Blake Rothschild
Appearance
Hair: Golden blonde, cut very short (and with a hairline that recedes as he ages), often with a thin line shaved into each side above the ears
Eyes: Bluish-green, with an almond shape
Build: Very tall, with a wide, muscular build, and a belly and "love handles" that also get bigger with age, and has a fair amount of body hair
Scars/Body Modifications/Other distinguishing features: none
Clothing: Polo shirts, henley shirts, or fleece pullovers (all in varying and sometimes bright colors) paired with khaki pants or blue jeans. (Once he gets into his early 40s he really has that middle-aged dad look going on. XD)
Personality
Disposition: Blake is a real down to earth kind of person, and is hard-working, dependable, and kind. He likes to treat everyone fairly and wants what's best for everyone, putting their needs above his own. He has a very hard time saying "no" to anyone and doesn't like to disappoint people, even if it means disappointing himself. (Because of this he sometimes feels resentful of others for walking all over him, when it would’ve been easier for him to just put his foot down in the first place…) He also has a tendency to worry quite a bit, especially for the well-being and happiness of those he cares about, but he tries not to pry too much. (As an example, even though he has never smoked a cigarette in his life and thinks it's a terrible habit he looks the other way when he sees Maverick doing it, even though it bothers him.)
Mannerisms: He usually has a smile on his face, whether he's truly happy or just trying to keep up appearances. He seems to have a hard time just sitting still (especially when at home) and is almost always seen straitening up the house, making dinner, or keeping busy in some way.
Voice: He has a fairly deep voice and a bit of a "southern drawl", making one feel like they're talking to an old cowboy. He also has a slight stutter, which is most noticeable when he's angry, scared, excited, or otherwise upset.

Background
Born and raised on a cattle ranch, Blake was taught the value of hard work from a young age, and grew up to be a strong and disciplined young man. At 18 he joined the Marines and served in the Vietnam War in his early 20s, driving a tank. Upon returning home he soon met a beautiful young woman who became his wife and the mother of his son, Maverick, and he retired from the military after 10+ years of service. He thought he had it all, but was never truly happy, as he had also been living his entire life as a closeted homosexual. He was ridden with both the guilt of feeling as though he was lying to everyone he knew, and the sadness of never getting to be himself. And when he broke down and admitted this to his wife she took the news incredibly hard and they quickly divorced, leaving Blake with full custody of their son. Heartbroken, he and Maverick moved from Texas to California to start a new life. He thought he would just stay in the closet for the rest of his life after what he put his ex-wife through, and it wasn’t until he met Romeo and fell for him pretty quickly that he eventually changed his mind…

Romeo Boyfriend
He knew Romeo was trouble the moment he first laid eyes on him, riding up on his motorcycle...a good kind of trouble, though. The kind that could snap him (at least a little bit) out of his uptight, stick-in-the-mud ways...and also, for the first time in his life, make him feel as though he could finally be himself. He couldn't help but fall for him, even if it was hard to admit these kinds of feelings after repressing them so long, and is just grateful Romeo was so patient with him.
Maverick Son
Maverick is his beloved son, and a perfect little angel in his eyes, no matter how much trouble he's gotten into over the years. As he gets older it breaks his heart a bit that he doesn't seem to open up to him as much anymore, or tell him what's going on in his life, even when it's obvious he's having problems. He realizes it's all part of growing up though, and tries to give him his space.
