Yucca is the proud owner of at least three 'too much' genes. She's loud, excitable, and endlessly cheery, an optimist of the highest order, even when life is punching her down. She is a juggernaut of enthusiasm for everything and everyone that comes her way. She's just happy to be here, and she's thrilled you're here with her.
That being said, she's far from helpless. Yucca learned to fight at a young age, but more than that, she learned she could fight, and while untrained, she's earned a reputation for being nearly impossible to keep down, soldiering her way through pain and damage that would bring larger curio to their knees. Unfortunately, people keep encouraging this behavior, and Yucca has no qualms about jumping in to fight someone else's battles, making her come across as downright bloodthirsty.
Other than her ferocious fighting ability, Yucca is well known for her work ethic. Neither rain nor snow nor dark of night deterrs her from a job completed. Unfortunately, an incomplete education and a general sense of wanderlust keep her from truly holding down a job- a member of the extensive Scatterstar Hobo Community, Yucca hops from town to town, taking on odd jobs as she finds them, barely scraping enough together to feed her massive bird steed, and sometimes even herself.

While delivering mail, she found a scorpion in her bag, which promptly stung her(Thanks to her thick pilot's jacket however, it did not manage to break skin in the process.) Immediately flying into a rage, Yucca chased it through the market, only to be stung again upon capture. Although the dosage was small, it was enough to put her out of commission, and for the scorpion to escape.

Ever on the hustle, Yucca picks up a one-night gig at Jay Warlowes's party serving wine and hors d'ourves to the guests. Following the midnight toast gone wrong, she is quick to leap to action. After throwing together a barricade for her friends, she proceeds to fight the hoards of mutated curio the whole night through. When the guards finally come in, she is mistaken for one of the mutants, tazed, and detained.

1 - 2 - That Heavy Feeling
Beaten, broken, and sore, Yucca wakes up in the medical tents strapped down to a guerney. After release, she approaches Jay Warlowes and begs for reassurance that she is still getting paid for the night before. As she recovers, she begins to realize that, for a number of reasons, she has made herself extremely suspicious, and opts to lay low for the investigation. When everything comes to light, she has trouble sorting her feelings out about it.

Yucca is hired to bring a missive to one Hamish Grieves, bringing him out of the mountains to join the hunt for Marsa Kul- the actual mind behind the mass poisoning in Before the Fall. Despite being hardly recovered from her wounds, Yucca insists on joining Hamish. The two confront Marsa Kul in turn, only to discover that she is now Possessed, and her Shadow has a will of its own. Yucca is badly flayed by this, and Hamish is forced to abandon the hunt in an attempt to save her life.
HUNTER'S GUILD: Rank Up
Hamish visits Yucca in the hospital, and calls her out on her self-destructive tendencies. He advises she join the Hunter's Guild, to learn discepline and proper fighting technique.
Welcome to the Jungle, July 2020
Still recovering from her near-death experience, Yucca tags on to a promising expedition as brute labor, as she considers Hamish's suggestion to join the Hunter's guild. There is some attempt to pace herself.
Strange Tides, August 2020
When a storm levels Jun Nazu, Yucca shows up to help rebuild, and also, perhaps, to have some beach fun with friends. While there, she has an odd encounter with an old pirate, who claims to have known her grandmother.
Reunion, September 2020
Yucca flies the whole way to Tonpelli, eager to meet the newly discovered cousins. In spite of the language barrier, she begins to endear herself to the locals by offering linney rides- which a young Sho-Kau takes her up on. Yucca proceeds to fly through the sacred singing arches. Having brought in an unscreened animal, left the specified visitation zones, AND trespassed on sacred grounds, Yucca is immediately banned from Tonpelli and deported.
ASSASSINS, RP & Short Story
As Apple's Cafe closes for the day, a squadron of assassins closes in, intent on taking out Jay Warlowes where his guard would be lowest. Yucca, along with Zinya and Shepp, fight to protect the disgraced radio mogul, barely managing to survive the attack. Later that night, she and Warlowes have a private talk.

