Ryuuda at first believed Mythio to be an arrogant little loudmouth, before seeing his impressive feats of strength firsthand and growing jealous. Desperate to save face in front of his crew, he began challenging the young man to all manner of contests, hoping to outdo him and put Mythio in his place. He quickly lost sight of this goal however as he began to have fun competing, and the two formed a friendship and rivalry.
Impressed with his strength, Ryuuda eventually invited Mythio aboard his crew, in hopes of continuing their competition until he had proven himself the victor. Easily frustrated by his losses to the younger man, Ryuuda takes advantage of Mythio's loyal obedience and childishly assigns him seemingly impossible and pointless tasks, only to grow more frustrated when Mythio accomplishes them with aplomb anyway.
Mythio and Ryuuda's equal levels of ego and bravado often clash, sparking a friendly rivalry between the two men, each eager to outdo the other in any manner of competition they come across. Although their tempers get the better of them sometimes, their rivalry is good-natured, and they have an unspoken respect for one another, enjoying a good laugh together when all is said and done.
Mythio genuinely believes himself to be Ryuuda's superior in most respects, but remains loyal to him as captain out of a sense of honour. He considers the obedience of this heirarchy to be completely separate from their personal competitions.
Having been raised together, Mythio and 'Tatters' consider each other to be identical twins, and are both very confused when anyone points out that they don't look anything alike. The two also firmly believe they are Giants, despite all evidence to the contrary, and have no concept of their separate heritages.
Mythio is easily frustrated by his sister, finding her anxious nature to be annoying and unfitting for a warrior of Elbaf. He quickly dismisses her concerns, even when they're incredibly reasonable, in favour of doing what he wants. This leads to the siblings quarreling often.
Despite this however, he loves Tattle dearly. He would never admit to admiring her strength, envious that it came more naturally to her than him, but has every confidence that she can handle herself.
Having been raised together, Tattle and 'Miffy' consider each other to be identical twins, and are both very confused when anyone points out that they don't look anything alike. The two also firmly believe they are Giants, despite all evidence to the contrary, and have no concept of their separate heritages.
Tattle is overprotective of her brother, having grown up seeing him struggle and work hard to keep up with her and those around them, and babies him somewhat as a result. The more reponsible of the pair, she grows easily frustrated with his thrill-seeking whims and criticises him for being stubborn, particularly regarding their return to Elbaf.
Although they argue a lot, the twins love each other dearly. Tattle admires how hard Mythio works and is proud of how strong he has become, but simply cannot help but fret over him and worry when he's in danger, causing him continuing irritation.

Encountering Nero after she was separated from her crew, Ryuuda took her aboard and eventually saw her reunited with her beloved Captain Kuro, only to witness her be betrayed and nearly killed by the villainous cur. Furious to see her treated this way despite her loyalty, Ryuuda took it upon herself to leap to her defense and fight Kuro for her honour.
Following this turmoil, Ryuuda officially took her in, insisting that her home was with him and his crew. Her gratitude quickly grew into affection and the two became a loving couple. Eventually, Ryuuda and Nero marry and have a litter of catlike children: daughters Ryuuko, Rossa and Gatta, and son Drago.
Ryuuda is so proud of his incredible wife and amazing kids, adoring and doting on all of them to an obnoxious degree. He loves Nero's fiery spirit and confident strength, and he isn't too shy to be lovey-dovey with her in front of his crew and kids.
Mimi thinks Fonia is a nice and friendly girl... because she is unable to process her frequent insults well enough to realise that they even are insults.
Fonia constantly mocks Mimi and thinks of her as a lazy simpleton, despite the fact that, unlike Fonia, Mimi spends most of her day actually doing her job. Mimi's inability to register her insults and her friendly responses makes Fonia frustrated, unable to comprehend what a cowardly simpleton she must be.
Fonia is extremely resentful towards Kotakota, as the young girl unwittingly usurped her position as the ship's cook. As well as this, she gets extremely jealous seeing her beloved Prince dote on the young girl instead of on her.
With her high society upbringing, she is quick to look down upon the islander as 'primitive' and make many false assumptions about her intelligence and culture. Kotakota's payback in the form of constant pranks is endlessly bothersome.
Kotakota greatly enjoys spending time with Fonia, thinking her snobbish way of talking is something she puts on to be funny, as she of course is unfamiliar with the concept of nobility. As she's prone to reacting in such an exaggerated manner, Fonia is one of Kotakota's favourite targets when it comes to her playful mischief.
