Overview.

The Raven's Watch are a refined bunch of performers and unashamed part-time thieves of the rich that live under a simple mantra; The Ravens shall watch over one another as kin, and play for those who pay. The thieving isn’t exactly... heroic, nor is it encouraged by any means, but disdain for those who flash their wealth and refuse to help others is cause enough for most who find themselves within the Nest. It is a hub for those with talents in the arts and talents in thievery both-- A theatre company who are always in character as soon as they arrive, for they come knowing their pockets are going to be heavy with stolen goods before the night is over.

Lifestyle.
III

Days may be difficult, some may be easy. It's hard to determine how one week will go for the Ravens, but Jericho is sure to keep the camp fully stocked and ready to defend at all times should the need arise. There is a chef who prepares simple, fresh meals twice a day (Morning and evening) and members who wish to join their organisation, yet do not wish to jump into the action, do so by cleaning, hunting and often entertaining, depending on the person.

Life for the Ravens differs from person to person - Some stick by their sword and offer their blade to those in need, while others are performers through-and-through, choosing only to take their fill from the homes in which the Company perform. There are no set 'jobs' given to members, other than those mentioned above, and instead, they have the freedom to earn their gold however best befits them individually, so long as their hands remain clean of blood.
Members are free to come and go as they please, returning only for supplies and to hand over their share of gold, and they are also free to frequent the Nest as much as they would like.

Often are there great get-togethers with fellow members when present - Loud, crowded, intoxicated... They're an extravagant feat that can sometimes last days, depending on the occasion. There is always an air of family around the Raven's, and that is something Jericho is proud of. Members should feel as though they can share their woes with any one of the others besides them and receive support, help, or simply just a shoulder to cry on when needed. That being said, though, sometimes families fight, and sometimes things get messy. Personal quarrels are to be dealt with quickly and bluntly, for there is no room to harbour ill feelings for someone you must trust with your life and your secrets. Childish behaviour towards arguments will usually cause Jericho to step in and act as a mediator until the problem is resolved.

People cannot simply turn up to the Nest and join this band of bastards - with the camp's location being kept very hush-hush, prospective members must seek out a meeting with Jericho, or be scouted out by the man himself. He keeps an eye out at all times, considering who would make a grand new addition, and gives near-anyone a chance if he believes they're worth the extra mouth to feed.
Before anyone is officially accepted, though, they must complete a challenge given to them. The challenge can be set by Jericho, put forward by another Raven, or even suggested by the recruit themselves, provided it's clear they aren't trying to cheat the system. Usually, the task will involve robbing something or other from some so-and-so Jericho rowed with that week, and once complete, a great celebration is held while the new Raven is welcomed into the family.

Code, Rules.
V

Overview

While on the outside it seems as if the Ravens are a bunch of no-good ruffians, they live and act under a set of rules and laws as if they were any regular community. Rule-breakers and trouble-makers are not tolerated and will be let go if they cannot follow along with the law given - after all, they need to remain hidden above all else, and their name must be thought of highly where conning is concerned.

Code and Rules

  • No needless murder. Killing civilians is an immediate banishment
  • Be sure to contribute to the pot - the camp always gets a cut
  • Do not share information on the Nest's location
  • Treat your fellow Ravens with respect - There is no toleration for trouble-makers in camp
  • The Raven's are a family. Learn to trust them wholly
  • Keep robbing and conning to those with more than enough - Don't take from the poor and hungry
  • Discretion is king - Be careful to whom you share your secrets

Location.
VI

dfgf.pngSituated near the Sunless Jungle, The Nest is hidden away from prying eyes and Order hands. The exact location is kept a secret, and many get lost within the trees when trying to find it - but that is how Jericho likes it.

The main camp is ground-level, filled with pitched tents, crates, cables and ropes, flags, and fabrics. A bonfire is lit near the center each night and is surrounded by blankets, pillows, and chairs for members to relax on and forget their troubles. An organised mess, maybe, with a feeling of home to those who stay - Caravans and carts are slept in by those who own them. Wooden planks and bridges are used to lay over any bog water, and ropes run along the top of tents to keep everything up and stable. A make-shift kitchen sits towards the bonfire, usually with a large, fresh pot of stew outside for the Ravens to pick at then they stop by.

If you look up, though, you will see thatched huts and wooden walkways among the trees, both hidden and perfectly pitched to keep an eye out on the area and ensure everyone is safe. Not many live above the ground, and those who do have usually ran with the bunch long enough to have earned it. Vines and foliage cover the areas, rotting wood and ropes hold up walk-ways and swinging bridges. Tents and huts are decorated however one sees fit, usually adorned with patterned fabrics and carved or painted animal bones, each one taking on the personality of the person who lives there.

Lanterns light overgrown pathways and quiet spots, and nooks are kept clean for members to take moments to themselves. A small lake can be found near the camp, too, and acts as fresh water supply as well as a method to wash. Carved rocks and flags line the banks, and shrines to the three patrons keep a watch on the other side.

The trees are lush and towering, wrapped in moss and ivy, vines and fabrics from the camp. Carvings and paintings can usually be found on rocks and trunks, signifying that the Raven's Watch keeps hold of the area.
