An Omegaverse setting where Omegas are incredibly rare and, upon discovery during mandatory type-testing, are frequently given away by their families to whatever rich Alpha can pony-up the biggest dowry. The story revolves around an Alpha doctor who, when going over type-testing results, discovers that there is a single Omega confirmed at the institution where he works. Because he doesn't have the social standing or means to afford marriage to an Omega, he decides to forge false beta test results and use the time that buys him to properly woo the Omega.

In this world setting, there are four countries ruled over by five patron animal gods. To the South is Zhūquè the Vermillion Sparrow, and the nation of birds. To the North is Hyeonmu the unity of Tortoise and Snake, and a land populated with various reptiles. To the West is Baekho the White Tiger, and the united micronations of mamallian species. And to the East is Qīnglóng the Azure, and the kingdom of dragons. At the center of these nations, which are often at odds, lies a vast desert that the four directional nations regard as godless and barren, where they cast out their hybrids and other undesirables. There has arisen a tribe all its own, which pays homage to Húwáng the Fox King [and more recently, Gǒuwáng the Dog King].
SO ANYWAY lotsa magical animal people! The dragons are heavily associated with fish and water and stuff. Blue dragons are considered higher nobility, and physical traits that indicate that a Kirin has occurred in their recent bloodline [hooves, unicorn horns] are considered especially attractive and rare. Some dragon children are born as koi fish rather than fully-formed dragons, and with this heavy physical disadvantage comes powerful abilities as a clairvoyant - nobles often pay handsomely to 'adopt' Koi Oracles from whatever [typically poor] family they're born to, and keep them as closely guarded seers of fortune. I've done so much gott damn world building with this settling since High School that it's pretty dumb.