Yucca signs up for a number of competitions, but dominates the three-legged race with Pip on a technicality. She also unwittingly meets- and engages in an impromptu cheer competition with- Duya, an Undyre Captain of the Craftsman's Guild.

In an attempt to gauge Yucca's progress over the past few months, Hamish meets up with her at the hot springs to coach her through monster hunting. A cabu pledges its life to her. She is bitten by a baby Vandrill. Not bad, all things considered.

With Jay Warlowes as an official friend-of-a-friend, Yucca is able to snag one of the new video recording machines, and proceeds to take it on a ride over Paydo Moga, ending the shot with a spectacular leap from the back of Mr. Scoops. It's a terrifyingly reckless shot, but perhaps one day, a valuable reel for historians. Regardless, Jay Warlowes is not amused.

Yucca attends the Livestock Show as a spectator, there to check out the new Linny breeds and catch up with friends. She is mistaken for a participant, and a rogue judge tears Mr. Scoops apart. Impulsively, Yucca sics him on the hapless judge, only to have a little trouble reeling him back in before he actually eats them.

With Hamish being conveniently in town for the Livestock Show, he decides to take this oppertunity to give Yucca some hands-on survival and manhunt training. However, Yucca's training is usurped by a young Undyre named Pith, who is far more interested in collecting samples of the local plantlife than hunting down the fugitive. After a few days of Hamish and Pith in a test of wills, Yucca is unsaddled during high tide by a monster, and very nearly drowns. She is saved, however, by Cirrus, the disgraced Tonpellian envoy sent to assist in tracking the fugitive down. Later that night, after an attack on the camp by a massive snake, she offers some small comfort to their nervous follower, Imanes, as his finger is re-set.

Having initially shown up in search of work, Yucca found there was more than expected. Throwing herself in wherever she could, she did her best helping drag the fest up from a mess to a proper event, making sure everyone had a place to sleep and food to eat, and helping with the construction of a temporary sound stage. With the completion of this, Yucca performs a 'sound check' with an upbeat rendition of 'One More Day Above The Roses'.

Yucca and Dusty attend the tech fair, as a prelude to their plans to travel across Tonpelli together, meeting people and seeing the sights. Yucca makes a bold attempt to apologize to Abbot Yan, due to her prior ban on account of disrespect- her apology goes downhill, but is rescued by the timely appearance of Worthy, the Cabu. Yan softens, and seems to forgive her, and engages in a long conversation with Dusty. While getting popsicles to cool down both old men, Yucca meets up with the facilitator of her being removed from the ban list- Duya. The two of them make plans to meet at his family docks that night, when the tech fair is over.
Later, Yucca would reconnect with Achilles, and finally be introduced to her bodyguard, Triket. She would also meet and befriend the reclusive Harbor.

As Hanto Magnata goes up in flames, Yucca carries Dusty to the safety of an outgoing ship- then disembarks again. She runs through the city, offering aid to anyone she encounters- including a wounded Triket, who eventually shoves her into one of the city chanals in order to lose her. This does not deterr her, but the cyborg invasion continues, and Yucca finds herself increasingly unable to determine when she has done 'enough', and slowly begins to find herself overwhelmed. Through a chance meeting with Cirrus, she is recruited into a slap-dash mission- to head out toward Mino Ami and warn them of the impending danger.

