Who? Sorry, Sam doesn't remember losers.
Rory usually tries to keep an open mind and give people second chances. Samael may qualify as an exception to this.
Quella's a larger-than-life type of person, in that she's obscenely cool from the outside looking in. But she can be rash, and she's distrustful. Rory knows this from being her friend a few years running, now. Still, she's a good person who wants to protect others, at heart, and Rory does care about her well-being.
Rory's actually really cool. From the start she's been reasonable and trusted his good intentions, Cephus finds her really easy to get along with. She's always very level-headed and playful and isn't afraid to say what she thinks, but always frames it in a kind way. It bothers him that she's not trusting him in the current situation, but he knows if anyone's going to listen to reason, or figure out the truth themself, it'd be her.
Cephus is a genuinely kind and level-headed guy, which is why this whole situation with the admin really seems out of place to Rory. It just doesn't seem like him to turn on his friends, especially after Samael and the others did that exact thing to him. Even back when they were in rivaling circles, he was never mean to them. She just feels like she's missing something important. She hopes they'll be able to sort through everything and bring him home, soon.
Rod once hit on Julia and she punched them out. Now that they know romance is off the table, they get along famously.
Rod had a huge crush on Julia since they were kids, but after a while she got fed up with their pursuits and beat them up. They finally got the message, and no longer expects anything more than a friendship, even if they still like her quite a bit. They're really close friends.
Rod's a dumbass, but they're their dumbass. Sam's been through enough with the guy that they're basically family. And it certainly doesn't hurt Sam's ego that they'll listen to him without question.
Sam's a really smart guy, and Rod trusts his judgment more than anyone else. Has he ever led them astray? Yes. Does that change Rod's mind? No.
Sam used to harbor a deep, dark jealousy of Pandora. She was a loser, but she was happy and confident despite that, and everywhere she went people seemed to gravitate towards her. The more Sam tried to get people to see how pathetic she really was, the more they sided with her and turned on him. Even his best friend started to be pulled in, and it made Sam furious. She kept getting success after success, until he couldn't stand to sit idle and let her get all that undeserved praise. So he ousted his (former) best friend and got the rest of their gang to help him try hijack her next adventure. It didn't go well.
Now, having a few years to step back, Sam regrets his actions. He still doesn't know if he could get along with Pandora, but he can admit that he overreacted and very little, if any, of his bitterness and jealousy was actually her fault. He doesn't know how he'd even approach trying to make up for it all, and he doesn't know if he'll even ever get a chance.
Rory is Dora's oldest friend, and maybe the smartest person he knows. She's handy, generous, insightful, basically all the best traits a person could have rolled into one. He loves her dearly. They started as a couple of underdogs together and they're tight as ever at the top, now.
Dora and Rory go WAY back, they've been close friends for years and ran a two-man building team for almost as long. He's always been really interested in her passions, and they'd always dreamed of becoming heroes together. Rory never imagined they'd actually do so, but is so proud to have a friend like him by her side. Dora is very important to her.
Pandora is the single most formidable mortal warrior Romulus has ever known, which is why she caught his interest so thoroughly to begin with. He was so fascinated he went out of his way to gives her challenges, which then turned to actually trying to kill her when she beat trial after trial and began coming straight for him. And even after he began getting lethal, she won again and again, until she fought her way right to his doorstep and beat the godhood out of him. If it weren't for her (then-inconsequential, in his eyes) friend, she would have left him to be swallowed by the void.
Romulus still holds a healthy respect for her, and knows better than anyone that she's strong enough to kill a god if she set her mind to it. Still, she's consistently uncharitable towards him, and maybe he deserves that, yeah, but it makes it hard to remain unproblematic when his buttons are constantly being pushed. He's still on pretty rocky terms with Pandora, despite now being technically one of her citizens.
Rod was one of Cephus' childhood friends, though they ended on bitter terms and he hasn't seen them in years. They're a simple guy, the type of person you never had to worry about what they were really thinking, because they'd tell you frankly. They were a genius when it came to color palettes, and was usually in charge of that when the group built together. Cephus may have missed them, at first, but has since grown a little bitter at how it all ended.
Cephus used to be one of Rod's closest friends, and the one they originally followed unquestioningly. But then he started being friendly to the losers that they were supposed to hate, and Sam suggested they didn't HAVE to follow him blindly anymore. So they followed Sam blindly and kicked Cephus out of the group. He did it to himself, and Rod still doesn't feel bad about it.
Julia's a real piece of work. The most aggressive person Cephus thinks he's ever met. She was the one who always did the most heavy lifting when it came to their builds, not having much of an artistic eye, but being pretty damn good at assembly. But in the end, it didn't take much for her to turn on him completely. Even though it's been a few years, Cephus is still hurt over the whole ordeal.
