Show me your OP characters

Sometimes you just need a powerhouse for a story.  Maybe they are the main antagonist and needs to be super strong, or maybe they are a all powerful God, or maybe they are a total looser that cannot control their abilities and accidentally destroys things!  Whatever the reason OP characters exist and that doesn't mean they are automatically bad!  OP is usually used in a negative way but as long as you balance them out there is nothing wrong with having a character that can easily win a fight!

Photo RustHeart

His bio needs updating, but Photo is defiantly my most powerful character.  He lives in a world where everything is made up of code like a game and he is able to see this code and manipulate it.  Basically he can change anything into anything he wants, including people.  He can change people's appearance, memories and entire personality.  He could just delete them out of existence if he wanted.

Luckily Photo is not an aggressive person, in fact he is extremely passive, shy and introverted.  He does not want to hurt anyone and will always run rather than fight.  His abilities are only ever used to alter things he owns to better suit his needs.  He does go into a very different and dangerous state of mind when he is stressed and while this happens he has hurt people and even killed them.  However this is not his fault and is a bit complicated to explain.  (Its this fucker's fault) Long story short he blames himself, doesn't know why it happens and stays away from people thinking that he is too dangerous.

Hannes Laurence Caine

Hannes is stupidly strong and for the longest time I was like "God I need to make him more balanced and less strong" but you know what? I have never seen an OP trans character in mainstream media so Hannes is gonna stay as he is

I admit though that Hannes, despite being powerful and growing in power still, is actually more interested in the concept of them than actually using them in practice. And since he's a keykeeper he is expected to stay on a relatively neutral line about things so that also holds him back, and at the end of the day he's just very peaceful and pacifistic and only ever uses his powers if he has to. But like he's still strong he's definitely my strongest magical non-demon realm character

Master of the elements, thats all you need to know ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

RustHeart

Well of course, a character should not come without flaws.  Strong powers need to come with some kind of weakness or handicap.  A character who is way too strong and has no difficulties at all can very quickly become boring.  It is always a balancing act and a very powerful character is a difficult one to do correctly.

Most of my characters are on the weaker side.  When I do make a stronger character I usually do something with their personality that weakens them in some way.  For example Photo is super powerful but super shy and passive.  Another one of my characters is pretty powerful and very aggressive but he is foolish and cocky and thinks he is stronger than he is and gets himself in battles where he is outnumbered and often is defeated.

Star ParadiseLost

I see the title of this thread and instantly think of Star, the Half-Hedgehog Mary Sue Sonic OC. I made her specifically so that I can turn that stereotype (overpowered half-hedgehog Sonic OC) on its head. Since for the most part those characters are protagonists, this one's an antagonist.

She's so overpowered her homeland - Edenala, because yo soy Google Translate dios - acknowledges her overpowered state and relegates her to a position where she cannot be so overpowered. (Plus, she's also quite overconfident in her abilities - the only reason why other Starborn don't just get rid of her permanently is because she was leader of Edenala and thus is considered similarly to a Pharaoh. As for Caitlin...she doesn't have that luxury.)

Edit sorry for being insensitive and rude, I didn't intend to attack anyone or make anyone feel bad. Please disregard this.

TemoftheFunk

Let me tell you about the queen of OP characters. Strap in, its a doozy. Her name is Ikazuchi Merlo- sure, she's balanced now, but back in the day? The most OP character I had by far. Here's an old pic of her from those days- she was an Akatsuki member on a Naruto site. I'm going to post her original backstory below to let y'all get a good feel for her. She also mastered all five elements and made up a 5-element jutsu strong enough to murder Orochimaru in one hit, and it only took her five days- one for each element. Oh and I love her.

"16 year old girl With seemingly no past. Uses Genjutsu mostly. Has Brown hair with Red Hilights. Has Dark Brown eyes. Often seems distant in mind, very quiet and calm. She cant remember anything about her past, except that she was from the village hidden in the sand (thats the headband she had on when she was found) and works as a spy for the Akatsuki, Not on one team, But tends to work with Shiba or Zetsu often. She is usually pretty laid back, but can become very violent quickly. She's a vegetarian. She does use Jutsus, but she is a copy ninja when it comes to that. Her favorite "Stolen" Jutsu is sand coffin. She can use very powerfull jutsus but prefers to use genjutsu.

Her Past:

She cant remember anything before she was about 13. All she can remember is waking up totally alone in the desert, and knowing that she was a sand shinobi. She found out her name because she had a lightning bolt pendant with her name engraved on it, and she is never seen without it. For about a year, she traveled to the different villages watching the ninjas and teaching herself the Jutsus, because when she woke up, the only thing she knew how to do was genjutsus. After about a year of that, the Akatsuki found her. She was able to join because she Didnt really know what love was (so she was able to kill people easily) and she was very powerfull. That was when she met Shiba. While she was with the Akatsuki, she was always a little spaztic and loved to joke around. Then she got a mission to act as a spy, so she was sent to Orochimaru. There, she gained Orochimaru's trust, and he learned to trust her more then Kabuto. Eventually, she got to see some of Orochimaru's files. She found a file with her name in it. She discovered that when she was younger, Her family was very powerfull and rebelled against Orochimaru when he joined up with the Sand village, so he killed them. He dragged her body into the desert and left her there thinking she was dead, when she was really just unconcious. Thats when she left Orochimaru with most of his top secret files. Her first mission when she got back was to go to Konoha and Help them capture the Hokage.

