I ended up getting the s9 because I didnt have to finagle with verizon to get it unlocked and it was cheaper :/

Yeah lol. I've gone from BlackBerry to Galaxy and I have had little trouble. I just have to shut down a lot of the random Samsung apps.

The whole company is labeled a security risk due to how closely it's tied with the Chinese government :|

What kind of phone you got? If it's kinda old you might be able to just replace the battery. Newer phones don't let you, though.

I have a Samsung s7 right now - so while I can replace the battery (buying a compatible one is harder) the issues are also with my charging port which is failing lol