Cephus used to be cool, but then he hung around too many losers and absorbed their lameness. He proved his loyalties weren't with them, the people that had been by his side since the start, and Julia kinda thinks he sucks, now.
Cephus and Sam used to be really close. Of everyone in their little gang, he would have said they got along best. They both had a passion for architecture and a drive for justice that spurred them to act out. But the ultimate betrayal was Sam's, too. He was the one who took charge of their friends and turned them against Cephus, and he was the one who was willing to let him die in order to grab power. For years Cephus was blind to Sam's true nature, as a heartless egomaniac who gets off on hurting others. His actions still have Cephus dealing with trust issues and self-esteem, and he still holds a grudge.
Cephus is a bit annoying, but it's hard to deny he's a pretty cool guy. Yeah, ok, so maybe Sam was, kinda, just a bit, ever so slightly, a complete jerk to him. To put it lightly. It's something he regrets, turning on him. He was jealous of Pandora, who even his best friend seemed to like better than him. And now he's ruined that relationship forever, not even able to try make up since he's stuck in another world.
Dora is amazing. He's saved the day against impossible odds over and over. She's believed in Cephus enough to trust in his help, too, and Cephus rose to be capable of more than he'd ever thought just to meet those expectations. Sure, they haven't always seen eye to eye, but he thinks that's what makes them such a good team. He's known Dora for a few years, now, and has recently started to fall for the other man. Not that now's a great time to act on those feelings, though.
Cephus is one of Pandora's closer friends, though their jobs have made it so they don't see much of each other in the past year or so. He used to think he was an arrogant jerk, but he really proved himself over their shared adventures. Still, he can sometimes get on Pandora's nerves. Though, after recent events, he's begun to see Cephus in a new light; he was the only one to notice he's been possessed, and he was pretty cool when he vowed to save him. Pandora hopes he'll see it through, if only so he can thank him.
Quella is one of Cephus' childhood friends, and he used to have feelings for her for years. Only recently had he finally let go, seeing the way she pined for Pandora, and the way they were drifting apart. Still, it hurts that she turned on him so easily-- especially because she was the only childhood friend left after the others ditched him. Cephus isn't sure how to feel about her, now.
Cephus has always been a bit of an arrogant coward, but for as long as Quella's known him he's been kind and reliable. But lately, he's been warped by the admin's manipulation, and by the time Quella noticed it was too late to convince him. Now, he's turned his back on her and the rest of their friends to side with the admin, and even tried to hurt Pandora. Quella is just so angry and hurt, she can barely control it!
Cephus was definitely leery of Romulus to start with. He was... kinda psycho. Even so, he was Cephus' responsibility, and Cephus tries his best to give people second chances. He's since proven himself to be really trying to be better, and he's earned his trust. And with the way Cephus' other friends have been treating him, he might be the only real friend he has, now. He's very fond of Romulus.
When they first met, Romulus dismissed Cephus as weak, just Pandora's sidekick that made things slightly more annoying for him. And even when he saved his life, his opinions didn't change too much. It was only as Cephus taught him to survive as a mortal, to build and farm, to connect with others and accept help, did he start to slowly warm up to him. The more time he spent around the mortal, the more he became endeared to his kind nature and vast wealth of knowledge. By present day, he's fully attached, trusting Cephus' judgment more than his own. He's probably a bit overprotective.
Jules is Sam's younger sister, a real nuisance of a person who solves everything with a fist fight. She's arrogant and always gives Sam a hard time for no reason. Still, she's the most important person in his life. It's just been them against the world since they were kids, and now that they're living on another world she's one of the last bits of home he has left. Even though she's tough, he still worries about her sometimes. Not that he'd ever admit any of that.
Sam is Julia's idiot brother, and he's a big jerk and annoying, but since as long as she can remember they've only had each other to lean on. Not that she'd ever get mushy about it or whatever, gross. She'll still fight him any day of the week over the smallest arguments.
Tigerlily is head-over-heels for Leila. They formed a deep bond when they escaped the villain team, and she's felt this way ever since. She's confident and quick on her feet. She's wrapped around her little paw, though worries about her safety given her thieving lifestyle.
Leila loves Tigerlily, it's true. She feels something about her that she's never felt for anyone else. She's also one of the only people Leila'd trust with her life. However, she's worried about her safety, putting her trust in a trainer. She doesn't know how to convince her to get away, but the second she wants out Leila will be there to help her.
An extremely dangerous nukenin, and one Tsukiya has personal beef with. Each time they meet both come close to killing one another, but they both pull through to meet in battle once again. Tsukiya is inexplicably drawn to this enemy-- but knowing how that went for their cousin, they are deliberate about denying these feelings.
A powerful opponent Sakurako has met on the battlefield a number of times. The only person to come so close to killing her every time they've met, and against all reason she has insane respect for the other ninja. Would still kill her, but would be sad to see her go.
Toumin is not fond of the foxes at all.
Mom is scary!! But strong!
