I know we all have our favorites, but what songs can you not stand hearing? What are you sick of? Or what have you never liked?
AUGH a vast majority of modern music. I absolutely hate Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber, Harry Styles, Ariana Grande, etc. idk something about them and their music hits me wrong. I also hate Chris Brown.
I used to love Lizzo. But after she said “Chris brown is the best guy” or whatever it made me question her morals. Then all that came out about her recently made me hate her too.
I know this is really broad and mostly me being a hater but basically all songs created to become a tiktok trend - y'know the ones where the entire thing is mid but it has like 1-3 lines of a snappy hook before going back to mid.
More specifically this is mildly ironic considering I bought physical media of his stuff in the past but Will Wood's psuedo pretentious lyrics are so nothing to me
I'm not gonna lie I'm not a huge fan of the songs from Hamilton. I'm a huge musical fan but it was never a big thing for me.

Sorry but anything by taylor swift is just super annoying to me except for like 1 or 2 songs that have some kind of nostalgia factor. Otherwise her music is just so boring and meh.
Tbh most "tiktok" songs like the songs themselves can be good but like- once they reach tiktok status and get basically overplayed it just sucls so bad 😭 Like golden hour and cupid are decent songs bUT I HEAR THEM EVERYWHERE it just ruins the song and it kinda sucks cos they arent actually that bad. Just a buncha people milking the song for its fame or smth makes it unbearable to listen to them 💀
Breakcore songs in general are so bad like IM SORRY yall can enjoy your sped up crunchy washing machine noises over hatsune miku vocals but like personally it hurts my ears and stresses me out cos more often than not it just overstimulates my brain and i hate it jhasgfhasgfa- except for like 1 song which is literally just the jerma meatgrinder remix lmao 💀
Most modern pop songs also just dont appeal to me? They sound so boring and samey. While yeah some modern songs (aka songs from after 2020) are good but mostly they just sound the same ahfgahjfs- Esp those pop songs that they'll advertise the hell out of and it just turns annoying

on another note I don't get the "modern music" comments cause music made within the past year are as broad as typical pop music to Italian opera I could be listening to music released 3 months ago and not even notice it's new until I check, I think chart-topper would be a more accurate term
^^ popping in to second what Trosper said - maybe a bit off-topic but honestly when trying new music just completely disregard anything about it outside of how it literally sounds. I personally like to listen to my spotify discover or youtube mix or whatever and look at nothing, not the title, artist, album art (or date released - considering the current conversation) any of that and I find myself skipping a lot fewer tracks cause I know I have this notion to judge a song by it's album art or title

Cranberries songs sound ass except for Linger. Love that one. But Zombies makes me want to pull my hair out. “Thunder only happens when it’s raining” makes me want to pluck my eyes out.
Also I don’t like 99% of country. Rap, pop, and some retro songs (like a select few) are what I dip into the most. I can tolerate SOME rock. I don’t fuck with most heavy metal (my dad loves it but the screaming bloody murder like a pig being slaughtered isn’t my kind of music sorry), some Phonk songs are nice others are overplayed, and for the love of god that “I don’t want to talk right now” song from Billie or whatever can fuck of.
Speaking of Kpop some music actually does slap but the fanbase is rancid (not all, but a lot of people in it have ruined it for me) and I’ve never seen somebody so willing to dox someone for simply saying their fav isn’t perfect or whatever. I don’t have anything against the genre or the idols, but my fucking god the userbase is compiled with doxxers and radfems and it just makes me want to throw up.
