Took me way too long to finish due to so many technical difficulties BUT something came out of it after all
Hello! I come from another site that is much more in-depth with their forums. One area they have that I wish they had here is an art chatter section, not for selling but for general art-related conversation. My favorite thread in there was the "what did you draw today" thread. It was fun seeing other people's daily drawings and a fun way to try and motivate myself to draw at least something every day. On Toyhouse, while it's art based, sometimes you might want to draw something other than an OC you have on site but still post it somewhere. Sometimes you want to share that silly scribbly thing you spent 4 hours on but not on DA or Instagram (or whatver you post on). So yeah, here's a place to drop your daily doodles!
-Art doesn't have to be fully finished. WIPs and sketches are totally cool to share!
-There doesn't need to be conversation if people don't want it. Feel free to just post your art of the day and run. Conversely, if you want to chatter it's more than welcome, especially if you want to discuss anything relevant to the drawing process :)

This is Sparks. He is the rear-gunner in the Lancaster portion of my WW2 plot. I have been fighting this asshole the past week. Decided to tidy up and line this sketch because I finally got him down on the 3rd pass and needed to do a proper colour pass. Probably gonna shade this later.
I want to work on the Lancaster portion of my WW2 plot but I am super visual so I can't do that until I have art of all the characters in front of me. Trouble is, I don't know what I want these characters to look like. I need a vague idea to work with if I wanna make a new OC. Even then I may need to sit on the character for a bit and build up a mental image of them before I can think about drawing them. I am not the sort of person who can doodle and oops I made a new OC (to those who can do that, teach me). I did force Sparks so he dug his hills in and refused to let me draw him as punishment for me being impatient. Which is fitting seeing as he is sassy, stubborn as fuck and on the bolshie side (especially when he's had a few).
Is it going to stop me from forcing the rest of the Lancaster flight crew so I can get on with developing that portion of the plot? Lol nope.
I told myself no more headshots, but I had to take a break from lineart because it was just not working out. It's a hell that everything I already started is at the linework stage ;w;
So I've been productive as hell today and I've finished multiple pieces, and made massive progress on another, and considering I've been struggling w/ art block lately, it feels so good.
First one: I'm really proud of the magic flickering bit, though the eyes are a bit janky. I have the source file, so I might fix them later.
My character Chance. The style's pretty much one I used to do traditionally, and I'm super-stocked I found a way to effectively pull it off digitally.
Current WIP (just the hands and some cleanup left, but I had been drawing all night, and forced myself to stop before I mess my wrist up, haha) A version of my OC Chance (They're a Fighter) used for a D&D Campaign with friends.