She is unaware that Fonia had no interest or say in her rescue, and so extends the same gratitude towards her as she does those that genuinely wanted to help her. As such, she views Fonia as something of a bratty big sister, the teenage kind you can tease a lot.
Peacock is practically powerless before the adorable might of her youngest crewmate. Captivated by Kotakota's youthful cuteness, she frequently fawns over her and would do just about anything to win the prize of a nice hug from her little buddy.
Desparate to please the girl and win her affections, Peacock often spoils Kotakota rotten. Particularly when shopping, she buys her anything she asks for and even an abundance of things that she doesn't. She has regretfully demolished her savings on more than one ocassion in this manner.
She is fully aware that Kotakota is knowingly taking advantage of her weakness, but Peacock's frustrations with the dynamic lie solely with herself for continuing to allow it to happen. Even when pranked by the girl, her attempts to scold her quickly melt away due to her own sense of adoration. But having seen the ways Kotakota has suffered, Peacock is happy to put a smile on her face any way she can despite these frustrations.
Kotakota looks up to Peacock both literally and figuratively, admiring her the kind of cool, powerful and intelligent woman that she hopes to become herself someday. This does not in any way bar her from the girl's practical jokes however.
In addition, Kotakota quickly picked up on the swordfighter's affinity for cute things, delighted to realise that that included herself. As such, she cheekily manipulates Peacock into giving her what she wants with ease, playing up her cuteness to reliably see herself get satisfyingly spoiled. She knows as long as she calls her 'auntie' now and then and offers a little hug sometimes, Peacock is putty in her hands.
Although she has fun manipulating Peacock in this way, deep down Kotakota does appreciate her affections and doesn't mind being fawned over in the slightest. She may pretend she's only offering cuddes to get what she wants, but she secretly does find them very comforting. She adores her Auntie Peacock!
Jinks fails to understand why Fonia has been kept aboard the ship, but is not one to question the Captain's word. As such, they tolerate her despite her horrible attitude, particularly towards them, and limits themself to criticising her work ethic. Unlike Ryuuda, they do not allow Fonia to slack on her duties, and takes advantage of her fear of them to encourage her to make more of an effort.
Fonia is horrified by Jinks' very existence and cannot stand to be around them, as just looking at them makes her skin crawl. She's not shy about voicing this either, loudly insulting and shaming them for their skeletal nature. She is genuinely scared of them, seeing them as a grotesque reminder of her own mortality, and cannot stand any interaction with them.
Initially believing the concept of the chain of command went against his ideas of a free life, Prince formed great admiration for Jinks regardless, admiring their strength and experience. As such, he follows the First Mate's orders more diligently than those of his Captain, always showing great respect and striving not to disappoint them.
Jinks is strict with Prince, but from a place of high expectations for the boy seeing the potential of a great seafarer in him. Thus they push him to do things properly, sternly criticising his shortcomings in hopes that he learns from his mistakes.
After plenty of negative experiences with medical professionals, Prince was instinctively distrusting of Ramsbane as first, stubbornly opposed to the idea having a doctor aboard the ship. This unfair aggression caused plenty of friction between the two, with Prince refusing any examination or care.
After being wounded in a battle however, Prince found himself in a situation where Ramsbane's urgent care was necessary. Reluctantly having his biology revealed to the man upset him greatly, but fortunately Ramsbane sternly assured him that it would not be a problem between the two, surprising Prince after a lifetime of disapproval from the royal doctors of his home.
With this acceptance and understanding, Prince trusted Ramsbane as the ship's doctor from then on, showing him more respect and regretting his previous behaviour. Although the two continue to get on each others nerves on a personal level, arguing often, their camaraderie beneath that stands strong.
Ramsbane was not fond of Prince to begin with, finding the boy unnecessarily stubborn and aggressive towards him. Determining that it must be a childish fear of the doctor, the two were prone to arguing until Ramsbane dismissed any care of him in frustration.
Eventually however, following a battle in which Prince is wounded, the doctor forcibly treats him and realises why he'd been hesitant in the first place. After frustratedly berating the boy for not simply disclosing his biological sex in a professional manner, Ramsbane understood and assured him that he'd be a respectful doctor that would treat him like any other patient, winning his trust.
Since then, the two have been on better terms, though Ramsbane still thinks of him as a bit of a brat. The friction between them, though eased up, lingers a bit, persists to see them argue and get on each others nerves. But while they don't exactly buddy-up, there is a respect and trust between them that sees Ramsbane care for his wellbeing.
