There's been a lot of negativity lately, so why not have a thread focusing solely on positivity? c:

This game's purpose is to say what you like about the OC posted above you! This can be about anything you can see on their profile, whether it's design, written content, or both.

unfortunately i cant say anything about his lore because its a lot of text and i risk vastly misinterpreting it because im that bad at reading, but even though his design is one that im not a fan of in masculine characters i think hes very cute. theres a juxtaposition with his physical appearence and his suit, and i really like the purple/blue accents, they draw a contrast but dont overstay their welcome.

also i love it when two characters are closely paired together, not necessarily in a romantic way, i just really love duos. (it helps that their designs compliment each other, both with zavuris sweater outfit and suit outfit)

Julian's design is honestly so dope, I love the contrast between the dark/more 'creepy' side of his face, and the one that's light with blush. I really like that the halves are only on his face & not on his body, since it gives a Lot more focus to his head, and it personally looks more unsettling. his outfit looks great, and it reminds me of vintage/old TV shows! I especially like the bowtie... I think it pieces the design together, and adds a lot of charm to it

his personality/backstory is also really interesting, I like how much thought was put into him. his 'dramaticness' is quite a nice choice as a personality trait, considering lots of TV hosts had over-the-top personalities, and (I think this may have been an unconscious choice, but) the design on his face sort of reminds me of drama/theatre masks too, which I thought was pretty neat. I also like how he's quite apathetic despite his theatrical temperament... I think it emphasizes who/what he is as a character (cryptid television man)

I'm WEAK for all sort of evil scientist -adjacent characters so Virgil was instantly interesting to me! Even without the full profile there are still many interesting pieces of trivia about him that I find fun to try to piece together to form a bigger narrative. To me he comes off as very work oriented person who finds his profession to genuinely be his passion, and him frequently forgetting to eat sounds like a common problem for people absorbed by their work haha. The story behind his scar is very intriguing because from the way he seems to be a very careful person around things that could endanger or hurt him (be it germs or unhealthy food or the fact he carries a weapon at all times) one can't help but wonder what happened to him, and whether the scar is a result of someone else having caused him harm than him having been in a simple accident - but I don't know, and that's what makes speculation fun!

I also really like his design, even without the scar I find his hunched up shoulders and slight lean forward in his art very distinct visual elements that give him a lot of character even outside the profile itself! I also realized while reading the profile that he's connected to Yvette I have interacted with in another game before!! I wonder if she's related to that part about Virgil being interested in all sorts of anomalies 👀

I was INSTANTLY drawn in by the lore presented through his profile! I really love the duality of his job where he's simultaneously the grim reaper and the guardian angel; guiding dead to the afterlife but at the same time keeping mortals from dying before it's their time to leave. The fact these two aspects directly also tie to his two major "mistakes" in his job are very delicious details and an enjoyable callback to them once you go through his bio. I love how in depth the profile goes with Haneul himself and his relationship to his job, and how human it feels? It's hard to imagine that sort of profession not being taxing to a being who can still think and feel in ways not too different from living humans, and I find his vigilante justice a very delightful aspect of how his profession affects him and his morals. It also reflects his view on life in a nicely subtle way, with how he's choosing to target those who threaten the peaceful lives of others. I think his reputation among his kind is very much earned even if they don't know the whole truth or all the details about him and his mistakes, because ultimately he's able to steel himself and do his job with the dedication it requires, even if it sadly comes at the expense of his own heart and the pain he has to carry within in.

As a sidenote, your way of writing is beautiful and I really admire how cohesive and easy to read the text is while also having that sort of artistic flair to it that makes it unique to you!

Design wise I adore the black-and-white color scheme and the way it ties to his work with death and life respectively. I have a soft spot for hairstyles that hide the other eye and it works particularly well in his design because of how captivating his visible eye looks! The subtle sanpaku eye with the shape and reddish hue near it are very classy and visually pleasing < 3

For the next person: if Varian isn't your cup of tea feel free to pick Selja or Herja instead!

