Gino considers Bliss a very good friend. He does not and has never judged him for his lifestyle and in fact finds him rather intriguing. Ever since Bliss started helping him with strange letters from a “mysterious secret admirer”, they have grown rather close and often spend a lot of time together. He doesn’t realize it, but his inspiration for his passion has gradually increased ever since they met. Regrettably, he is completely oblivious to the way the other looks at him, so much so that Seif and Euphemia have a large bet on when he’ll realize it.
While Gino is a very kind and caring person, he is also easy to wound emotionally. Elliot’s hostile and abrupt end to their rather long-term, low-profile relationship put a very large scar on his heart that won’t seem to heal no matter what he does. He is still polite and cordial to Elliot, but a vague skittishness underlies most of their interactions. Aside from the misunderstanding of Fintan’s untimely death, he still doesn’t quite understand exactly what he’s done wrong to make Elliot hate him so coldly. It’s something that eats away at his sanity daily despite the friendly face he always wears. He craves the happy, good old days, but deep down he knows he’s never getting them back.
To Gino, his niece is a little angel who could do no wrong. He adores her and is not unlike a father figure to her. He often takes care of her more than Euphemia does without complaint. In fact, Anaïs is often mistaken for his daughter. He finds immense joy in teaching her about music and has even started teaching her how to read sheet music and play the piano on a basic level. Although because of all his attention, he’s accidentally made her a little bit spoiled.
Gino is very close to his sister, and is somewhat dependent on her. While they have many siblings, they were only ever able to form a bond with each other and have been with each other through thick and thin their whole life. It’s difficult for Gino to say no to her and often enables her bad habits without realizing it. He does everything in his power to make sure she’s okay, even when it’s something he physically cannot fix on his own. He often berates himself when he’s not able to help her and it’s something he’s trying to work on.
To ordinary people, Seif’s feelings towards Elliot might seem rather petty. However he believes the burning hate he feels toward him is nothing but deserved. Seif makes his dislike for him quite obvious and it’s been the cause of many a dispute among their coterie of friends. Seif will never forgive Elliot for what he’s done, and avoids him as much as humanly possible. He despises his black and white view of thinking and their almost opposite morals clash against each other quite harshly.
While he is hesitant to say it in front of others, Anaïs is all but the light of Seif’s life. He was there when she was born, and he cried when Euphemia asked him to be Anaïs godfather. Like the rest of the family, Seif would lay down his own life for her at the drop of a hat. He’s often found himself tutoring her and teaching her things other children take years to learn. In a way, he sees her as his own daughter...
At first, Seif found Euphemia to be nigh insufferable. But after accidentally finding out something that was never intended to see the light of day, his big bleeding heart got the better of him. Nowadays they are just as close as they are with Gino, and Seif often lets Euphemia confide in him as they share a somewhat similar struggle. Seif is just as protective of Euphemia as he is Gino, even if she keeps trying to get him to be a mannequin for her.
Seif is like the genuine brother figure Gino never had, despite having many actual siblings and half siblings. He was fascinated by Seif on day one, and was one of the only people to show him genuine kindness at his new job. They became best friends after a while of persistent pestering and optimism, and Gino now considers him part of their family. They have confided in each other deeply over the years and have a close, mutual understanding of each other’s pain.
Gino and Seif are nothing less than blood brothers, who share a camaraderie that neither of them thought they were capable of or thought they would ever be able to have. They share a similar yet contrasting past, and are able to relate to each other in a way that most other people could not. Seif is very protective of his companion, occasionally to a fault; He usually tends to hold deep grudges against those who wrong him.
