Orin is the son of the wealthy elf merchant Travalur Phidove and Guard Captain Enid from Trefiumi. Growing up he wasn't told much about his mother, and as he traveled a lot with his father he never met her. He showed an affinity for magic early on, so his father sent him to the best magic school in the land when he was a teenager to study. While there, he unwittingly became involved with a dark cult who worshipped an evil being, and part of this cult was to become cursed in exchange for greater magic. Orin managed to escape the cult, but because he no longer worshipped the dark being the curse began to slowly kill him (Being on his neck, it affects his breathing and voice). While traveling in search of a cure, he met Silver and her group and learned of the evil plaguing the land (while sharing his own knowlege of the cult). He decided to travel with them, and while doing so he met with Guard Captain Enid, who (after some confusion) he learned to be his mother. He has a bird familiar named Ferdinand.
