priorities. Ancheal had to live without his parents since he was 5 and had to take care of Arvis since beginning, so in their childhood they were really close. Despite Ancheal is the older one, Arvis is mentally stronger than him and deals with everything a bit better. Arvis is more fascinated by the halcylian power (which he also can use) and sees it in a completely different way. Adult Ancheal tends to tease him and sometimes he's really mean to him even without any reason, but in the fact he always immediately starts to regret this. Linnea - Astrid's sister, Ancheal's aunt. Linnea often helped Astrid with taking care of him when he was a small child. Some years later, when Ancheal and his brother get lost and become homeless, she finds them and tries to help them, but for some reason Ancheal finds hard to trust her. Ronya - that cheeky and pugnacious country girl Ancheal has a crash onto. Ronya also feels something to him, but her way of being won't let her admit this - just like in Anchi's case. They tease each other for long time, even fight sometimes and it may seem like they don't even have a friendly relation at all. Both of them are that kind of a person who just can't express their feelings in a normal way. In the fact Ancheal really enjoys visiting her village but he wouldn't admit even to that. What a fvcking tsundere. Mr Tharaldson - the man who helped him in his childhood when he was basically homeless. Mr Tharaldson took him in and let him live in his flat. Ancheal was thankful for everythink he did to him, yet he wasn't sure how to really feel about this crazy man. His biggest hobby was predicting distasters in the whole world and the way he acted was really worrisome. He was also very fascinated by halcylians, what was making Ancheal kinda concerned. Ronya's family - he has pretty good relations with all her siblings; Ronya's father seems to like him, yet he rather wouldn't want him as his son in law. Captain Svein - Svein is a very important figure in Ancheal's life. He meets him as a teen and from one mysterious reason he gets his help, despite that Svein is never willing to help random people. At the first moment Svein mistook Ancheal with his father Sven, who actually was working with him years ago, but quickly he realises that this boy is too young to be Sven. When he discovers that Ancheal is Sven's son, he decides to let him join the marine school and work in the harbor - only because he feels guilty for something bad that he did to Sven long time ago and wanted to redeem his guilt in that way. Nevertheless, Svein treated Ancheal harshly and forced him to giving him every money he earned. At the first moment Ancheal was impressed by Svein's authority and respected him, but the more he discovered about him, the more he was aware of his greedness and mean nature. He had never felt hatred towards him though; he still remained loyal to him and even tried to help him with his personal problems. Their relation is quite complicated and it changes through years. Svein is one of the few people who know who Ancheal really is. Almi - his friend from the crew, just as poor as him, but in a bit better situation, often tries to stop him from getting in troubles. Ennilan (formerly Eyse) - the mysterious halcylian boy that Ancheal finds on a ship and decides to helps him. At the first moment he seems to be irritated by his attitude, but he slowly changes his mind and lets him stay in his place. |
| Some other fun facts - His name should be pronounced like An-sheel; it's a name of a character from Ester's novel that his mother used to read as a child. It's often shorten to Anchi by others. - Just to make it clear - his hair is not blue, it is black. In 2013-14 I used to paint with too saturated colors. - The events that happen in his childhood after he and his brother are forced to live alone aren't clear now, but it's sure that their childhood was hard. In the past years I had a concept for it, but now I must cancel it. Ancheal was 5-6 when he lost his parents, but actually only Astrid died in that moment; it's also not sure what happened with Sven, but he has to come back in ~20 years. - He completely can't cook, yet he does it quite often. Same with singing. People hate when he does it. - He had never attended elementary school, Mr Tharaldson taught him most of things in the past. He gets to the marine school when he's 15 only because Svein decides to help him - somehow trying to making amends for all that bad things he did to Sven in the past. - Can sleep in every place and eat literally everything. - Treats ships like persons and often talks to them. He even tried to feed a ship with a cake. - There was a concept that he commits a semi-suicide in 1940s but now I'm not sure about the way he'll die. Anyway it's still obvious he'll die quite young during the story. |
