Orion puttered around his shop, sweeping up the stray petals and leaves which had fallen amidst the general bustle of activity which encompassed his days. He loved being busy, it kept his mind off less savory things, and most of all he enjoyed the delight in the eyes of many of his visitors when viewing the many gorgeous flowers oft near overflowing from his tiny shop. Unlike perhaps other florists, the abundance of flowers spread throughout the small business had only been cut to fill an order or request. He didn't believe in cutting flowers simply for the purposes of display, for as soon as the beautiful blooms were removed from their stems, their lifeline, they began to die.
For their sacrifice to be worth something, Oreo often waited until the last moment to snip those lifelines. This was certainly aided by the fact that his little shop was sitting on a decently sized plot of land which also happened to be home to a place he affectionately thought of as his sanctuary. His garden. To be able to slip through the back door of his small shop and enter into the garden was no small boon, and he certainly took the opportunity to do so as often as was practical. This day had been particularly busy, so he hadn't had many opportunities to go back into the garden.
He didn't mind so much, though, mostly because he enjoyed the business he was getting. Now that the day was winding down, truthfully it was only early afternoon, but he had since learned many of his clients tended to get their shopping and planning done as early as they could, which often left him with a good amount of the afternoon to putter about in the garden. When he'd sent the latest customer on their way, he noticed another had entered his shop, and this was someone he certainly couldn't remember seeing before. Their appearance was unique and certainly indicative of her magical propensity, if he had to guess. Despite his curiosity he merely ruffled his wings against his sides, the sound relatively loud in the otherwise quiet shop, to get her attention. Once he had, he offered a bright smile, gesturing with his velveteen muzzle to the board where he listed the flowers currently in bloom and thus bound to be the best to purchase. Perhaps she was simply there to peruse, that was alright too.
