Jericho felt pity for the girl, mixed with empathy and compassion, she was way stronger than she probably would admit. He'd been around others not much unlike her, mostly children of people he'd been assigned to protect. Being around a bodyguard such as him had a way of making children withdrawn or otherwise not outgoing. Of course, Miu was different than that, but he couldn't help but feel a connection to those before through seeing her. He understood some of her qualities in a way, and the apparent sickness she had made him wonder if he could even carry on through life if he was unable to do all the things he did, let alone from the beginning of his life. He found that inspiring, that she was still here and no doubt trying her best, even if just getting by day to day. That he could very much relate to.
He approached cautiously, taking a seat beside her with a gentle smile. After a moment, he'd speak. "Y'know, you do have a lot going for you. I know you've got these things that hold you back, I ain't gonna make it out that you're a superhero or something. But... you're very intelligent. I can tell. Very observant." He'd prop his leg up towards his chest, letting his hand rest on his knee. "I dunno what goes on in your mind, but there's a lot you can still accomplish without being physically gifted. Shit, some of the best people I know are more of the thinking type than the action one. I'm definitely on the latter side, but I got enough sense to see you're capable of a lot more than you might think. You just gotta give yourself the credit and the leeway to fail, because that's what gives you reason to carry on."
He chuckled, "Regardless, you've got guts. With everything that you have dealt with, you're not lying down and giving up. That's more than half the fight to me." He let his leg fall back, staring forward in thought. "There's plenty of times I could have. Been through hell many times; shot, stabbed, beaten, broken... it's easy to just lie down and say you had a good run. You haven't, and you deal with a lot more than I have, daily. That says a lot about you, and it's...well, inspiring, really. You're awesome, Miu."
He stood up, but not before softly placing a gloved hand on her shoulder, just barely putting pressure down. "Life isn't fair, but you've got a life to make for yourself. Sometimes, you just gotta kick life's ass, show it who's boss. It's hard, painful, and depressive, but that road is worth more than anything else. Embrace it like you are, and you'll find what you need." He smiled, his sharp teeth almost contrasting his caring demeanor. "I'll see you around. 'Til next time."
