Thinks he's pretty cool. Really admires his ninja shit and is ecstatic to learn from him.
Dua considers him a pretty decent friend, enough so that she was willing to allow him to take and train Nabila in his own way of fighting. She enjoys his company and conversation.
Damien first dropped by Diana's bar on a whim. Eager for conversation and company as always, it didn't take long for them to hit it off and become friends with benefits. They've slowly been growing closer but have yet to settle on an official status partly thanks to Damien's anxiety. While they're still technically an open relationship, Diana is definitely his main squeeze and he would be willing to settle into monogamy with her if she requested it - at least once his warlock problem is taken care of.
Loves his dumb face to bits and is gonna keep him around as long as absolutely possible.
Diana's kid - or at least that's what he started as. These days Damien is feeling a lot more fatherly to him, and it's not just because of his relationship with Kaipo's mom, Kaipo claimed him as his dad and Damien isn't about to tell this kid he's wrong when all of the pieces to that puzzle are already there. He adores Pobear and would do anything for him, especially if it means spoiling him with gifts or letting him get away with things his mom usually wouldn't.
Das his papa. He lov him.
To put it in simplest terms, Diana really saved his ass. Gabe was in dire need of employment and Diana was suffering without an accountant. Now he's running numbers for her bar in quite literally the most comfortable and fulfilling job he has ever had. He's grateful to her more than he can say, and not just because of the paycheck; it's a nice bonus that she doubles as a friend as well as a reasonable boss.
Diana, being desperate for friends and an accountant, literally couldn't have been happier with meeting Gabe. He has answered her damn dreams like a Knight in a shroud of mathematical wonder and snarky friendship. She adores him and his sarcastic and witty nature. She may have only just met him somewhat recently, but she already has basically adopted him as a brother.
They have a pretty decent working relationship, if one of them needs something done and the other is around they'll invite them to join in the spoils, but they don't go out of their way to get a hold of the other.
have we even met
Maybe his father-in-law?? He doesn't know, this guy is a lot to handle and probably gives Cami headaches. Tolerates him probably the least of his brother's acquaintances.
Leialel is undoubtedly one of Sam's most treasured students from his time in Heaven. She worked with him in Makon, assisting the ishim in their care of the mortal souls that would soon be ready for birth. He feels some guilt and responsibility for having to leave his position as her overseer in the Fifth Heaven and not being able to assist her during the difficult times that followed, but now Leia seems to be thriving away from the Firmament's strict machinations and he couldn't be happier for her.
Was once her boss and really misses when she worked for him. Definitely prefers him over Ezekiel. Now that she's wandering Earth, she likes visiting him now and then and spending down time with him. Jokingly calls him dad sometimes.
Is conflicted about his angelic status. Not exactly pleased that his presence makes her question her religious beliefs, but is willing to deal with that since Kaipo is so enamored with him.
Reiki thinks he's pretty swell. Also thinks its amusing to have an actual angel around. Likes bantering about western magic users and how open they are in their practices.
Truly his closest and most treasured mentor, Uriel served as Samael's tutor and older sister figure for most of his time in Heaven. She was also his fiercest advocate leading up to his banishment. Undoubtedly the Chief Angel he connected with best, he is endlessly grateful they have still managed to maintain a strong bond to this day. The times she can spare to visit are highly anticipated, and where Samael gets most of his updates of the goings on across the Firmament.
Wants to help him live his dAMN LIFE. Loves him to bits and wants to be able to be a stable place for him to feel safe and loved and has made it her goal to make him smile at least once a day. Her closest friend in Silent Hill.
In his younger days Anael was a student, a friend, and a trusted ally. He put his faith in her whenever he needed to choose partners for any given task, and he appreciated the compassion Anael showed for Lilith when she fled Eden. Samael does not get to see Anael overly much, but every time he does he counts as a treat and is sure to share with her whatever new earthly spoils he thinks might strike her fancy.
Anael finds herself enamored with Samael's seeming determination. She always finds herself excited on the chance to sit and have tea with him again.
A fellow patient at Brookhaven, Ian met Julien during his first migration to the lower security floor. Julien is fearful of Ian and Ian has not allowed himself to get close enough to Julien to see benefit to the contrary. The only good thing he can bring himself to say about Julien is that the man keeps his head down and stays out of other people's business. It took several months for Ian to begrudgingly accept the reality that Julien is a completely harmless person, and in fact is more likely to be a victim than cause anyone trouble on purpose. This marks one of the first instances where Ian has felt sympathy toward another man and it puts Ian in a decidedly uncomfortable position; he tries not to think too much about it, or about Julien for that matter, which is fine as the two rarely see each other.
