Listen to the song from the user above you!

Posted 7 years, 1 month ago (Edited 6 years, 5 months ago) by Aikaikaik

Heya! Figured I'd start up a thread like this as I abolsutely love finding various music, and noticed there isn't a thread for this here yet! Plus, thinking on it, a good few of my OCs are inspired by some songs and music in general, and it never hurts to be on the hunt for more music to check out!

Basic Rules:

1. The person above you will link you a song to listen to!

2. Give your thoughts on it - is it something you liked, or is it just not your cup of tea? Did it inspire you to make an OC on the fly? Feel free to express this as much or as little as you want! (Please be respectful and civil in your reply, though.)

3. In the same post, link a song for the next person to listen to!

[edit] 4. If you're next in line, please claim before going ahead; I totally missed out due to IRL things going on, I realize some people might of been Ninja'd! So let's try to avoid being ninja'd from now on <:"D

EDIT; PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Heya! I've gotten a few concerns from people that go through this thread that some may of been a bit disrespectful about one's tastes in music. Music is something it's obvious not everyone is going to like the same thing, but I must remind you to PLEASE, be respectful to the person above you when having shared music. If it isn't your thing, please be kind and simply say "It wasn't my cup of tea, sorry. I'm glad you like it though!" or something nice along those lines. Having someone be told the song you chose (which might even mean a lot to you on your own terms and reasons behind it) is horrible or nasty, can be a bit rude. Let's do our best to keep polite and civil here while we all jam out to some awesome tunes! Thanks!

All good? Let's get started! I'll link over a song for the first person to start things off!

First song: The Maddest Kind of Love, by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

Hey, it's Len bby, one of my favorite Vocaloids~ I've never heard this one before and I certainly to love stumbling upon new songs especially one from him since usually I tend to have a hard time finding them on my own. I'm not very knowledgeable on producers and such, even though I have listened to Vocaloids for ages, but I certainly enjoy the beat of this song. It's a nice, upbeat which I can certainly use to help either at work or drawing, so hey thanks! :D

I know this probably isn't some peoples cup of tea, but I love these kinds of songs and this one has been my newest addiction

SOUNDBBABE

tbh I paid attention mostly to the video since a lot of effort went into creating those fan made fights. Other than that I would take another listen to it since the beat is pretty nice to listen to.

Here's my old song boys and girls

Caine

I was going to say this is not my type of song, but then the lyrics started and honestly? This is EXACTLY the kind of stuff I'd listen to while driving (or someone else is driving and I'm sitting on the back seat) when it's a late night and we're on the highway or something. It has the energy suitable for that sort of mood imo!! Also my dad used to listen to this sort of stuff when I was a kid and we were driving around hehe

Here's something musical-y

YunaNoire

Wow! That was honestly really surprising to me? I didn't realize that the Tangled series had such great music! I'll confess, i've never seen Tangled so I haven't seen the show. But while I don't really know what's going on, I have to admit I still got such a rush of emotion and a sense for what was happening through this song. It's a short song, but the quality of it is just so fantastic, it's no wonder it's attached to Disney, you could have probably told me it came from a Disney movie and I wouldn't have questioned it.

Since my current love is Little Witch Academia, here's OP2!

SOBS I HAVEN'T WATCHED LWA YET AND I HAVE TO WATCH IT AT THIS VERY SECOND JUST YOU WAIT (which will be forever because i have a crazy workload and i barely have time for anime nowadays and i have to finish jojo rip)

But this song is so upbeat yet it gives the noble feeling! It seems so denpa at first, but the chorus and the percussion made me sold, then the strings at times-- I'm--- Dang it, I have a new single to dig and get HUHU THANKS YUNA

I'M REALLY SOLD WHEN THERE'S SEXY PERCUSSION WITH CUTE VIBES IN IT

I have yet to reread the lyrics BUT!! from what i've seen, it's full of determination! no undertale reference used

let's admit that some of the comments made me unhear the song

i mean

JShMqdf.png

why.

Ling Tosite Sigure's Abnormalized, covered by Reol! I have to say I really love this song but maybe because I'm too biased over Urobutcher since Psycho Pass is a very good anime

here's the lyrics

The things I can't show anyone are flooding my head
In a world where not even mistakes exist, I'm lost

Rubbed in to an unbelievable degree
This is a "world" phenomenon where only what's visible to the eye is true
Would I be able to expose the truth?

