Please make sure to read the rules carefully! They are not long and are here to make sure everyone has a good time and nobody has to be banned

Rules:

  • You must fill your claim within 12 hours! Failing to fill the claim will result in you being skipped
  • Make sure everyone can view your gallery! If you have +18 content make sure it's tagged so that minors can't view it!
  • No passive aggressive or backhanded comments, or anything that could be read as negative or hostile. If you don't like someone's art, don't claim that user. This is a compliment thread, not a critique thread!
  • You can post again after three new posts have been made after yours!
  • If you have already claimed a user once, feel free to compliment one specific piece from their gallery! This is to prevent the game from being clogged
  • Your comment must be at least two full sentencesTry to put effort into your comment, and if you can't think of anything nice to say, maybe don't claim that person at all.

This is not targeted at anyone in particular, but just a reminder that even though cutting your long sentence into two shorter sentences technically gives you the minimum two you need to participate, it's an extremely scummy tactic and absolutely not fair for the person you're claiming! If you can't think of anything nice to say, wait for someone else who you can give a proper reply to. I'm sure you wouldn't want a clearly low effort response either

Banned users:

N/A. Let's keep it that way!

3 warnings = ban from the thread. However, in really big problem situations (insulting and slandering etc) the ban might come immediately

If someone hasn't finished their claim or otherwise causes you trouble, feel free to DM me so I'll give a strike! Please also notify me if someone doesn't follow through the minimum sentence count either!

Hi umm, I love your art?? It's so vibrant and dynamic, and everything I want in my own like seriously, I love your linework so much! Your thin lines are goals, and I love the sketchy look of so many of your pieces! The way you color and integrate it into the sketch makes each piece seem so alive and full of character, and also not really necessary to say but your anatomy is spot on, and I'm sure that only helps how lively each piece is!

My favorites would by the recent one you did of your friends oc, the dark blue demon boy, and your grumpy pigeon (?) oc! You don't color very often but you absolutely should, your shading and such is minimalistic but looks so nice, I love what you do with shine and highlights to show off the curve of the hair! I also absolutely love the expressions in these pieces, especially the pigeon oc, he does look grumpy and reminds me ever so slightly of Prosciutto from Jojo ahahaha

Keep up the good work!! ;0;

(most of my art can be found on my TH, however here is a link to a recent thread of mine that has clearer hq examples)

I really like the colors you use! Especially in your art of KON2—bright colors like that can be a bit of an eye strain sometimes, but you made it work really well! The black in his color palette balance out the bright colors, I think, so that was a really good choice!

Additionally... As someone who almost never shades any of his artwork, I have to commend you for doing shading in (as far as I can tell) all of your posted work lmao

Most of my art is on TH! There’s some older pieces mixed in with my newer stuff but I think most of the old art is labelled as such in the descriptions.

RUSTY....YOURE TOO KIND.........

I really appreciate your compliments regarding both my digital and traditional art! I’ve always been less... Comfortable..??? With digital art; I always thought the colors I picked were too bright and that my lineart was way too unsteady and that I wasn’t doing it Right by not like, trying to incorporate blending into my art, wether it be part of the base colors or the shading. I feel a little better about all of that after reading your input! (Also, believe me, I’d love to do some digital art but my laptop is BROKEN and I haven’t been able to save up to buy a new one yet aakfkfd)

Honestly I’ve always felt better about my traditional artwork BUT always felt....weird posting it here? I just always feel like people like seeing digital art more I guess? Knowing a time least one person likes my traditional art makes me feel a lot better about posting it lmao,, I really appreciate the comment on how I use value! That’s a particular element of art that I’ve neglected for a while, but now that I’m kinda stuck doing pencil drawings (and dislike using colored pencils hfnsd) I’ve been experimenting with it lately—I’m really glad that drawing of Aurelio was apparently a success ;u;/

kafkaesque

*points at* YOU.

