Excuse the gush, I never get to talk about this stuff
I love Thane so much because in the time I was making him, I was going through some things. As a distraction, I funneled a bunch of time into a design that would marry a few aesthetics I like, and make it look as plausible as I can manage. It's funny because being tea-powered was from a joke character that I overhauled a few times. In the meantime, I'm very proud of my ability to take something stereotypically clunky like a lot of steampunk stuff, and integrate a skeleton design into it without removing huge chunks in the chassis (it still has to hold a boiler). In the meantime, he's a very calm and caring individual who's haunted by his own existence. When I write him, he always feels pleasant to talk to, even when he doesn't agree with you.
As an ace/aro person I don't get all that attraction stuff all the way, so I made Wasp to help me explore it without feeling weird(?). I also put a lot of thought into his design, trying to make a insect-like character that can still be conventionally appealing. He's bouncy and playful, in comparison to a lot of my characters, and so he's refreshing when it comes to emotional stuff. I've simplified his design enough (for me) that if I want to give someone virtual snuggles, I can doodle this guy. I don't write for him as much, but the amount of art I draw for him makes up for that probably. (looks like his profile needs a serious update though, he has lots of friends now!)
I try not to drop money adopts much (most have been gifted to me) and so Veni is the only one I've ever really put a lot of money on. I'm not really in it for the clout like I see some folks in that sort of setting, I just thought the design was really interesting, and the ideas it came with seemed fun to expand on. Looking at them today, they're they closest thing I have to a vent-sona. Yeah, I draw a lot of robots, love them to bits! but I started out with more natural lines, and so doodling doesn't take as much focus and thought. In addition to all the stretch and squash possibilities to them being a snail and that adds to the fun. There's no exact way to draw them! I also write for them and roleplay with them when I can. I love the literary journey of a perceived monster slowly learning about the world and about themselves. Its rather relaxing and hopeful. (mild tw for abuse mentions in the backstory)
