Yes, if your character participates in a great hunt, they earn +2 stat points!
(you just have to remember to log it; especially if you plan on corrupting a character, we need a log of all stat points a character has earned)

I'd say check your log and check your literatures/art to see what Grimmr has been up to! If you want to turn him into a monster eventually, a correct log/stat point count will be important to calculate your reward and the monster's HP.