In the wake of the burning of Hanto Magnata, Yucca takes her conscripted Linny, Turbo, and takes on a familiar role: That of an ad-hoc postman, delivering packages and letters up and down the shattered islands, putting the divided families back in contact with each other, and shuttling intel and support requests between different factions, but particularly between Offshore, Mino Ami, and the Tonpelli Blues. When possible, she throws her weight in to help wherever she can, from Blues training and aerial reconnaissance, to building walls and floating docks on Offshore. She develops a complicated relationship with Duya, and a strong friendship with Cirrus and Emrys. Throughout it all, she does her best to put on a smiling, confident face- a confidence she herself feels slowly diminishing.
Nor Gloom of Night: Yucca makes a friend among the Tonpelli Blues- a young, formerly discredited Undyre named 'Flanders'. Despite being an enforcer in his former former life, he struggles with the violent aspects of war. As it becomes clear this is an aversion that will not be easily overcome, Yucca tries to convince him to help the cause another way.
Anchorweights: With the trouble on Tonpelli, what was supposed to be a casual fling evolves into unspoken emotional support.
Shimmersea Nights, August 2021
Exhausted and heartbroken by the end of the war, Yucca heads to Dula Dula, with the intent to finally earn a little bit of power and leeway, for her own ends. There, she is found by Leucis, who invites her out to a carnival, attempting to lift her spirits and distract her from her own dark thoughts.
Windchasers, September 2021
On a whim, Yucca decides to participate in the Windchaser's race. Being entirely unprepared, she manages to wrangle a steed from the Stampede Gorge herd- an absolutely feral mount willing to kick and bite anything that comes near. Still, Brat Bastard and Yucca manage to come to a strange sort of understanding, and manage to do surprisingly well in the race- they aren't in first place, but they aren't last either. Along the way they happen to pass Venice Agavoi- a man who recognizes Yucca's tailbead, and claims to be her grandmother's estranged brother.
WASHOUT TRIALS
At the Hunter's Guild, Yucca starts to make some progress, learning basic first aid, and the all-important master technique of 'dodging'.

With her eyes on a nebulous prize, Yucca continues to burn through her guild assessments, bolstered somewhat by the reputation she built in Tonpelli, and quickly rises to Journeyman.
A New Mask, October 2021
Yucca is reunited with Duya, who she hasn't seen since he went missing after the Tech War. Unfortunately, it's not the Duya she knew, and he effectively blocks her every attempt to connect with him, eventually storming off to spend time with her other friends, partying to take her mind off of things.
Frozen in Time, November 2021
Following Duya's announcement of an expedition to the North, Yucca signs on to go with him, figuring that, whatever Duya has become, he'll probably need at least one friendly face watching his back, especially if things turn sour- something that seems more likely as the expedition presses on, and things become grim. The trip is grueling, and with the added stress of her aging mentor joining the crew, even Yucca finds her mood growing grim again. The best part of the day often ends up being the night, when she and Dusty cram themselves into a small, but warm tent with Emrys, Castia, Pith, and Imanes.

On the other side of the mountains at last, the expedition finds signs of more modern civilization- and plants! Yucca begins to take the night watch, and has a telling conversation with Duya- the first real conversation they've had in near half a year. She also talks with Anjali, who has quickly become a fast friend, about love, bad relationships and moving on.

Contact has been made with the Eisgar. Yucca is no scholar, but she does her best to befriend the giants and learn their language. She also begins to learn of the exquisite joy that is bullying your ex.
Special Someone, February 2022
Yucca leaps into the Elskarok spirit with gusto, doing her best to obtain a gansey for everyone- and that does mean everyone she cares about, romantic or not. It's not long before the rest of her tentmates catch on, and soon they are overrun with gansey meat. For Dusty, however, she has one request: That he go home, before things get too dangerous.

Not one much for scholarly pursuits, Yucca instead takes on the role of test subject, eating whatever plants are given her to see what happens.
North of Nowhere, April 2022
With the expedition slowly disbanding between those chasing Brilla's talk of apocalypse, the Sardine Tent starts to split- only temporarily thought. Yucca and Emrys decide to band together for the Renjor race, before Emrys follows Duke to his diplomatic mission. At the end of the race, however, she runs into one of her many bosses, Hornse Agavoi, and his father- Venice, her Grandmother's brother.

