The OC Above Is Happy!

Posted 10 months, 12 days ago by Vapor

There are so, so many angst-ish threads here. We've got like "The OC Above Is Sad/Crying/Angry/Embarrassed/Tired/Having A Breakdown/Lonely/Scared/Hurt/Dying. Actual threads, btw . No shade I love depression too but after realizing there is no "The OC Above Is Happy" thread I really felt like this image.

So. Here's the happiness thread. The joy thread. It's self-explanatory. Not sure if this will take off but goddamn you will let your little digital barbies be happy so help me GOD.

  • Remember to post IC! The IC button is on top of the field where you write your post, just switch it on and select the character you wish to use.
  • There is a five sentence minimum!
    • As a general suggestion, not quite a rule, however, please try to match half the post of the person you are responding to.
  • You may only post every three posts or three days after the last post, not three days after your own.
    • Example: [You] [x] [x] [x] [You] or You [x] [x] [three days pass] [You]
  • You may post a "claim" to avoid getting sniped, but please do not take too long on it!

  • Be kind to your fellow players, but know that in-character views are not their own out-of-character. Just because their character's rude to yours doesn't mean they themselves feel that way!
    • Do not skip over users who have you blocked or who you have blocked. Wait for someone else to respond to them before posting.
  • I supervise this thread as much as I can, but if you spot problems, please either DM or ping me.

He's usually a happy guy. For now, Attila is happy to share you a play or musical he took part in. He is a main character in the musical and wants to give you some tickets for it so you can watch.

Maribelle Burnett Vapor

Maribelle was not so familiar with Attila. His work as a curator was most admirable, however, and if she had the time or was even allowed more often, she would have liked to visit more often even if she wasn't so well-read on the era he was from and those he ventured. But, she did not take him for the musical type, at first. She had been sitting quietly, observing, up until the point where he approached her. Half-nervously, she did not meet his gaze. Until he handed her the ticket, and she blinked down at it, reading the gilded lettering. An invitation was an invitation. Was she obligated to attend?

She had been been to a show in years now. Thinking back, she remembered orchestras, operas, the occasional campy show at the playhouse, always dragged to attend with her art-loving father. Thinking about it, even for a moment, made her fidget. But, who would she be if she rejected the offer?

Attila, at least in the moment, seemed excited. Maribelle was no basket of sunshine, but to rob him of that seemed... cruel.

"Thank you." the girl murmured, as she rose from her seat, "If you are really sure that you want me to go with you, that is. Whether I can or not, I..." She trailed off, biting a fingernail, lost in thought. She hoped her general would allow her this much, and she could even bring along one of the soldiers if he was concerned. "I'm unsure if I can, really, but I'll try. It might be..."

       "..Fffffun."

And she was being genuine. But, damn, did the word "fun" pain her to say out loud.

@ NP: maribelle is happiest when succeeding or doing well in something [not combat-related]. she also just loves to learn about most things, science and literature in particular are two subjects she really likes?

otherwise, you can just go for one of her other interests as an idea. go crazy.

Maribelle's expression did not change as much as... per say, her atmosphere, save for the tension lessening in her resting bitch face. From that alone, for those who could pick up on the littlest details, it wasn't hard to say that she was, for once, not an emo little brat. She stared quietly down at her report card -- all As, and a C in mathematics. She, for once, was proud of herself. The praise made it all the better, even if for a moment she shied away from the man's touch.

"..I think I want Taco Bell this time." She replied as she slunk away to retrieve her bag. "Next time, hopefully, I'll... I just need to study more and I -- and I will..." Trailing off, she looked back over at the teacher. "Thank you, again. I'll try harder, at least -- it'll give him something less to complain about, if he sees my... this one go up, but -- you know. Here--" She pulled her bag over her shoulder. "Let's just go. I have to be back by sundown."

Alcott Northwind PicklePantry

"Report cards came out," Alcott said as he locked up his classroom for the day. Report cards. He never thought he'd have to think about those as a parent anymore. Remembering how messy it always was made him exhausted already. Imagine his own son getting a low grade in history because his method of studying was Dynasty Warriors fanfiction. The topic wasn't even Eastern culture. Imagine having a daughter scream and shout after getting grounded for failing home economics.

