-Teeth of Oros-

-Overview-

The Teeth of Oros are a loose band of hunters and scientists who study Greater Beasts and other magical creatures to protect people from being hurt by them. They are theorized to have originated somewhere near the whispering sea in Ivras, where the first Greater Beast was said to roam. Nowadays the hunters are found all over the world, looking to find problematic creatures. Joining the Teeth of Oros is not hard at all. Everyone is welcome to join the hunt mages as well as Non mages, but one must locate members willing to teach an apprentice first. The Group is not widely known and therefore hard to find. The reason people join the ranks of the Teeth vary mostly between having experienced the death and destruction caused by these beasts, a strong sense of curiosity for mythical creatures or the prospect of harvesting expensive parts for alchemy and potion making.

-Customs and Ranks-

There are no real ranks among the hunters, there are however titles that are given based on the experience. They are Apprentices, who are very inexperienced and are currently being taught by a Mentor and the Elders who are the most experienced hunters among them. These titles are only relevant during big hunts when a formation needs to be arranged. Due to the open nature of the group, there are often quarrels between members. These are to be put on hold during such hunts and can be solved afterwards. Such a distraction will be punished harshly, and the corresponding members will no longer be welcome. However, hurting or taking the life of a fellow hunter outside a hunt is frowned upon, but there is no punishment for it. If a beast is felled, hunters are advised to stay as far away from it as possible. It is said that being close to one while its dying will curse the hunter it has set eyes upon. Nobody is sure if that is true or not, but for that reason it is customary to wear masks when hunting. .

-Appearance-

Every Member has their own style of clothing and ways to hide from sight or hide their scent. Usually colors vary between greens, browns and tan for the summer and spring time, yellows, greens, and copper for autumn and white and greys for the winter. Most Members also create capes that incorporate local fauna to further hide their forms, as well as scented oils to mask any smells that could tick off a Beast. The Mask is very important for every hunter and is unique to each one. They vary between featureless or grotesque and usually depict faces of animals or mythical beasts. The preferred material is wood, but other materials can be used. Some Masks are painted, but most are natural wood color or only marked with dark natural tones. People often compare them to ritual masks, which is one of the reasons for their mixed perception. .

-Lifestyle-

The hunting for many is not the focus of their lives. Members have jobs and families that they take care of. Even when not actively hunting, members act as a network to pass information around quickly. Hunters usually also keep out eyes and ears for any signs or rumors of beast activity, but most of the information comes from the people studying the beasts in the field. They provide vital information about behaviors and possible weaknesses. Other than that, they are left to their own devices and don’t interact much with the Teeth of Oros regarding their private lives..

-Location-

There is no headquarters or determined location where members meet up on a regular. Location is highly dependent on sightings of monsters. The organization however originated somewhere near the whispering sea.

-Perception-

The people that know of the Teeth of Oros have mixed opinions about them. Some think they are trying their best to help, some just think they are creepy freaks. The most severe backlash comes from the Order directly since all hunters are welcome no matter their background. While most of the Teeth think that the Order is incapable and not equipped well enough for the threat they are facing, the Order thinks of them as vigilantes that hinder their ability to deal with monsters and rouge mages. Their appearance which can be quite frightening is not helping them to keep up a good image around people. Most tolerate them but would rather not be affiliated with them directly.
