if you're unsure of what "cliches" you get in a high school AU, here's a list (the options aren't limited to this - be as oddly specific as you want):
- the Head Cheerleader™
- loser nerd, usually lowkey adorable
- the main character who always sits by the window
- the smart asshole (or if you're a danganronpa fan, The Togami)
- the senpai
- the tsundere that wants senpai to notice them...b-baka
- the emo
- the one who always shows up 15 minutes late with coffee

That one kid who cares about only 2 people; himself and one other person. That's it. Doesn't care about anyone else and does whatever he pleases.
The popular girl with a large group of friends and string of adoring suitors. She's very active with volunteer work in her community and runs for student council every year. Freshmen expect her to be the stereotypical Alpha Bitch, but her kind personality surprises them when they get to know her. Overall, Ankha is someone who is almost friends with everyone!
The mysterious, cool transfer kid. He doesn't know it, but a bunch of students have already formed a fan club for him. Neferma'at tries to get along with everyone to the best of his ability, but sometimes he becomes bothered with the other students, and finds somewhere to sit and study quietly on the campus.
Probably the Cool One TM of the anime club, everyone is kinda doubtful she belongs until she starts gushing about manga, Will buy food every second day for everyone at the club and no-one quite knows how or why but every each persons favorite snack is always there.
The tsundere! The main character's main romantic or platonic interest. The main + main's friend group would be very amused by his pessimistic mindset. Other students who know him less would see him as the studious and cold prodigy.
Possibly a friend of the main character who's obsessed with cute things? Really likes cats and chibi-ish stickers and bakes sweets for her friends when they're down.