Fortunately, he didn't have the punishing expression on his face when Maribelle pulled out her report card. "I can already tell what kind of grades you got. The science teacher was talking to me about you at the lounge earlier today. She's impressed by how fast you've learned." He gave her a light pat on the back. "Wish you were in school when my kids were. I bet I'd see a lot more A honor rolls. But hey, let's celebrate. You want McDonald's, KFC, or Taco Bell?"

"Iowa" Morada BubblyMuffinz240

Was it Henry's birthday? Probably not, but that wasn't going to stop Iowa from breaking into the Hellfire Forest with cupcakes. Or rather, he could have gotten into the forest through normal means, but he wouldn't be able to smuggle in the desserts. Somehow, the little knight had caught wind of Twix candies being Henry's favorite candy. In an attempt to make "new allies," Iowa had created a pack of cupcakes with plenty of Twix flavor just for Henry.

The only problem was that the Hellfire Forest was sort of big. She wasn't sure how to find Henry before they were kicked out for littering and feeding the wildlife. He eventually came up with the idea of leading Henry to them. Sure, it would be a huge risk to her, but it would all be worth it for such a powerful ally.

Butterflies made of ice flood the surrounding area, but they don't last very long under the heat. Iowa would perish too if it weren't for their magic. But their health matters NOT. What does matter is Henry enjoying the cupcakes she made.

"Dearest Henry, I have heard great things about you on this brochure Lucifer gave me. I humbly request your help in battle. I... Don't have an exact battle that needs fighting. But I'm sure you're up for the task. Especially since you're devouring my ally cupcakes! I expect us to have a meeting after this."

Iowa enjoys any sort of positive attention, especially about her skills in magic and baking.

Hala Oidekivi Vapor

       "Oh, excellent!"

Hala gave a happy little clap of her hands as she strode up to Iowa, her eyes wide, her smile pleased. The teenager seemed proud of themselves, and why wouldn't they be? Previously, they had seemed to struggle with their powers, specifically the physical consequences, the wear and tear, the exhaustion... but right now? Aside from a skip in their breath, it appeared -- at least to Hala -- that they did well. Not that she would know too much about it. She was far from experienced with magicks and the like, but the look on their face... she couldn't help but to feel for them.

"You did wonderfully." She commented, looking at him curiously. There was passion in his work. Earnestness. Even for someone his age, it was admirable to see, and to think more of it, Hala continued to smile kindly. With more care in her approach, as if expecting Iowa to be freezing to the touch, she rested a hand on his shoulder. "Though I might not know much about these things... it's in your eyes! Don't you know that? It's what I like to see, and I..."

"..I'm sure your teachers have many expectations for you, if this is what you can manage so far." she added, "Why don't I treat you to something nice in the meanwhile? ..I can make good baklava!"

@ NP: hala likes spending quality time with people . she has her interests ofc but getting to share them with others or just spending time with those she likes makes her happy

Chad Bradshaw PicklePantry

There was something about kittens and the internet that could make even the coldest heart melt. Chad was a firm believer of that. It was also the perfect thing to pull up when he wasn't sure how to handle any situations, like with Hala. He loved spending time with her, but it always felt like there was a heavy cloud hanging above her. He knew it was because of things in her personal life, things he wasn't close enough to pry into-- things he wouldn't understand even if he had pried.

So the internet saved him. He'd show her videos of cute animals, and she always seemed to enjoy them. Sometimes he'd be able to sneak in a selfie. He wanted to do that right now, actually. So, as he continued to show her a small clip, he got ready to change his phone to its front camera but stopped when he glanced over his shoulder.
There was a small smile on her face, but something in her eyes was different. Brighter; alive. Happy. Truly happy.
Chad's own expression softened. He turned back to his phone and changed to another video. Selfies were great about immortalizing moments like these, but just this once he wanted to keep it for himself.

〖 Klaus de Morcerf 〗 Draganora

ramyune Finally got the courage to respond to one of your forum posts! I love your writing so much, I hope you enjoy this little snippet! :3c

"I'm so glad you suggested this walk, Carmen!" Klaus had always enjoyed going on walks, especially with this gorgeous fall weather. "Honestly, I've been meaning to get out of the building." The man walking at the Morcerf's side had always had a rather base expression - which he hardly minded. The noble chuckled as he looked up at the bright blue sky, not a cloud to be seen. Nothing could mark this as a more perfect day, bright and sunny and still with the lovely flowers and greenery that summer brought. "Had I known you sooner, you would never strike me as the person to enjoy being outside like this." he passed a look to Carmen, leaning forward slightly. While the immortal wasn't as enthusiastic as their walking companion, Klaus could still see the corners of a smile which put him at ease.

