Liam

Liam is cynical, reserved, grumpy, and quiet if not provoked. He's very blunt and comes off impolite most of the time, and his profanity doesn't help. Liam is short-tempered and easily-irritated. He is antisocial and hates being around bubbly happy people. It's because of his attitude and bad people skills that he got fired a lot in the past. He is trying not to be as much of an asshole, but it doesn't always work.
However, he is more neutral around what little people he has respect for (namely Amber), and tries not to let his shitty attitude show when meeting friends of friends.

He rarely smiles and is seldom ever happy.
Deep down, Liam hates how much of an asshole he is and hates how he pushes people away. He didn't have the best parents growing up and it made him bitter. He knows he's not nice and gets irritated easily, and for him, it's easier to push people away than have them deal with someone like him. His only real friends he has are Amber and Mal. He's amazed by how they stuck by him for so long, despite how rude he is to others.

In a relationship, he'd most likely be a tsundere. He has never been in a relationship because he's scared of hurting any potential partners, and because he thinks most people aren't worth his time. He has a crush on his co-worker, Bao (but that's a WIP).

Liam enjoys painting, but having his passion criticized and shat on so many times, he's not confident enough to do anything serious with his work, at least until he gets the hang of working in the manga department. Liam gets really self-conscious and unhappy with his art at times.

Liam grew up with shitty parents. They had that mindset of "we gave you life so you have to live as we want you to" and hated it. Since he was a kid, Liam had a love for art, though his parents often ignored or discouraged it. Liam met Amber when he was in elementary school and they bonded over art. She encouraged him when others wouldn't and would comfort him when he broke down and cried (he was a crybaby as a kid).

Sometime after graduating high school, Liam and his parents had a bunch of issues regarding his future. He wanted to go to art school, but his parents wanted him to do something more meaningful with his life. Since Liam didn't know what else he had wanted to do with his life, and since keeping a job wasn't easy for him, he ended up not living with them anymore. He ended up living in Mal's tiny apartment since whatever other few friends he had couldn't provide him shelter.

Liam had been in and out of various jobs, either because he got fired for having a poor attitude, or he quit due to stress or shitty bosses and co-workers. Liam applied for a job at a comic/manga-making company, after Amber convinced him to give it a try. He works on backgrounds and inking for other artists. Liam met Bao there (and that is a WIP).
