What songs do you HATE?

I know we all have our favorites, but what songs can you not stand hearing? What are you sick of? Or what have you never liked?

Any acoustic songs. Sorry not sorry. I can't stand it. I feel bad too, because whenever someone whips out an acoustic guitar and starts playing, I know there's been a lot of effort and talent put into it, but like.... For what? It doesn't even sound good in the end.

Lol I'm probably the exact type of person boomers would complain about when they go on about "bAcK iN mY dAy We HaD rEaL mUsIc"

songs that arent hard enough make my blood boil. lo-fi, soft rock, any song with those 'soft' emo boy voices. if it doesnt go hard like dubstep or extratone im not interested. theres a FEW songs that are 'soft' that i like, but theyre the exception and not the rule, if you give me a song that is softer than ye old skrillex im not listening. the only exception is orchestra (good orchestra at least) and game OSTs, but the usual 'listen to it while doing chores' kind of song is where i get extremely picky. this is why i hate how people use 'this song goes hard' nowadays lol.

i also cant say i hate these kinds of songs because i do listen to a Few, but i really dislike how most modern v flower songs sound so fucking similar. they all got the same kind of 'wacky' instrumentals and v flower sounds like she inhaled helium. usually have some dark ass story behind the lyrics because we live in the age of 'make it edgy or it isnt good'. i cant differentiate the artists because theyre just the same! v flower is the new miku and i loathe it, she deserves so much better than this

edit: i realized my first statement applies mostly to electronic music, which.. yeah it does lol. i mean samba is one of my favorite genres and it sure doesnt go hard. so uh. only apply that first statement to EDM and rock thanks.

'baby baby baby ooohhh yeah baby baby baby OOOHHHH' i am about to slam your face into a brick wall

roziist

pretty much most songs with guitar as its main instrument. i also haaaate whistling, but i can bare if its like an intro/outro only thing. thinking of bOss by onlyoneof (vry good song btw). whistle by blackpink is..... yea not good for my ears LOL

more specific song is o.o by nmixx genuinely terrible song. it took a bunch of whats popular right now into this barely 3 minute clusterfuck. the uhh... bridge?... that part was good. if it was extended as their actual debut song it wouldve been amazing. but the big kpop companies these days are prioritizing dancing and its so upsetting bc you can tell by its choreography that it was made to be a dance song and not like a SONG.

Everything from taylor swfit, sorry i just have no real reason other than i get sick hearing any song by her

Yamroll

istg if i hear another alan walker or fatrat or whatever the frick people name their edm bands these days im gonna slam my head into a blender

Like ok it used to sound good like, 8 years ago, but it got so overused and annoying and now that i think of it its really just loud screechy noises with someone repeating the same word over and over. I’m sorry if i offend anyone with this but like every edm music made these days (heck even most electronic music stuff idk what theyre called) just sounds…samey. Like its all just the same thing.

Exception for those cyberpunk electronic playlist thingies i find, at least they dont use overused music and arent too energetic/chaotic that it hurts my ears

Edit: forgot to add on that i absolutely cannot stand songs from kids shows (or movies that are supposed to appeal to idk families?) that try to sound ‘cool’ and stuff like that. Its like a 50 year old decided to write that song in the most stereotypically ‘teenage’ way possible ugh. Also any kind of rap music that constantly mentions sex and drugs, keep that stuff away from me ew.

i also have to agree dance monkey is just annoying. im sorry but the voice sounds so screechy like they swallowed helium

I really like pretty much all of his other songs, even the older ones that are often regarded as lower quality, but I really do NOT like the Lemon Demon song “Moon’s Request.” Idk why but I find that specific song extremely grating and annoying in a way none of the others are. It’s RARE for me to hate any song, ever, too - usually even if a song objectively kind of sucks and is not a type of music I would choose to listen to I don’t find it unpleasant to hear, just not something I would choose to listen to on purpose. Moon’s Request I will make active efforts to avoid hearing.

Aarix
  • Fireflies by Owl City. Grotesquely twee and sung in the ugliest accent conceivable.
  • On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons. It's like it was made in a lab to be appealing to as many advertisers as possible
  • 22 by Taylor Swift. Another very ugly accent and I never want to think about being 22 ever again
  • Anything with 808s just sounds so goofy to me
  • Florence + The Machine, but that's more bc I had a bad time in a band which played a lot of florence. Our frontwoman just. could not do florence.
  • King Krule has perfected the anti-aarix sound
NB: this is all coming from an avant garde electronic noise enjoyer with a very annoying drawl
Wingspan

Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes. My brother, who’s a guitarist, learned this song a while back and I had to deal with constantly hearing it. It’s just so so repetitive to me, I have to stop myself from thinking about it while typing this otherwise it’ll get stuck in my head and I’ll die.

Also I’ve never seen the appeal of Sodikken’s music tbh. Love their animations, but the way they sing… uniqueness isn’t always a good thing when it comes to vocals imo and their voice is a prime example of that. It just sounds weird to me and not in a good way.

seiyon

country songs (except a rare few)

i feel physical pain when i hear a country song

edit: i almost forgot about that it’s raining taco song, that song also makes me angry 😭

ALL Meghan Trainor songs. Almost forgot she existed since she hasn't really had a big hit since like 2015, and I was fine living in blissful ignorance, until I heard one of her songs on the radio yesterday and was unfortunately reminded...

All her songs sound the same, her voice always sounds really annoying as if it's been pitched up or something, her way of singing just frustrates me. And most of her songs have bland and generic music which just makes them all blend together with no distinctive or memorable traits.

Also, most of her songs are just about bragging and being selfish...

And that's not even getting started on everything wrong with the "All About That Bass" song and how awfully it fails at being a "body positive" song in any way.
