What songs do you HATE?

I know we all have our favorites, but what songs can you not stand hearing? What are you sick of? Or what have you never liked?

lil_is_dum

that one "if we ever broke up i wouldn't be sad" tiktok song i kept getting youtube ads for. i'm never going to listen to that song out of spite for that ad. did anyone else get that ad? with the annoying bootleg looking animated character? or am i just crazy lol

omg i hate rap music so much, especially if it's about seggs and drugs n shiz

and the new music in the past season in Fall Guys rlly sucks

atempause

thunder by imagine dragons 🔫

🎵 I could have my gucci on,i could have my louis vuittons 🎵 (i am clawing the goddamn floor in incandescent frothing rage)

I also really dislike the new sampling iconic songs and just dumping them into a new, worse song, with the lyrics replaced with horniness or generic feminism trend like if you're not going to put any sort of twist on it then can you please be original i beg of you

i'm pretty open to stuff so it's kinda rare for me to really "dislike" songs honestly. while i heavily favor ska, punk, and music that spotify generally seems to classify as "weirdcore" or "webcore," i'm  pretty open to listening to stuff from different genres and normally enjoy it. that being said, i'm not immune from disliking stuff either. the ones that i can name off the top of my head are:

"I'm Good" - it's just a really lame cover of "I'm Blue," just,,,,, lame bro. that's all i can say about it.

that applebees country song that was trending a couple years back - to sorta quote Todd in the Shadows, it sounds like some rich guy cosplaying as a blue-collar guy. and tbh, that problem extends to a good bit of mainstream country (ESPECIALLY with FL-GA Line and all their fuckin diet counterparts). i think it's part of why i'm more of a folk guy instead of a country guy - it's got some of the flavors/instrumentals you'd find in country but there's usually more going on with the lyrics.

like any Maroon 5 song that isn't "Misery" - they just sound lame, i have literally no other way to describe it than that.

finally, one that i can say that i actually hate: this one (or two?) songs made by this one guy i can't remember the name of. this one needs a bit of explaining. for reference, i listen to like two radio stations: an alt-rock station that's got a pretty good mix of old and new alternative stuff (probably because it's not one of those lame-ass iheartradio stations that have ruined radio on the national level) and the student-run variety radio station at my college. mainly the first station. occasionally this guy's song(s?) will crop up and his voice will just,,,, automatically annoy me. i always switch it to the student radio station whenever his songs come on. i'm not sure if his voice is just naturally that deep or if he's pitching it down in post but i just cannot stand it for some reason. the instrumentals to his songs from what i remember are also really lame. it's like a slow, sorta minimalist piano and maybe some other instrumentals and that sorta thing is just not my vibe. i'm mainly a punk and electronic sorta guy, so minimalist songs just feel super empty to me and slow jams bore me. i like my shit fast n hard (aaaaand maybe just a tad bit silly)!!

admittedly i never catch the name of what song (or songs, i still dunno if i'm hearing one or two songs from that guy cuz i normally tune out so fast) so i cannot tell y'all who this musician is or what his songs are. y'all just gotta believe me on this one.

also what the fuck is dance monkey, i have literally never heard of that song until i started reading through this thread.

Istg if I hear that "Skidi Bop bop" song again I will lose it-

raizzmatazz

Overused songs in tiktok, Instagram, or youtube 😭 sometimes I have to lower my volume whenever those kind of songs plays and I have to fight over the cringy tunes when my mom is blasting it unintentionally sometimes. Some of the overused songs sounds nice (like SUPER SHY) but I'm hoping they wouldn't milk it so much to the point it just sounds like a child singing to me

I know this is a kinda old song but I HATE dance monkey 👿 I just hate the voice so much and I will NEVER understand my classmates who would play it out loud on the class computer. It hurts to listen to it that I would probably shout when I was in 5th grade if I had no patience. It was an eye tearing,

Sometimes imagine dragons and maroon 5 sounds horrible especially when I'm not in the mood to listen to it and be as cringy as i possibly could

Oh i also know that I'm a big fan of marshmallow and alan walker in the past but oh my god 😭 looking back to the past makes me want to puke. I just ironically listen to it now to make everyone else in the room uncomfortable as well. Their music is great to play to make people suffer, though I have to suffer too in order to do that which is fine by me

Anything that is autotuned 🤷 yes i probably listen to some artists that uses it but it's okay, i hate when they do it too, especially when it doesn't fit the song at all. Dont judge me since i think we all had that time when we listened to an inappropriate song without knowing the meaning, but i hate that one specific part of anaconda by nicki minaj or judas by lady gaga

Ice spice is absolutely boring to listen to, like what the hell is "she in hamood 🤪 grah *insert more inaudible onomatopoeia or something idfk*"💀 i dislike her music and everything she made so far but i hate her even more ever since someone made fun of pinkpantheress on roblox 💀 my classmate once played it while we're having free time and she sounds like the typical rapper and her music doesn't have a personality at all

There's this one deep-ambient-house remix of "In the End" by Lincoln Park that my mom keeps playing whenever she plays music & I hate it so much because has the energy of trying to 'modernize a song' & as a result sucking all of the original energy it has from it. + iirc it doesn't even have the rap verses aka. a big part of the appeal of many Lincoln Park tracks imo, especially this one

"In the End" should not be remixed as an ambient-house track, it should be listened to as-is while you're drawing emo warrior cats ocs like it's 2008 the way god intended

  • Modern Taylor Swift, idk her music is just really bland to me, and her lyrics always have a "live, laugh, love" aesthetic. "Why be mad, when you can be glad?" is just tone deaf imo. I really respect her as a person, but not a fan of her current music. Super unrelatable.
  • Olivia Rodrigo. I just don't vibe with her music and don't understand how she's so popular. She's not that bad though because some of her songs like "Jealousy, Jealousy" have a good message that is relatable.
  • Girl in Red, I just find her overrated as hell and her music isn't that good to me.
  • Lizzo, her music SOUNDS really good and I bump to it, but she lacks authenticity to me.
  • Also most popular TikTok audios, like the "Oh no no no no no no" one drives me absolutely nuts. Also "sunroof" for being overplayed everywhere.
