Well - [looking away, quirking his lips a bit] I never like a showoff, at least not one THAT obnoxious, so she certainly gets on my nerves now and again, acting like our secondary leader. But that doesn't mean she isn't a treasured friend of mine, I feel a kindred spirit in her in ways I'm not sure how to describe. And that... Face... [he starts looking a little out of it] ... Maybe I should stop, haha...
Not every piece lay perfect.
Not every promise, true.
...A lie seen bare,
Was swiftly --
Renounced.
I'm sorry, but... there's nothing there. Are you alright? ...My vision is absolute. Perhaps more than you may even yet fathom. And I tell you...
I don't,
see anything.
... I saw you. What is your name, specter? I did not know I had a companion in this abandoned temple - do not be afraid, child. I know the halls of this temple well enough to guide you. [he assumes Revelation is lost. how presumptuous.]
(So quick to name me, 'specter,' 'child'... companion. You've become so comfortable here in my sanctuary, haven't you?
One name may prove. Let's see.)
... You know, I figured with how passionate you are about AI rights and robot liberation and all things of that sort - and don't get me wrong, it is a cause I support quite openly myself - that you'd be perhaps a bit less open to not demonizing our dear friend in what is quite clearly his time of need, and not some sort of preposterous plan to destroy everything. I suppose not all of us can avoid hypocrisy every time! [Pale Luna smiles.]
You know, I've only ever heard your voice, and yet these people practically worship you. What about you warrants this admiration? Another star outshines you.
It's terrible, when a family can't move on from a tragedy... when some, in their grief, shift the blame to an innocent party, incapable of dealing with their emotions any other way.
where is my brother you creeping mass of slime
O, Earthly Spirit,
Bound, Venerated -
By Flesh,
Beyond these walls is no greater paradise.
Beyond your name there is no greater word.
..When you found me, you were in chains.
Hiding your true nature, you suffered immensely.
Could there have been anything else I wanted..
But to become your 'key'?
I can conceive of no greater glory,
But to partake in yours.
The most loyal, faithful man that, perhaps, has ever walked this earth.
..what more do you expect me to say?
That he was incorrigible? That nothing could turn him away from trying to see me? That the way he looked at me--
Can you imagine the life he was headed for?
I couldn't bear it.
[looks around, making sure no one is listening in] I've found that Father Rennuid has dethroned me as God of my own life. Him and his peculiar circus act - I -- I shouldn't say that, I surprisingly, for once, don't think poorly of them for their faith. It's... Infectious. I covet it. There particularly are so many things I covet within these walls... Ehehehe, perhaps I ought confess my sin of envy?
[In confidence, to a questioning congregation member--] --Oh, but I do think he belongs here! There is nothing that sharpens the expression of faith quite like adversity - like a mind rife with questions, preeminent - that is, eager for succor! Don't you recall a time when you, yourself, had yet to understand God's truth? Do you not recall... that incomparable ecstasy, when your questions finally accepted the answer?
...Why are you looking at me like that? ..I - It's not strange for me to want that for him!
I can help you, madam. Here - I have this handmirror for you.
Oh, how kind... I will never forget what you have done for me, young miss.
Now, finally--
Buuo's the most interesting person I've ever met..! I could listen to them talk for ages - which is good, because my job involves a LOT of listening to them talking...
She was assigned to me as an aide, some time ago.. to be honest, I was very wary at first. She's barely old enough to claim a name, look at her..! At first, I was certain she was a plant by someone trying to keep tabs on me -- or a purposeful obstruction. But Zela turned out as neither of those things.