Plastic Tac Tic, no one can go crazy anymore
You're also in this plastic beautiful world
In a world that's too beautiful, for some reason I can't see the light
My rupturing heart is an infinite reflection

Secret remains for you, don't expose the fake colors and the future
Fake's plastic world, keep it secret motion

Secretive and confined
Even the things visible to my eyes are my fake show
They're the reverse of the truth

Telecastic Tac Tic
Everything seems normal now, right?
The abnormal plastic normal world
An infinite reflection of the world that's too emotionless

This place is already a gestalt illusion; every person and things are separated
And it dyes the inside of the hologram in the colour of truth

Secret remains for you, fake's plastic world
If we expose it all, the memories will shoot the present and we'd realize

Everything is turned inside-out and the illusion is already at the end
I'm scared even of the truth
This is a "world" phenomenon where only what's visible to the eye is true
Fake things are holding hands and reflecting everything

Things that can be satisfied by no one are flooding my head
But if this is where I belong, I won't satisfy.

and

shameless anime recommendation notes under the spoiler wwww

watch it if you like mystery, crime thriller, cyberpunk, and sci-fi haha plus Urobutcher also wrote your favorite series such as Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero but Psycho Pass honestly tops them all AAAAND Akira Amano did the character designs! She is also the one responsible for the art in Katekyo Hitman Reborn :'3

aska-ray

So i haven't seen Psycho Pass yet, it's on my to-watch list, though.

Anyway I've never heard the original nor anything by the original band but I love REOL so I had to give a listen. The song was pretty good but not much of something I listen to much anymore (i used to like when i was in high school)... the tone reminded me of Nightmare songs a little bit. Sort of interested in what the original sounds like now. The cover artists and Reol of course were amazing; I love the sound of her voice and she does a great job here, though I think I prefer some of her other songs. Thanks for linking this tho :)

so i hate the word gooey but guess what!!!!
ive been listening to this band non-stop recently and i just. don't know why?????? i do not usually go for this kind of stuff honestly but i just. who knows. i dont know.

Skulltopus

AH this is such a great song that focuses nicely on the concept and thoughts of childhood and naïvety. I adore this song a lot myself and Glass Animals is just such a wonderful band that focuses on lives and stories. I absolutely adore it. I love the feelings this song gives me? I really want to connect to it one of my OC's somehow ahh alas.

The song I have for people is going to be Enraptured. A Bioshock remix! This song makes me feel for that game so much and I already feel a lot for that game.

Caine

I certainly liked it as a background music while I was working but since I haven't played the game I feel like it lacks the kind of emotional impact for me, sadly! I think it's a really skillfully made remix though and sounds consistently good throughout the whole thing!

I'm still in love with this incredibly ridiculous concept called choir boys singing pop songs so here is Get Down

Altair

The video was not available in my country, so I searched it
It's not my type of song, but boi.... It's gOooOoD. I'll try to listen more songs from them!

warning - japanese music sorry
im a nerd
there
try to read the subtitles pls

femboys

i did p good at reading the subtitles for the first 2 minutes and then i got caught up in the preformance haha, overall i love the song and its now on my playlist! it reminds me of a japanese game soundtrack like the opening of alicia online (except alicia online is a korean game) and i really like the sound of it and as far as the storyline of the song its pretty interesting and ima have to google the full english translation without the music so i can understand it better.

-

maybe not everyones cup of tea but i really like the music video and the song

jhope - daydream

yes it is kpop

Skelleste

I haven't listened to a lot of Kpop despite being a Korean language student and what I have heard I wasn't super into. But I did enjoy this song and admittedly stopped myself from tapping my foot halfway through, haha. Also gotta love the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference in the video.

Now I'm gonna throw some Balkan music out there.

Jade-Everstone

Haven't listened to much of that type of music. I really like the rhythms and some of the "wobbly," bass samples (not sure what to call them lol)

uhh, HYSTERIA by Naoki is one of my fav. DDR songs yo

FriskyMeowlord

That's some good beats tbh, buddy. These songs are fun every now and then. Can appreciate some good dance music. Haaaa and I'm amused with the rhymes.

As per usual, I'm gonna veer off in a completely different direction. Rachael by She Wants Revenge.
