being a trans man who is also ashkenazi jewish, he has had to deal with a lot of crap from superemists and very far right members of the community. one day he had been getting heckled by an older man while the man’s son watches. the son walked away into a coffee shop, comes back after a while, and then sits down with two coffees and shows his father that this isn’t cool. his father is horrified and pretends he doesn’t know the boy, but the boy makes his day. douglas still thinks about that boy, and wonders how he’s doing now.
I'm thinking his two years spent paralyzed have lead him to develop an acute claustrophobia, and a more intense fear of being unable to move. I can see him being rather fidgety, and if there's nothing else to do he may just pace the room to occupy himself. Any prolonged period of sitting or laying down would uncomfortably remind him of those years he spent doing nothing else. Additionally, he dislikes confined spaces or situations where he feels trapped, physically or otherwise.
Since Vaeril hates conversation, it's hard for him to take any crap from anyone. If someone can get him to listen, it's probably something important. If he deems someone too annoying he will have his wolves chase them off.

swan doesn't just like swans- she likes all birds! aside from swans, she loves parrots and finches. she would like to open a bird sanctuary, one day, but doesn't know if she could handle so many birds on her own.
Freya loves pumpkin pie but she's not that great of a cook. You get her into a kitchen and it just spirals into madness. Somehow pie filling get on the ceiling and the crust almost burned the house down. Still she keeps trying because one day she will make the perfect pumpkin pie and everyone will have a dang slice.
I bet Dox actually can see a person's deepest secrets and fears just by staring into their eyes. If he can ensnare their attention long enough, likely with his hypnotic eyes, he can see even further: all the way to their last desire.
With Gabe being very large yet very timid, I can see him constantly adopting positions that make him look smaller: arms tucked in, slightly bowed, trying to take up as little space as possible. His size, though he's mostly comfortable with it, is a substantial source of the many apologies he makes, especially while trying to maneuver in crowded areas.
His ears have limited mobility in 'human' form but will perk up or point downwards depending on his mood.
hj7 A casual cat lover, he likes how they act and behave in contrast to other creatures. Not someone to step into a cat cafe, but if a cat is going by he'd either watch or if close enough maybe pet. Maybe he likes older, more off putting cats that are more willing to bite you then cute friendly ones.
