But really, I'm still surprised I had the motivation to draw so much back then. Why don't I have that drive now? WHY DO I TAKE SO LONG TO DRAW

I've also looked at a lot of the characters that don't have a "needsref" tag and determined YOUR "REFS" ARE TOO OLD NOW, so I'm forcing myself to draw better art of some of them. There's something about the slight change in art style I've recently had where I'm not all that happy with certain pictures from only 2 or 3 years ago... so I gotta redraw those ones I don't like... which means about 70 of my characters now have a "newref" tag for me to redraw. But I'll probably wait until I get through the "needsref" tag... which consists of 272 characters still. I thought I made more progress on that...

I apparently love burying myself in unattainable goals. Some things never change. XP

Multiple characters per image works now? GREAT, but now I have to go through all my images and get rid of all the duplicates. 

More horizontal space on my profiles since that big side box is reduced? GREAT, but now I have no reservations about adding new Basic Info fields to everyone so I'll have to sweep through all these hundreds of dorks to add them. I always thought about adding birthplaces and hometowns to profiles, but didn't know where to put it. WELL NOW THERE'S PLENTY OF ROOM GREAT GREAT

Also I was like almost done making PDF backups of all my profiles, but now that profile layout look different now I'll have to resave all the ones I already did because it'll bother me even if the text is all that matters. I think I was like on page 13 out of 19, so 18 characters per page times 13 equals TOO MANY actually 234 BUT STILL TOO MANY GREAT GREAT GREAT IT'S NO USE

Site kinda sucks on mobile now too, but whatever. I should go to bed. Plenty of work to do when I'm not loopy.

Okay, it's been like 5 months since I hit the 300 character mark and said I'd slow down making profiles until I catch up with completing all their info. I've got like 30 or so left to do but I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER DX I'm itching to make more MORE MOAR and like, the 30 that still have unfinished profiles for the most part only need their physical description or clothing description sections... and that would require me to actually draw/redesign a lot of them, which is going to take way too long considering how slow I can be with my art. ^^;

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I'm gonna go back to making more profiles. I don't care if this means they'll have no art or only a crappy photo of a doodle from a decade ago or from my college notes or something. If I feel like writing their profile, I ain't gonna wait until they have some pretty visuals to go along with it. I hope this means I'll be reasonable with how many new profiles I'll make and their pacing... buuuuuuuuuuut there's the distinct possibility I might just dump a buttload of them all at once so that 30 ends up being a higher number all over again. Brace for potential notification-avalanches you probably won't care about, is what I'm saying. XP

A Lady's quest for documenting all her babies never ends...

SO, I figured since I hit another milestone of sorts, mostly thanks to that NaProWriMo list, I should probably cut down on the new profile creation until I catch up with completing what I already have. And even the 30 I picked out for last month aren't all completed. I only finished about 12 of them and none of them have refs yet, so I've decided to make this December dedicated to drawing them, no alliteration intended.

SOOOOOOO if anyone wants to help guide me with a few suggestions, I'm all for it. Otherwise I'll probably just tackle the characters from last month and then work on others when the inspiration strikes. I'm also gonna slap a new counter here so I can keep track of how much further I need to go, because "I still have 5 pages of characters to write about" doesn't really tell me a lot. XD

I think the vast majority of those incompleted profile people are included in the lacking-personal-art category. ^^; So if any of y'all wanna help me out, just pick a handful or a dozen people for me to consider starting with, because I obviously have a lot of choices. Some of them have incompleted profiles because I need to actually redesign them, therefore I don't know what they are going to look like and can't complete some of the physical description/clothing sections. You don't even need a cool reason to pick them.You can pick someone because you like what I had written so far but they need a reference, or maybe they have a sort-of reference and you want me you draw it for realsies, or maybe you just thought their name sounded halfway interesting. XP I'm not picky.

I've got 4 particular characters that belong to friends on here, but they're not making accounts and just let me handle the profile making since I do all the story writing anyway. XP We all happen to have GaiaOnline accounts though, so I'm gonna dump all their avatar art onto their characters' accounts. I have no idea how many I haven't already uploaded, but I suspect it'll be plenty to spam people with. Whoops.

