[Mentor] If there’s one person in the world Sorin actually trusts, it’s her.
[Mentee] Affection… and a lot of worry. Sorin took what she taught him and went on to do more dangerous things than she ever imagined. She’s proud of his work, but can’t imagine living like that, trusting no one and always looking over his shoulder is easy.
[Brother] Near strangers. They’ve run into each other, but Brand is unaware of them being family. At most, Brand respects him… and is a little envious of his looks.
[Brother] Aelric doesn’t realize his brother is still alive, so he never noticed Brand much, beyond being a fellow adventurer. Aelric might have been able to recognize him if Brand hadn’t transed his gender and changed his name, but what can you do, right?
Brand thinks he and Surya are friends, but he's honestly not sure how he feels about them. He barely knows them, but somehow he feels safe with them.
Thinks of Brand as a mentee, perhaps even... a friend? They do care about him, but good luck hearing them say that.
He thinks of Lysander as a good and reliable friend, appreciating that he's not put off by the demonic rumors about him. Brand seems oblivious to Lysander's romantic interest- not entirely his fault, as the guy will flirt with anyone, how is he supposed to tell when it's genuine?
Initially started being nice to Brand after seeing that he didn't seem to have any friends, and found him really sweet. Being a romantic, Lysander eventually fell into an unrequited love for him, but he respects Brand's apparent lack of interest.
(half sibling) Deep down, Marquis is still bitter that Nico never did more to help him when they were young. In present time, Marquis has already given up on getting to know Nico again, finding it clear Nico still doesn't want anything to do with him even all these years later.
(half sibling) As kids, Nico mostly stuck with Mads -his full sibling and closer to his age- so he never got close with Marquis. He was kind of a brat to him, always making Marquis feel unwanted. Now that they've grown up and found each other again, Nico hoped they could reconcile. But now Marquis is the mean one, and he's been nasty about something he's not aware affects Nico. Nico has trouble trusting him.
(siblings) Mads is deeply protective of Nico. He's their little brother, after all, and he's in need of help. Since childhood, they've always had to be the tough one, stable for their younger siblings.
(siblings) Nico and Mads were already close before Nico was sent away, bonded by the mutual trauma of their upbringings. When they were reunited, A lot about them both had changed, but they still understand each other. Nico is a little dependent on Mads, since they're really the only one helping him. He does his best to help them in return.
(half sibling) They hadn't seen each other for nearly 15 years, and they're practically strangers. Marquis gets the idea that Mads doesn't like him, and he's not going to press a relationship if they don't want to. Family means little more than a coincidence to Marquis.
(half sibling) They aren't close. Mads still resents him for some things that happened during childhood, even though they know logically it wasn't his fault. Even so, only they really understand how messed up each others childhoods were. Mads would like to offer Marquis some support, but he doesn't make it easy for them to work through their own resentment.
The two came to the country around the same time, and temporarily stayed in the same shelter. Anton was looking for allies and found Methuselah very impressive, but Methuselah turned him down at the time, not interested in any trouble. Anton chalked it up to "alright, but don't come crying to me later."
Methuselah truly doesn't mind Anton, patiently putting up with his antics. He even finds him endearing in some moments. He never thought Anton would be anything more than an interesting acquaintance.
Anton truly does respect Methuselah for his strength, just as much as he's amused by his misfortunes. Anton hits on Methuselah frequently, and does find him attractive, but he seems to be joking more than anything.
(Married) Solarion is the absolute love of his life. Maloran is completely content with him. Maloran often can't resist teasing him with silly pet names, but Solarion is so head-over-heels he doesn't even mind.
(Married) Solarion loves Maloran dearly, and can't even imagine what his life would be like if they'd never met, or if he lost him. Naturally, Solarion feels very protective of him.
Love and devotion. In private with Diya is the only time he feels truly comfortable, able to vulnerable about his emotions and get the support he needs. He's attentive to her needs as well, happy when she's happy.
Though initially resistant to the betrothal, she grew to love him as they first became friends, then started to have serious discussions about their future relationship. They decided that they wanted to respect each other, and not have the cold, unloving marriages both their parents had had. Love came along naturally over time.