Where Do We Go From Here - Can Relate
While not much of a researcher, Yucca proves to have an apt skill for cartography, riding out ahead of diggers and searchers to map and re-map areas that promise to hold clues toward finding Avagon's World Pillar. The call of travel is tempting, but she keeps to her mission, in hopes her efforts will prove enough of an olive branch to mend her relationship with Duya. At the same time, she finds herself struggling to navigate a familial relationship with Hornse.

Mr. Scoops
[ Noble Steed ] Yucca raised Mr. Scoops from chickhood, and the two have been inseperable since. Sure, he's half-feral, badly trained and liable to eat anyone who isn't Yucca, but isn't that what friendship's really about?
Balsamum
[ Oldest Friend ] They've known each other since before they could walk. Throughout childhood, Yucca was his protector and champion on the tough streets of Paydo Moga. Even with Yucca now perpetually on the move, the two remain close.
Dusty Rhodes
[ Mentor, Father Figure ] Almost ten years ago, Dusty took a young, runaway Yucca under his wings, and brought her into the fold of hobos and vagabonds. He taught her everything she knows about hard work, survival, and the power of friendship community.
Hamish Grieves
[ Mentor, Bossman ] Yucca was such a disaster she dragged this old hermit out of retirement to personally try to keep her from dying. She has a healthy respect for him but he really needs to chill out and get out a bit more.
Apple Cider
[ Chief, World's Best Boss ] A young but skilled merchant, their relationship started early in Apple's career, when he took advantage of her courier services to deliver his apples and apple products outside of his usual range. The two have since become close friends.
Pip
[ Friends ] Mutual friends of Apple, the two hit it off almost immediately. They have a bad habit of hyping each other up for bad ideas, and then doing them. Pull-no-punches high-falutin fun all around.
Achilles Revoyi
[ Hey there, Longshanks! ] Yucca has no clue how dangerous this woman is, which is probably exactly what Achilles wants. Still, Yucca respects anyone who can bench her, and she makes a great competative partner.
Leucis
[ It's been a long time, Lucy! ] The last time she saw him was almost 10 years ago now, when she first struck out on her own. They're entirely different people now, but finding him again was like picking up an old book, exactly where you left off.
Imanes Veeritas
[ How's it going, Nerves? ] If they hadn't met when Yucca was half-drowned, she probably would have scared him back into the jungle. As it stands, Yucca is keenly aware of Imanes' anxiety, and tries to bolster his flagging self-confidence. He's a nice dude, with cool swords! Nice dudes with cool swords shouldn't hate themselves.
Emrys
[ It's Nubbins! ] Over the course of the Tech War, the two of them bonded over cocoa, combat, and their mutual friend, Cirrus Reef. It's difficult to really talk about what a heavy blow his loss was- fortunately, they both already know. She likes to think Cirrus would be glad their friendship outlasted him.
Torvel
[ My girl, Trouble! ] A loose friendship based around impossible schedules. But on those rare occasions where the stars align and they both have time off, they drink and catch up, although it's now reached the point where it's a bit too awkward to admit they don't actually remember each others' names.
Jay Warlowes
[ Good Question ] They aren't friends, but they aren't enemies either. As mutual friends of Apple, they have opted to politely tolerate each other, developing something like a rapport in the process.
Duya
[ Cap'n My Cap'n ] It was not a relationship built to last- a casual fling, a couple weeks, at most. That was before the war though- the romance collapsed along with Tonpelli society, and the guilt keeps her hanging around in hopes of making up for it all.
Cirrus Reef
[ He's still my Hero ] He saved her life in the Flooded Jungle. She just wishes she could have returned the favor. They bonded during the war, as Yucca desperately tried to bouy the morale of the Blues camp, an odd sort of friendship, but a warm one. It's hard to believe he's gone.
Behnia
[ Granma Ben ] The ghost that haunts Yucca's life. Yucca inherited her bead, and so much more. Apparently used to be a pirate.