During his time in Brookhaven Julien met Ian Scarlet, a fellow patient who had only recently been granted privilege to be moved down from the high security wing on the upper floor. They shared a room with two other men and Julien quickly learned to give Ian a wide berth when an all out brawl broke out between all three of his other roommates. Ian's aggression did meet him as well but Julien never retaliated and it was his decision to cower when faced by the much smaller young man that seemed to keep Ian off of his back. So long as Julien kept his head down, stayed out of Ian's way, and was causing no trouble for the nurses or any female patients, Ian left him well enough alone. Julien has no interest in getting to know Ian better and is frankly very nervous whenever Ian is around.
they bumped into each other through their similar trade during his time in limbo after lilith went to hell, they aren't friends per se but they are contacts that trust each other's opinions and would be willing to vouch for one another if ever needed
anubis maybe kinda sorta kinda had a little baby crush on sam for a hot minute due to their similar ideals and overlapping trade (he's also just.... handsome... what the hell), he sees sam as someone who understands mortality on the same level that he does, as even many death counselors have difficulty with their sympathies toward human spirits, but these days he simply considers samael a trustworthy contact and trusts his insight to the human condition
While Samael did not get the opportunity to grow close to Phanuel before his banishment, he has become increasingly interested in the advancements that Phanuel has set forth throughout Heaven. From the creation of further servant angels beyond the Ishim to their push for alternatives in the wake of so many devastating banishments, Phanuel strikes Samael as a pragmatic and proactive angel that he now wishes he could have gotten to know better in his earlier years.
Phanuel did not interact with Samael directly much and felt ambivalent toward his banishment. That said, Phanuel has never once advocated for any angel's banishment and was one of the first archangels to offer an alternative option to the Chiefs.
Gabriel and Mikhael were always the more mysterious of the four Chief Angels to Samael. He never knew them as well as Uriel and Rafael, and they were often too busy with their own duties to give him the time of day. Even now Samael feels as though he understands Gabriel the least for how much she kept to herself, but he at least knows she is steadfast and loyal to their Almighty's will in defense of the mortal spirit.
Gabriel was far from one of the accusers advocating for Samael's banishment, though neither did she rally against it. While Mikhael's decision was something of a shock to the other chiefs, Gabriel was there to lend an impartial word that ultimately decided his fate. She has had little interest in Samael's status since, but in the centuries following she has had time to reflect and found the forceful banishment of their brethren increasingly distasteful.
On the whole, Stolas seems like a fairly harmless demon and so Samael finds no difficulty in tolerating the Prince of Greed's presence on the odd occasion their paths cross. It is always with Malphas in tow, so they have never interacted in private, but Samael supposes that is for the best as the only things they seem to have in common are their shared interest in human magic and an endearment toward the Crow Lord.
Samael is difficult for Stolas to understand. He knows that Samael is an important friend to Malphas, so he aims to be respectful, but it completely eludes him why the fallen angel doesn't just resign himself to Hell like the rest of his ilk after thousands of years. On his own, Stolas finds Samael a confusing albeit thoroughly boring prospect but he delights in joining Malphas on visits just to see what sort of antics they get up to.
Leonard is a demon Samael knows better by reputation than personal dealings, though they have had some glancing encounters before. Sam finds the demon to be distasteful, both for his hand in the Satanic craft of warlock cults and the bitter feelings that Baphomet carries for him. On the whole, however, Samael does not see Leonard as an imposing threat but rather more of a nuisance.
Samael isn't exactly on Leonard's radar but they have had encounters before, specifically in the 1950s when he was attempting to amass a conglomeration of warlocks and the angel sabotaged his efforts. To put it simply, Leonard is quite displeased with Samael but understands that their vendetta isn't personal and he certainly doesn't expect the same angel to keep knocking him back down when there are so many other things to tend to.
In their earliest years, Samael considered himself and Lucifer brothers - twins of separate choirs, born together as the first of their bands. They stuck close to one another while new angels sprang up around them and became like mentors to many of the younger angels in their respective choirs. Samael was the first angel that Lucifer approached in favor of his rebellion but he was also the first to decline. Samael has not seen or spoken to Lucifer in thousands of years but he still considers Lucifer his brother, however estranged they may be. He believes Lucifer to be misguided and foolhardy but not beyond negotiation. It is a personal theory of Samael's that if Lucifer wanted the Apocalypse then it would have happened long ago.
Lucifer was born as the first of the Seraphim and Samael the first of the Malakhim; two separate choirs of angels, but they were brought into the world together and for a thousand years they stuck close to each other like brothers. When Lucifer felt unrest, he would always confide in Samael first before taking action, so when he came to his twin in the hopes of recruiting him for a rebellion he felt most justified, Lucifer took Samael's rejection as a deep betrayal. It was Mikhael that cast Lucifer down and ended the war, but he and Samael crossed swords many times. Since his fall and assuming his role as the ruler of Hell, Lucifer has not given his brother much thought, nor the other angels for that matter.
Iblis was an angel Sam was never close to, though they were one of many among his choir. They fought against each other during Lucifer's rebellion but their interactions prior were limited to a distant mentorship like many other malakhim. Samael does not know much of his status now, save for his rank as ruler of the Circle of Wrath and the new name he goes by.
Sathanus never felt much more than respect for Samael as his elder. Since falling, he has had more time to reflect on the failings of their heavenly war and Sathanus sometimes finds himself lingering on questions of loyalty. He still does not understand why Samael would have turned down Lucifer's offer, nor why he continues to linger in the company of humans instead of following the rest of his family down when Heaven rejected him, but Samael in particular does not occupy much of Sathanus' thoughts.
