Nate is a kind and positive person to be with, and will sometimes gently tease others. When joking around, it’s usually to try and lighten up the mood, though he usually knows his limits. Unless the people around him make it incredibly obvious, he typically assumes everything is fine. Nate is, surprisingly to a lot of people, actually pretty good at flirting,

He’s not an angry cat by any means, after the events with his bullies at least. He tries to stay happy to avoid becoming or being viewed as a savage. He’s pretty dumb most of the time, and also doesn’t like confrontation or getting into arguments with his loved ones.

ABILITY:

Nate has psychic abilities, which, as far as he knows, he can only use levitation with. He can also control things like water or fire with it, but can’t shape them or anything as if he has those powers. Using his psychic abilities hurts his head, though, so he’s tried not to rely on it so much.

In the past, Nate has always lived at an orphanage and never met his parents. He met his friend Furizu at the same orphanage. The two eventually left it when they were 13 to live their own lives. Nate and Furizu had been bullied by a group of other cats up until they were 15/14. When Furizu disappeared one morning, Nate immediately blamed the clowder and, out of anger, attacked them. This caused him scars on his left ear and eye. Cataclysm was able to save him from further damage, but Nate has hated other cats since then. He did hate Cataclysm as he was also a cat, but didn’t show it much since he saved his life, so he had a bit of respect for him. Cataclysm also gave Nate his bandana, and he’s cherished it ever since.

While recovering, he met Kami, who taught him that he shouldn’t judge someone based off of a different group just because they are of the same species. Nate realized his mistake and, while it took a while, stopped hating other cats for that reason. He did eventually recover enough to leave to find Furizu, which he succeeded in after a almost year of searching. He also met River and Azher throughout his journey, with the former helping him stay fit and the latter joining Nate to help find Furizu. Throughout his journey, he also found out he has psychic powers, which he assumed he was born with and just never realized he had them. Though when he tried to use them, it hurt his head so he decided not to activate it much.

Kami eventually met them again at 18 and has joined them. Glazer had also met them, who apparently knows Kami, and wanted to live with them as he’s been trying to find a place to stay. The four now live with each other.

While people asking about his scars isn’t really a touchy topic to him, Nate had stopped doing combats as much as he used to, even friendly ones, since it reminded him of how savage he had acted when he accused the cat clowder those years ago. His scars are still a reminder of that, but it doesn’t affect him as much as using his daggers. He thinks of it as a friendly reminder that he’s improved and won’t make the same mistakes again. Though to save his friend Ashe, Nate was willing to fight.

Nate met Phyre at 18, and the two got along at first, but it began getting rough as soon as Phyre mentioned her sister, Cascade. From Phyre’s request, both of them searched for Cascade in Concluding Origins. After hearing the story of Cascade from the otter herself, Nate felt sympathetic for her. Nate wants to give her the love she never got as a child. While he can’t defend her actions for the way she attacked Ashe and their friends, Nate hopes a bit of love will help Cascade become a better person. Later on, Nate thought that was the end of his rough start with Phyre, and the two got together rather quickly.

A couple of months into his relationship with Phyre, Nate was pressured by her to start a family. Despite feeling like he wasn’t ready, he still agreed to it since he knew that would make his partner happy. Nate tried to live in Quartz City with Phyre as per her request, but he didn’t feel like he fit in there. The city was in a constant moving state he wasn’t used to, and he missed his friends too much. Despite Phyre’s multiple attempts to get him to stay, Nate still ended up living with his friends as usual.

3 years later, he was surprised with Kami and Furizu wanting to move to Leaflet Village. They hadn’t told him anything until then, and apparently already had something to start them off. Nate agreed to moving and thought it was a nice surprise. After Phyre left to work, Nate and his friends went to Leaflet Village to help continue what Kami and Furizu had started.

While checking out their new home, Cascade ran into them and forced Nate to tell her where Phyre is. After a bit of discussion, it is revealed that Kaizo- a rogue friend of Cascade’s who’d given Nate and his friends trouble before- is now dead, and Cascade is looking for Phyre to retrieve his earrings back from her sister. Nate helped Cascade look for Phyre,  accidentally tearing his bandana along the way. The situation got out of hand, however, and resulted in Phyre’s death.

After a talk with Kami, Cascade ended up living with Nate and his friends. Though Kami’s intentions were so that she can keep at eye on Cascade, Nate wanted to give her genuine love. He trusts her and knows Phyre’s death was an accident. Besides, he had also promised Phyre he’d take care of her older sister if anything ever happened to Phyre, and luckily she won’t be too hard to find now. Kami also managed to stitch the tear on Nate’s bandana back together after the whole incident.
