The Kuthaemiid Clan

After death shattered the stability within their parent clan, those who wished to rebuild split off, and created what is now called the Kuthaemiid.

They're a small clan, relatively speaking, of only 20-30 members, most of whom originate from the Khaytihl Clan of the desert beyond the Siregal Magocracy. Few are children, and fewer are elders, with the clan being largely made up of young and mature adults who saw the inevitable downfall of the Khaytihl, and sought to have a better life.

Given their origins, the Kuthaemiid are hardened desert folk, many having been taught the often cut-throat rituals of survival that the Khaytihl had. The ability to draw water from just about anything, the subtleties of tracking and how to hide one's tracks, how to survive the unfiltered sun... just about everything, they have down to a T.

But even with their skills, their proficient backgrounds, unrest still boils between the members.
None of them like being this far south, next to the capital city of Ivras, where the Kingdom could inevitably recognize their presence. Many still hold a stubbornness against authority, and with their rocky stance on their own culture, they doubt that they could survive a legal crackdown.

However, something keeps them there.

A lingering sentiment.

The Kuthaemiid have reason to suspect that a previous member of their parent clan traveled the same way they had.
The murderer of their council.

Some seek justice against her, some truly don't care, and others... well, they have questions. Questions of reason, questions of motive, questions of memory, questions of Corruption.
Despite the Khaytihl being a clan filled to the brim with mages, the concept of Corruption was ill-understood, even shut down in conversation. It's led those hungry for knowledge to seek she who's been in supposed close contact with it.

Ultimately, it's an issue put on the back-burner of their immediate survival and rebuilding, for securing the chance that they'll live to see another dawn is much more important than seeking a manhunt.