Now, they had been on their way to the woods, an old dirt road. "Do you think we'll catch a look at any wildlife? Have you seen the crow flocks around this area? They're so silly." he paused, attacking himself to the immortal and pointing right toward a bush. "I think there's something there, look- look!"

Remei Bardales Vapor

It made sense that he would be at peace. Sat by the fireplace within the Wisteria Castle, curled up with a pot of tea, chatting about what was good -- Remei could understand it. Though she was by no means afraid of the lord, she maintained as much respect as she could manage. Hopefully it was friendly enough as not to ruin such a gentle moment. It honestly pleased her more to hear of his interests. While she was more in the business of repairs, she could not deny how gears turned, how they interacted with each other, spun by hand and lever, how it all pleased her. And him, apparently.

         Though, that wasn't all.

"Your husband sounds impressive." said Remei, mildly, "I can see why you would love him." It was a bit of a foreign concept to her. She avoided women she was interested in, simply because she was a loser. Klaus, however, was a winner. Winner winner chicken dinner. He had a cute husband, a lovely estate, wealth and power and noble duties to fulfill... was she envious? Maybe a little. Still, she managed a smile, but it did not look quite right.

"..I'm happy for both of you." she then added, "And for your people -- they must be overjoyed as well to have someone such as you in charge of them. But... on your craftsmanship... if I may be bold... is-- is it alright if we took a look at your works? ..I dabble in mechanics and working by hand myself."

Maybe that way, she could keep the positive mood going. She needed a little sunshine, after all.

@ NP : go crazy. she's usually hesitant to show much happiness because she's painfully shy but she sure can be happy anyways.

Zack Bradshaw PicklePantry

There she was again. Same time, too. Zack watched silently from the counter as Remei browsed the animals in his shop, all of which pressed against their cage doors to win some attention from her. She obliged with all of them. None of them ran away, they were all familiar with her. If they thought she was someone good enough to want pets from, who was he to doubt that?

Despite how often she'd been visiting, Zack didn't know much about her. She barely looked his way, always looking away if a wandering gaze ever landed on him. He was used to that, but she was shyer than the average person, like there was something else behind her skittishness. They barely spoke because of that. He only got her name, Remei, and that she's a student at a far off university.

Zack glanced down at his phone's clock. Five minutes. He looked back at Remei. There it was, just the slightest image of a smile among all the squirming puppies and kittens. Always on time. He couldn't help but give a tiny smirk himself. It was nice seeing how good the animals made people feel.

He won't smile if he's happy, but he might have like a tiny blush. Usually really happy when he sees a cute animal or someone with animal ears.

(hello, it's been a day; I hope this is okay! dgjnfgj)

"-and that's how that overly spicy hot chocolate came to be." Evie finished her lengthy explanation that could have been condensed to one sentence, all the while making it sound like she was talking about her son when mentioning the inspiration behind it. She was positively beaming, her ears occasionally twitching while she laid out her next sentence.
Perhaps it was a silly thing to be excited about but really, she spent most of her time working or thinking about work, so there was not much else she could tell him and she had to tell Zack something, right? ...and this was important to her, no matter how trivial it may be to other people. Though... her excitement was probably more a sign of how much she enjoyed spending time with him whenever their schedules allowed it. She couldn't help but want to share these things with him either! And Evie was eternally grateful that Zack had not cut her off or otherwise made her feel inadequate for being excited about having a new hot chocolate item on her ever growing menu. He did seem... distracted, however.

Finally falling into comfortable silence for a bit she simply observed his face, smiling to herself as she noticed the faint blush on his face. As enamored as she was by it, she decided not to point it out, fearing it might be awkward to do so. Zack had been watching her ears, hadn't he? She had noticed him looking at them before. It made sense, of course, for they were... awkwardly expressive. Another thing he didn't seem to mind.
"I'm sorry, perhaps I got a bit too excited about that recipe..." she admitted awkwardly, a sheepish smile accompanying the blush that now crept onto her own face. "How have your animals been?" Evie inquired, hoping to see his face light up a little once again. Was it creepy that she enjoyed looking at him when he talked about them or showed her pictures? There was just something so beautiful about the way his features softened ever so slightly and the warmth in his voice and gaze... how could one not adore this man?