DouJutsu (I think thats right...):

Byaku-sharingan. Its a cross between Byakugan and Sharingan. Obtained the Byakusharingan when working with Orochimaru as a spy for the Akatsuki. It can see through things, and uses powerfull Genjutsu. But thats it. Its like a restricted version of the Sharingan and Byakugan put together."

Caine not that you need a good reason to have an OP character, but thats a damn good reason to have an OP character

Star im in love

Chu James sonikkuruzu

Chu is really strong and has super strength, telekinesis and the ability to teleport. He's been prophesised to destroy the world but he's too lazy to use most of his power.

Nimue Jakande Cliodna

I have nothing to add regarding other peoples' characters but I wanted to mention that I read the whole thread thus far and loved seeing everyones' posts. :D

I mostly do one-on-one roleplays, with one person acting as a game master. That often leaves my characters with whatever skills nad power levels they gain during their respective roleplays and oftentimes they end up really OP. Which I like. I mean there are no other players, so I don't have to worry about overshadowing everyone and if everyone is having fun then what's the harm? I think there's a certain wish-fulfillment element in having a "cool" character and it doesn't really rob the story of any conflict, just displaces it, putting stress less on how a character is going to accomplish a particular goal and more on how they and their loved ones are dealing with their powers.

I think my most OP character must've been contemporary!Nimue Jakande. She started out as just a blind teenager from a fictional north-african village but during her roleplay, thanks to a very generous GM, the girl basically became a god.

She was half-messenger - a "messenger" in that setting being basically a piece of Sheme, the goddess of life and light. Her powers included shapeshifting and (to quote my game master) "basically anything you can imagine regarding manipulating light or healing and stuff. If it's well-explained I'll probably allow it".

So stuff she did involved among other things other things: turning herself to different animals (one form per species), being able to use Sight ("feeling" the shape of everything the light touches around you without the use of eyes), being able to cast illusions, heal injuries (including re-growing limbs), create flashes of light and heat, manipulating her own senses through partial shapeshifting (giving herself the hearing of an owl or shutting off her sense of smell for example), warming up herself or others, flying (with wings of light or some other assisting prop like that) and tapping into the mind of another person to see what they saw (used recreationally between her and her boyfriend so she could experience what colors look like), barriers and projectiles made of light etc.

The main limit was that the source of power for messengers came from the sun, so they were essentially working on limited batteries whilst indoors or at nighttime. It wasn't a big deal until the main villain up and killed the goddess of the sun, plunged the world into darkness and then made everyone believe my character had done it on national television. Fun.

She used her power to heal some people quite publicly and gained an online following for that. Mostly she'd use her powers to goof around harmlessly, however. She'd also give in to temptation and misuse the powers from time to time, once emptying a convenience stores' cash register and using the money to essentially buy treats and a smartphone. Most of the conflict came from her immaturity in handling the sheer volume of what was granted to her, as well as fighting against equally OP characters to save humankind.

Mikhail Kozlov (Demon!Mikhail) Returnofmorningstar

Mikhail isn't OP in a strength sense... But he's like if someone took all of their points in d&d and put them into constitution. I like to refer to him as a durable boy, because he is. Falls from great heights? He'll stand up, just give him a minute or two. Gunshots? He can pull the bullets out. Fire? His skin is actually fireproof. Pick him up and throw him? He'll get up once he stops rolling. He definitely feels pain, but it isn't nearly severe enough to actually hinder him. He's very annoying to fight because he just keeps getting back up.

Azazel is more OP on the strength side. He's 6'7" and buff, but more than he looks. He's more of a typical demon in his unnatural, seemingly infinite strength. Typically he uses it when he needs to get Mikhail out of sticky situations. He can be injured, but like Mikhail, it's going to take a whole lot to actually get him down. Too bad he's a raging jerk, otherwise he would be a great superhero.

Andreas Jacobson Lonestarcelt

Andreas is basically a walking tank of a man. A 6'8'' hulk of a man. He doesn't get into fights because more often than not just a single punch from him is enough to utterly knock people out unless they are way too drunk to feel it or he just grazed them which, in his job as a security guard/bouncer, has happened but more often than not it isn't uncommon for a drunk to throw a punch at him, get knocked out with a single hit, and then carried like a suit case, single-handed, into a cab and sent home.

There's also Mal who is arguably just as strong, if not stronger than Andreas, but a 7 foot tall, bone thin, rake of a human being who if pressed could easily hold a person off the ground by the scruff of their shirt and hold them there seemingly indefinitely without the slightest wavering.