I specifically remember seeing your art when I first started seeing you in the forum games, and... honestly?? I always thought it was really neat?? I've probably since forgotten what drew me to your artworks in the first place, but it was definitely your digital arr... something about how clearly defined everything is - from the lines to the coloring... hell, even the shading just... really stood out to me? it unintentionally gave that comic-book vibe given that at the time, I didn't exactly know you were planning to make a webcomic, but... that asides... I feel like contrast is such an underused technique in art, and your style just uses that beautifully! your shapes, for example, are so defined, and I can tell the characters apart even from silhouette alone. furthermore, the contrasts between the colors is quite refreshing; as much as I like blending when used properly, it's also just nice being able to clearly see the individual colors. u_u

however, even your traditional art is just... really neat tbh?? I'm again terrible at describing, but when it comes to how you're able to make the sketchy element of the medium work in your favor, I can and WILL blab about it. the comments about shapes and color contrasts from earlier still stand even when going from digital to traditional, but unlike your digital art, your traditional art has this balance of textures that I just find inherently charming? it may be due to the fact that you tend to use pencil in your traditional art, but you also demonstrate a clear understanding of values, as shown through this piece as an example! you place more pressure on darker/more defined areas and less on those that are lighter/less defined. as with contrasts, it's a pretty underrated technique, and it's always interesting to see how your pencil art improves with time! speaking of pencils, I find it rather impressive that you're able to draw in such a signature manner even with a relatively limited range of tools, and I can only commend you in that regard!!

keep up the lovely work, and I hope to see more of it in time- :0c

   - I..... I forgot to reply to this, and I'm so sorry fdgvvbrdfgvdrfgv-

ANYWAYS. this is REALLY SWEET and I grinned like a fool when I first read it. I'm still grinning now as I reread it, and it's just dsfvsrfdvsfvdvf- tysm for the kind words and well-articulated response?? it really means a lot to me, especially the symbolism and motive to improve?? I haven't been that much in a drawing mood as of late, but... I do hope the experimentation doesn't come off as inconsistent, but rather just a way for me to convey different aspects of my characters symbolically while also trying to improve on how I execute my pieces- :")))

I'm honestly going to keep coming back to read your response every so often, because it's just... really sweet.... fuck ik I'm being repetitive, but like.... it means a lot to me when I impact other users that way, and honestly in a way that I struggle to describe because of how warm and fuzzy it makes me feel- tysm dude for the reply once more, and apologies for the late commentary!! ;;

YES HI HELLO!!!!! WANTED TO COMPLIMENT YOU SO AS SOON AS I SAW THIS I JUMPED ON THE OPPORTUNITY!!!!! >:)))

Anyways, the first thing I noticed about your art is the textures that you include on the drawings! They're very subtle, but make quite the difference when included and it always gives me those... shiver-y vibes that I love so much! It diversifies your art and puts it out from the rest. This also pulls into the fact that while your art style isn't that complicated, It's still very eye-catching and sometimes when replying to your characters, I love looking through their galleries to see the art you've made for them! (Well, I got your insta for that now >:3c) In a lot of your drawings, you also seem to stick to more earthy and saturated tones, which is something I can absolutely Mewd to because they're so pleasing to look at as well! It's not the classic aesthetic where everything is one color or is a palette of soft, pale colors, but is calming but gives a sense of wonder.

It's not just how you draw overall, but how you make your pieces! My favorites have to be this one of Bernard and this one of Fitzgerald! You use a lot of symbolism when it comes to certain pieces for your characters, and as someone who really appreciates symbolism, these are really great to look at! You even mange to use neons and bright colors against an otherwise dark background with earthy-toned characters against them that makes it pleasing to look at! The way they stand at the top and seem to sort of seep to the bottom of the drawing is also great, and I think that's another aspect of it that I can appreciate.

Overall, your art is great but It's also your motivation to improve! You yourself have said that mayhaps you do a bit too much of feral art, (which isn't bad, your drawings are great wtf) but are doing your best to improve and are beginning to branch out to more things to draw, such as humans! You don't know how much I smile whenever I see Walker or Smithson around in the forum games! For someone doing their best to improve on a weak point they've got, you're doing great to make it better and stylize it to your content and own style. You'll only improve more and more, and I just think that's neat!

Hiya :D! If you're needing examples of my art, look in here! (I do mostly headshots for my characters, so sorry about that! As well as too many splatoon characters lmaoo)

Brook_your_ankles

Your art is HECCA secy like omg I love it so much, the colors the way you shade the proportions ughgfrgthyeuktiujyhwtgfewdc I love it so much----

But actually though I love how you draw the faces Based off of the first page of your art I love this one and this one because of the face shape and how you add that tinniest bit of blush. and the ears OOOOOOOOOO The ears!!! I love how you draw those elf type ears they just fit so well with your perfect style and you're perfect and I'm dead.

I really like this one aswell like ik that it is just a sketch but the proportions are just so amazing!!!! like those legs-- omg I love it so much!!

I'm a fan on splatoon (not a huge fan but_) and your art just gives splatoon a whole new meaning I love how you give characters emotions and evrthing about it I just adore omgggg....

