The Silver Digger is his god. As far as he's concerned, she's the most important of the gods. He is her most devoted follower. Whatever she wishes him to do, he will do it. Gladly.
They were close when they were younger, but Leo changed. He was always the audacious one, and while that sometimes inspired her to act, it also frightened her. They were all separated by the sudden escape into the Void Dimension. Melaine's spent all those years wondering about Leo, and hoping he's doing well. She also hopes he's changed for the better. Maybe some time away from family is just what he needs to get a better perspective on things.
Aurion is her mother. She loves her, but... she doesn't agree with how she runs things. In a world as broken as this one, is it right to chase power and influence? Especially since they've all seen what happens when it goes too far. But she can't argue with Aurion... it won't change her mind. She's already tried.
So long as Porg is kept well fed, it's a neat little distraction, and a one-Porg clean-up crew. Cute little critter, too.
Workin' for Mesa is good money. So long as there's someone who needs killin', and horns that need huntin', Ringo will never be out of a job.
Synge is a bouncer, and sometimes a bartender, for Trixie's theater. She's got about as much tolerance for patron nonsense as she does.
She's lucky she's under Harlequin's "protection". Horns like hers would set a hunter up for life.
Blink's a sweetheart! They often talk about putting on little town events. Sadly, life gets in the way... maybe next year?
Blink works with her at her lodge. She keeps the place feeling comfy, and she's a great help when there's an unusually large crowd of tourists staying over.
The mask... he just wears it. He must not be a true Promised...
The strange, ghostly apparition... Is this a lingering soul of a lost Promised? Perhaps his mother would know more...
Chase hangs out with Schimmer when he wants to chill and pig out on all the takeout they can buy. He's a total bro.
Fuck yeah Shimmer!! Whenever Chase needs a study break, Shimmer is always down to smoke and munch.
Detective Val's not actively investigating the rumors about her, but they have ran into each other a few times. Miss A. knows to be careful what she dilvuges to a guy like him.
Professor Toad is a fellow professor - though he's more focused on the hard sciences. Still, he's a lovely chap to chat with.
Weirdo, even for an Islander xatt. What's with the weird mask? Does she really have to mimic her "owner" that closely?
Allure worries him. She's always trying to snoop on his Saiph! All for that sly Castor... well, he will not allow it! He'll drive her off whenever he spots her (scary) mask spying on her private conversations!
Chevy winds up visiting Beam a lot! Little injuries just seem to happen to them all the time. They must have some really bad luck!
Beam is the Island's lead healer. He's a welcome presence of peace and practicality. It's rare for his services to be needed to treat injuries - at least, of the nabis Mintaka has authority over - but it is reassuring to know he is around.
Mintaka recalls how Capri was lost to the waves. To see he survived... he is relieved. To learn he lived on the Isle of vices, though... he is... less so. To think, a... eugh, 'son' of Aurion spent his life debased by the lesser-minded kind who sought easy pleasures instead of embracing a higher purpose.
Pascal is nice! Conch is happy that they enjoy their work with Marsh. After all, there's nothing more fulfilling than being friends with your chosen aurubi!