Design: His Design, Damn he looks so beautiful and elegant, The patterns on the butterfly wings looks tropical and forest vibes into it. I love the green and yellowish colour pallets you into the wings, the tone looks pop of colour and vibrate and the patterns look fun and bright to look at, I just feel like the butter fly design looks exotic and wild look. Also The “humanoid body with limbs and head” (I don’t what to call it, apologies) But I just love the yellows and the tone you blend that gives of a honeycomb vibe thing which altogether with the wings matches so well and look really pretty and detailed when you put them together I also like his hair and tenors on his head just adds cherry on top. (Also I really his fluffy hair I love it, its cute!) I like design, Super well-done.

Personality: His Personality is interesting and I like concept of how he lost his memory during his childhood and he no longer socialize and his old personality he used to be in his caterpillar stage and also the fact that he couldn’t remember couldn’t remember even and at least his memory is still linked remain though that fact it says “he’s still very curious, shows affection to those few he trusts, and doesn’t like to go out of his way to hunt humans unless he’s starving.” Which I am glad there are good sides of him. Also the best two things I read are that “ he loves soaring through the skies for the sheer joy of it, and is very fond of listening to music when given the chance to.” Because I feel like I get see his happy personality that bubbly and cheerful since I think of him as very strict and reserved personality which I like and another it mentions is that if he establish a relationship and unwilling to attack them, he may still feel pondering that still reminds as caterpillar I which I don’t what it means but I think what you wrote is that even if he lost most of his memory when he was caterpillar, he still has his personality from his childhood if he bonds with someone and doesn’t attack them (I think that’s what you meant, I apologies if I misread it) (Also Great personality and loke the concept, very charming and cute)

Backstory: His backstory is very refreshing and nice, I like how during the story Varian lost his parents but found his loving parents instead which is adorable since his parents are the caring ones of Varian since in the “Adopted by Humans” chapter it mentions of the village treating him poorly because of his species and the fact that he becomes dangerous when he comes an adult which is untestable but Varian doesn’t deserve being treated poorly, also again Love his adoptive parents that they never judge because of the way he was born, Best parents ever! I also like how I get read how he met his true friend the witch which I was very happy about (Also the best caring and very risky thing the witch did was visiting to chrysalis of Varian and Fenelle and kept meeting them even though it was very dangerous for them but also very cute that they like spending time with them) and the best part is how Varian met Fenelle and he gave gifts to them, even though Fenelle was still nice enough to give another gift anyway. In the “Abandoned By His Family Chapter” I was wondering why Varian’s adopted parents abandoned him I was very betrayed of his parents at first until I realize why they a good reason to do it, I feel both sad and understood altogether because if he were turn into chrysalis and living with his parents, after hatching he would’ve eaten his parents and maybe he may get flashbacks of his old memory of childhood and feel heartbreaking and traumatised if he were to remember his childhood memory (I think that’s how Imagine?). In the “Metamorphosis” and “Currently” Again I like how the Witch doesn’t care about their risk when Varian and Fenelle told them the risk of being if they don’t leave them alone because they won’t able to remember them but the Witch took the risk and basically just talk them and play music which I find it adorable. However I am glad the Witch survived when Varian almost attacked them lamo. But at least Fenelle and Varian greet the witch time and time again the story mention. Also I was very glad that Varian didn’t get angry that his parents abandoned for good reason and they bonded each other like happy family. Also again in the chapter “Currently” I like how the story ends of “Not knowing” story of the quote “Regardless, he’s a predator following his instincts to live and survive, and there is no telling what he’ll do if one encounters him where his hunting grounds lie.” Which makes me wonder if maybe its talking about eating food or if its okay to attack humans for their hunger. (The story is very nice and detail story! The story itself was adorable about how he meets everyone in their lives who care about him, very awesome!)