I really like this piece as well Just the emotion and the colors that you chose is just so amazing I loveit so much!!

I just flipped to the next page of your art and I'm dead sorri but I am. The way you draw characters are just beyond this world and you should be proud of your art (I'm not saying that you aren't) because it's just oh so amazing 10/10

First things first, your sketches are so pretty and neat! I am surprised at how clean they are, I am a messy sketcher so whenever I see someone’s clean sketches it impresses me.

Also your line work is amazing, it fits with your style AMAZINGLY. You know how some people’s styles fit certain types of line work perfectly, yours is so smooth and sleek, where your style is soft and gives me a warm feeling.

Talking about styles, your style gives me an ambivert feeling, where it looks warm and friendly but also mellow. Your coloring is soft and dream like, where your style is fun and bright.

Your animations are AMAZING LIKE WOW animating is difficult, I get so frustrated when I try to animate so kudos to you.

Next person, some old art is mixed up with my new art since some people forgot to post some stuff, the correct order will be on my twitter account

Thank you so much! You really boosted my confidence, which has been low lately. I’d hug you if I could!

I really like your art style! Your shading and highlighting really catches my eye and I really like the way you draw eyes! <3
Your anatomy is perfect, and I love all the poses you can draw in C: Your designing is also really pretty, the clothes you've drawn are super detailed with perfect markings and you use a variety of different poses/expressions/hairstyles to make your art unique in every way :3
I especially love the way you do noses, too C:

the user below, my art is in the art section of my profile and a lot of them are recolours, to check if they're recolours or drawings just click them and it should say at the bottom if credit goes to me as 'colour' or just my username credited C:

(I'm currently struggling to put into words what I'm trying to say, so I apologize if I ended up sounding weird/if didn't explain things properly)

I don't really know how to describe this, but I really like how simple your artstyle is, or just how you stylized it is? I like how you draw faces, and how, for me at least, you can tell which character is who just by looking at their face (more specifically their head shape, eyes, and nose) alone, like the way you draw characters makes them look unique.

I also really like the colors you use in your art! They really look good together, and they help make each of your drawing look a bit more cohesive. I also just like how saturated some of the colors that you use are!

There's also the way you draw backgrounds, specifically for the more scene-like drawings. The characters feel like they're actually there. Also like how much some of your art shows about the characters, like this and this says something about the characters involved.

Also, these two pieces (1st and 2nd) caught my attention. For the first one, I really like its composition, like from his pose, to the background jigsaw puzzle and how it fades from white to black. For the 2nd one, what first caught my attention was the colors, but then I saw that it was also animated and basically that's cool!

For the next person, here's my ArtFight, my Instagram, and my art tab on TH. (They all have different artworks in them. My art tab is mixed with both new art and old art in no real order.)

V ahh, thank you for your kind words!!

tl;dr there’s a lot🤠

I love the “anime” feel of your art style as a whole! You put so much detail into every drawing, especially the hair and clothes, and your line art is very clean! The way you shade(mostly clean lines with a bit of blurring)also reminds me of anime, and it has a really distinct and neat feel to it! I love seeing you alternate between normal and chibi style as well, and your chibi art always manages to keep that same level of detail! Finally, whenever you don’t use a complex background, you usually go with a circle or another shape, and that not only makes the picture even more eye-catching and pleasing to look at, but it also gives your art a unique aesthetic!

whoever goes next: you can check my Instagram if you don’t feel like my art tab has enough examples.

Your art is really pleasing on the eyes!! It has tons of energy & expressiveness to it that rlly pop, like theres lots of life in it all. Expressions are especially notable, they're just so full of personality & done rlly well. There's lots of little recognizable elements to it that really make your whole style distinct!!

Also the more saturated, pop-ish color palettes & styles of shading/lighting that you use are also just. so good?? I can't quite put it into words but its really great. & your lineart!! Something about the way you line stuff is so appealing & meshes well with the piece its on, its just 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

I really like how expressive your characters are! Looking at your art, I feel like every expression is very well conveyed, even the stronger ones! I know it can be hard but you did a great job on this c: I also enjoy your character designs as a whole, they're simple but you can very easily tell who is who at first glance! The way you draw faces is also super cute, especially here! Speaking of this piece, I honestly love how you drew the stuffed rabbit! It's all soft and round which give it a comforting vibe, but its blank eyes also are a reminder that it's not actually alive-- I find that very clever given the context, haha.

Another piece I like is this one! It's just... very fun and gives a good introduction of the dynamic between the two characters; the kind of stuff that makes you want to learn more! :)
