Mikey is the older twin (by about 15 minutes!), and he's more outgoing and flashy than his brother. He's more romantic than the rest of the family, and very sentimental. He cares so deeply and fiercely for his siblings, he would fight the biggest battles to make sure they were safe. (You know, because only HE's allowed to bully them.) He's a bit thick-headed when it comes to certain things, but he's very passionate about the things that he likes. He's sportier than the other two, a little more broad-chested, and has the stamina of a nyk-nyka; the twins themselves are fairly tall (Mikey is 4'10, Jack is 4'9), taking after Wren, but Mikey is the closest with his larger ears and broader shoulders.
While his brother is his best friend, that's not to say that Pip has ever felt left out; they all grew up together, basically, and Pip even helped name the twins when they were born (Wren and Ludis set her down and asked her what her favourite names were out of a little list they had; she couldn't say 'michael', but she COULD say 'Mikey!'). She may be three years older, but that doesn't mean she didn't fit right in with them once they were all old enough to run around outside together unsupervised (maybe still not a good idea...). Mikey and Pip have taken turns throughout their lives being the other one's arch nemesis, or perhaps just each other's biggest weakness when it comes to who can do the more stupid thing. Have you ever had a sibling that dared you to climb a tree just to see how high you could go? While full-knowing you wouldn't be able to get back down? Let's just say Mikey is ALSO the most gullible out of the trio, and is always looking for the next challenge.
Mikey always does his best to make sure that Jack is included in whatever it is that they're getting up to next (even if it means Jack plays baby-sitter to his impulsive brother more often than not). But they have fun! They made it this far together, didn't they? Mikey knows his brother inside and out (or so he thinks, of course) and he will always be the first to defend him... or give him the biggest noogie of his life. While he may think that Jack doesn't do things by himself or without help from his brother pushing him to do them, it's a little more complicated than that; Mikey worries about his other half so deeply that it's closer to a separation anxiety than anything else when they're not together. Or at least, when Mikey doesn't know where Jack is. He HAS to take care of his brother! Who else will, y'know?
When it comes to goals in his life, you'd expect him to get into something a little more valiant, a little more broad-spectrum protective, perhaps, right? Some bold position in the Hunter's guild, maybe? Well, no. Mikey loves to learn the history of things. He wants to know WHO did things, and maybe a little bit of the WHY, but most importantly he wants to know HOW it got to be the way it is. What led other curios to do the things they did? He's happy to continue following in Wren's footsteps of joining the Archeologist's guild, simply because access to all the past information is so wildly exciting. He can't wait to find out who was building the old ruins, what they could be leading to, what they meant in the past. How important it could be for the future to understand what caused these things to otherwise be lost to time. Preservation, much like sentimentality, is very important to Mikey; he may always be looking for his next adventure, but he quite simply does not like change, and that's what he struggles with most when it comes to letting his brother go.