My Thoughts: So lastly I apologise for that, I read his “info” Tab about an the “About” title and overall I feel sympathy that His caterpillar self would’ve feel really guilty to eat people he once loved and met. He is a fantastic character with great design and really good backstory, His backstory just me feel again sympathy because he lost his memory but also hopefully maybe someday, he may find something eat other then humans, I am not sure what else he eats of his species maybe I might have misread something he can eat. But I am happily glad his okay and he still the same as before but mostly different in his adult years now. So yeah, Great character and I love how you put in the detail into him with so much things to read very interesting to read. Well done!

technical parts (codes, profiles etc.): it is well done and pleasing to look at. It's nice to see a moodboard/aesthetic code at the top of the character's profile, as well as it kinda acts like a "summary" of his personality/character. Giving a first glance of the character idea. The netflix-like description before the character profile gives off the reader what story/character belongs to and it helps to identify categories of where it is from. I like there is an age rating for the story to signify if it is suitable for younger audiences or not, it's a good idea at all. The character's profile is short and on point, all essentials are present like his personality and short backstory. I appreciate people who have complete character profiles and all.

Design and character: The character's outfit was more chaotic than his peers, which they have a kind of school uniform. Which it tells his personality as being rebellious and humorous. As reading his short summary of his past, I can feel that the family not giving attention to him was the reason why he is called the "rebellious class clown". His other self shows that he has problems inside and his humorous character it seems like his way to cope and escape from the problems. There are people like that in real life as well where they are happy inside but there are bigger problems within them, which makes the character more real.

sorry took me a moment, but here it is!

at a first glance at the character i can already tell he's very cared for and thoughtfully made! i dig the design a lot, the punk clothing contrasted with the history professor just looks so good. might be a bit of an odd compliment but i think you've done a very good job with the face, the cheekbones and nose shape are very distinct and make sotirios stand out and feel more alive as a character. also, it was pleasantly surprising to see his age, even though he's a vampire and isn't that old for his species, we still do rarely see elderly characters so seeing one, and one so detailed at that, feels great.

i gave his profile a read-through and wow !!!! i find it hard to keep on track when reading long profiles, but for sotirios it was just so interesting that i didn't feel tired at all. i really appreciate all the details about the people he knows and his experiences with war, it lets the reader connect and emphasize with him. i also really loved this line in particular:

"Unlike during World War 2 where Sotirios had to fight face to face, he is fighting with expression and knowledge instead of a gun."

it's a very interesting way to sum up such an important facet in his character, and makes a lot of sense when you consider his current profession as a history professor. there's a lot of themes such as loss, tragedy, and the importance of understanding history that's very well explored and developed in his page.

also i love the portion about his grandson helping him out with his wardrobe, it's such a nice thought! made me smile :3c

also also, the way the invitation to the band was accidentally sent to him is funny and amused me, lol.

also also also, the mirror for sale and the book on the head made me chuckle.

all in all, this is a really great character, and if he's ever used in a video game or webcomic or the like, i'm sure he'll be the favourite of plenty, including mine!

thanks!!! i'm glad you noticed the whole bit about his femininity, there's actually a bit of reasoning (spoilerd because i get a bit ranty.. tw mentions of sexism?)

i was personally really sick of seeing characters in media and the like who were more fem-presenting being portrayed as "bitchy", "shallow", or otherwise weak or inferior, with it sometimes stating a direct cause and effect relationship between the two, since i felt like it was pretty much equating being feminine with just being a worse person and i thought that was just so wrong. tried to go the other way with this dude, with him being one tough motherfucker.