Should've done this a long time ago, but looking up Gaia user profiles from years ago take a lot of time... especially when you have to creep through your friends' post histories so you can find the art threads they posted in because the artist changed their username or whatever. But I did it for all 142 of my own avatar arts (because I'm a shameless art hoarder), and I'll do it all over again for these dorks.

Thankfully none of them hoard art as hardcore as I do, or I'd be here for days... TALLY HO LET'S GO

IT'S RAMBLING TIME:

About four years ago I was working on a story called Clocktower Fare, a substory of the main arc of Delinked. It involved a pair of old characters of mine, Volkmar and Alec, going off on another awful adventure, except this was the first time at actually getting a story for them down with chapters and all that jazz, mostly because it was for a creative writing class at the time (BECAUSE I'M DUMB AND ALWAYS WRITE FROM THE MIDDLE OF A SERIES SCREW EXPOSITION HUR HUR).

I got really into this story, not just because it involved them, but beause basically the entire plot came to me in one massive dream. I knew where it was going, start to finish, which I could rarely say about so many of my stories that are stuck in limbo at the moment. And it spawned a bunch of cool new characters that I got obsessed with. Volkmar suddenly had a new younger cousin. Why? Because the dream said so. He suddenly had a new guardian devil named Abel. Why? The dream said so. They were facing off against a psychotic, monochromatic, literal-handsome-looking-devil named Kain who insisted that his name was not spelled with a C yet he still hellbent on destroying Abel. The villain's girlfriend was a moderately British steampunk with Sailor Moon hair and his right hand man was played by Criss Angel for some unknown reason and the idea stuck, including the cat. There was a hugeass lycan having a rivalry with another creature that would end up being a perverted multiarmed harpy lady. There was a buttload of random human looking devils trying to break out of the realm. There was a devil disguising himself as a minister so he could more easily brainwash a lost angel into fighting against the other devils. ALL BECAUSE OF THAT ODDLY SPECIFIC DREAM. I think the only section I removed was when they stopped for takeout at the Chinese devil restaurant, BUT I STILL REMEMBER.

I got soooooo into this story, even though I only got four chapters in, one chapter for every quarter of my senior year of high school. It was rad, getting feedback from an entire class of people, people actually discussing my characters and their development and the story. I still have the excessive stacks of everyone's copy of each chapter and all their comments written. And those are biiiiiig stacks considering how long my chapters got... I spent almost every moment of that year thinking about that story, those characters, doodling them in my notebooks, writing random scenarios with them, all that jazz.

WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY CURRENT STINT OF CONFUSION.

Hey me. What? You really love these characters, right? Duh. You love everything to do with them, right? Yesssss...? You remember that one time your were really bored and thinking about how to design the minor characters... Wait. ...and then your sister showed you something she found on DA... WAIT NO AND IT WAS A PONY MAKER PLEASE STOP AND YOU TURNED ALL OF THEM INTO PONIES I PROMISED I WOULDN'T BRING IT UP TO THEM AGAIN AND YOU SHOULD TOTALLY POST THEM IN THEIR GALLERIES I AM POSITIVE THAT VOLKMAR WOULD TEAR OUT MY THROAT SO EVERYONE CAN SEE THEIR PONY GLORY AUGH

I forgot I did that for a long time, and now it's coming back to me like a heat seeking bullet train with fourty thousand cars full of boomerangs. Part of me really wants to do this, but the other part of me thinks this is really really silly. It would serve no purpose since none of the pony pictures would actually be relevant to them since there is no way I am doing any sort of pony AU with them WHY NOT SHUT UP I'M TALKING and second off, I'd feel sooooooo bad for the handful of minor characters who don't have a reference yet so the only picture they'd have would be the pony picture. XD And chances are, when I go to draw those characters for the first time I'm gonna end up referencing those pony pictures because they still have the same color schemes and styles I wanted to go for. It... just... seems... really... silly... and... pointless...