NP: Go wild, Evie looks happy most of the time!

Rylex Marclyn

It was a bitter and cold night. Along with a contentious downfall of everlasting snowfall. That's when Rylex walked in, rather miserable tryna escape the brisk night, covered in snow from head to toe. Still with his candy cane in mouth. The cold soldier noticed a dancing and humming Evie, blissfully working her magic in the kitchen. The candy cane in Rylex's mouth almost dropped as his jaw dropped, he was rather shock to see such a happy dancing bunny gal. At such late hours too. The soldier couldn't help but take the candy cane out of his mouth and started to pretend play drums with it. He even started to make an amazing beat to match the rhythm of Evie's hums and dances. Which probably lead her to notice him. It was rather awkward or fun, depends on how one sees it. The two just dancing together and beatboxing.

"Rylex just tryna escape winter's fury here. But thanks for making Rylex's night. You be'n all giddy 'n happy mak'n Rylex feel good. Say, maybe Rylex will git some' here." As he looks around the shop, and notices lots of heart themed things. Rather girlish. "How 'bout dat." Pointing to some random cookie. As Evie ranged Rylex up he felt like he should make her smile too, just as she did him. "Lookie here." Rylex pulls out another candy cane from his pocket and takes out the candy cane from his mouth. Then makes the two candy cane face each other and kiss, forming a heart. "Rylex notices ya'll be gett'n lots of heart themed stuff here. He thought maybe you enjoyed dat. Ha!" The soldier thanked her again and blew on her bunny ears, than immaturely cackles. He finally whisked his nasty self into the dreaded night.

Rylex couldn't believe this was happening. He was over the moon, overly excited and very happy. So much so, he didn't catch the state Sal was in. Rylex was all smiles, from ear to ear. Rylex got gifts for them all and he dressed for the occasion as asked and tasked with. Rylex finally caught wind that Sal was speaking to him and he just nodded along. Not really paying attention still. Something about station? Oh well, he'll wing it when he gets there. "Yo your moms gon be alright. When Rylex in town, he gon take good care of her. Rylex knows she been taking care of people her entire life. Time for someone to take care your sweet moms. Rylex super excited to meet her. And yo sis?" Right? He mentioned his sister?

Salvador Wapenburg fizzelston

Landscape, after landscape passed. The busy city of Drakenburg quickly changed into woodlands and miners outposts. The big mountains of the Highlands were a permanent mark that anchored the landscapes. Salvador had his forehead pressed against the window of the train. Scanning the landmarks as they passed them.
“Are you wearing your nicest suit?” he asked Rylex, while not looking at the soldier. “Mum requested it. It was an order.”
He finally managed to remove his face from the window and to look in Rylex's direction. His eyes scanned the soldier from tip to toe. “You are good at following orders.”
He crossed his arms. Felt his gaze slowly drift back to the window as he continued to speak: “We arrive in Broekeinde at 13:45,” he said. “Mum and my sis will pick us up from the station. They prepared dinner,” he added. “Nachtlicht, night light… It's familiar to,” he turned his hand, “Christmas? You have food. Presents. And it's cold outside,” he described.

“The food is good. Goose probably,” he said. “With some soft wine on the side. Do you like wine? Or do you prefer beer?” Salvador leaned back. He studied Rylex once more. His lips pressed. “You’re happy that you got the invitation,” he stated as a fact.
“Good. Because it's a big thing for me Mum.”

Sal trying to understand the unspoken dynamic

For a few minutes, Salvador experienced true joy. He’d saved enough to buy a good bar of chocolate. The thief had his hand pressed against the shop window, his forehead resting against the glass. He only needed to decide which one.
Salvador flinched as he felt the hand on his shoulder. He looked and froze. The smile directly twisted upside down. “Welvaren,” he replied. “It could be longer,” he directly added, as the other said it had been a while since they’d met. He followed Fabricio’s movement with a frown. Trying to shake the hand of his shoulder. “I don’t want a gift.”

He watched as Fabricio’s deminer shifted. Confused. “I thought you didn’t like me,” he said. “The rejection of your gift shouldn’t hit you this hard.”
Salvador then finally looked up and his eyebrows raised. He watched the unspoken interaction between the two beings in silence before his focus completely shifted to bright blue eyes. “If you’re looking for my leidsman, boss, he’s back in the Old Chapel.”