he's pretty "feminine" in his personality though i'd say (which is something i don't really like to say since anyone can be anything, but this is just going off of the stereotype yanno) with him being softer and sweeter and i'd say it's helped him become a better person. in both flesh and spirit i'd say he's a lot more durable than his more masculine buddy

with me being a somewhat masculine dude myself ofc i'm not trying to say that masculinity is bad, my point is just that there's more to strength and character than the typical "strong ideal man" image if you kind of get what i'm saying. different people are different and everyone has their ups and their downs, nobody's better than anyone else for liking this or being that or whatever as long as we're all trying to be the best versions of ourselves, whatever that'd be :V there's nothing wrong with being a pretty dude who dresses like a lady or liking embroidery or whatever

alrighty, first things first… what a beautiful dude! i love his hair, it’s very floofy ^^ and his outfits highlight them very nicely. (especially the alt outfit, man i love that.) but the actual character is so well thought out, from the likes and dislikes to the lore itself. usually with characters that are born with a certain misfortune, it’s hard to give them enough depth and reasoning so it actually works. with mark, you went over every detail and made sure there were no gaps in the lore, and everything made sense. also, most characters who tend to dress more feminine usually act more feminine, but with this character, his appearance doesn’t really reflect his personality. in fact, i was quite surprised when i read his personality. making stupid jokes in an attempt to lighten the mood, and acting pleasant to keep up appearances is a realistic way to deal with truama and negative things. mark’s relationshi with casey is also quite realistic (not to mention very precious <3) due to the fact that many peopl who are more secluded tend to take comfort in one perso/and/or a small group of people.

Just off first impressions, an axolotl prince with a very unique name is really cool! His color scheme is also really nice on the eyes.
Reading his personality, I like how it's displayed. Not too quirky, not too dignified, he's just a lad that's a great addition to the friend group. He's there to have fun and share jokes, but won't hog the spotlight, whether accidental or not. I appreciate that!

Now, the backstory is very interesting! It reminds me of reading, like, mythology stories. I love this concept of a god of wildfire, that sounds so cool, and I like his mom bringing a statue to life just to flex on people, essentially. This story from starting as a benevolent fine arts god that gradually teachers self-defense, to the point of fighting against his own mother (by the way, LOVE the title "all-seeing" apathy) really does make me think of finding lore to a story in a game, or reading a biological story about a mythological god. It's a satisfying story to read, telling me all I need to know about Theo, about his purpose, why he did what he did, his motivations, and what happened to him. It was a pleasure getting to read this story!

I love him. I love how his backstory is just a cat, but he's human now. Those are my favourite types of characters, those that don't need 'rules' to exist and just are. It allows for so much creative freedom, wackiness and fun. Which are my three most important things when I make a character. Nine lives, stealth, claws? Those are the marks of some good cat (characters). I've owned cats, I miss my cat but Sensei and his powers fill that cat shaped hole in my chest. He got a cute lil >:3 face and a crush on princess peach, he's relatable AND funny. Idk he just makes me really happy, the small details (like the Nya or the 9 lives) just makes me feel complete.

fizzelston Pinging because it's been a few months! Anyway Champion of the Scorched is a super fun character and I don't know why nobody has claimed him prior! </3 He might have no full bio as you pointed out but all of his art is so cool (and shout out to this. a mipy) and coneys so much character. You're also so good at drawing and painting muscles like WHOA. But yeah his design fits his role so well; the warm palette and his muscular build give him such a protective and strong vibe-- I would trust him with my life. The red laurel wreath is a neat addition to his design that makes him stand out from other minotaur characters, perfectly fitting for his occupation and aesthetic once again. I'd love to hear more about him and what happened to his village!

Sorry for the ping, wasn't quite sure if I should but I did just in case!

First of all, I love their overall design, plus the design for their armor + clothes is absolutely top-tier, my goodness- Also, I love how deeply developed his story is, and how fleshed out he is as an overall character! Even from first glance he seems like a powerful but also warm-hearted kind of character, if that makes sense? I also love how much of a great relationship he has with Gabreal and Raphaël, and how much he deeply cares about them. Honestly overall he's just a super well-written character, and deserves a ton of love and appreciation!
