Your OC compliments/praises the OC above them

Posted 6 years, 4 months ago by Cryss

Because everyone loves in character versions of existing games!

The point of this thread is for the character you post as to give the OC above them some praise or compliments! It mirrors my other thread, where you as the user compliment an OC, but an IC option seemed fun as well. As with the other thread, your character's compliments can be about anything you can read in the above character's profile and their gallery! It also doesn't have to be about just one topic; your character can list everything they love about that character if that's what their heart desires c;

Rules

▶︎ This thread is completely in character, meaning it's your character who's talking about the OC above! For the OOC version, check out my other thread <3
▶︎ When responding to a person's praise of your character, please do so by editing your comment! This response can be both OOC or IC.
▶︎ Don't forget to post IC! Otherwise people have no OC to give praise to and they might have to base the praise off your icon instead.
▶︎ Post a claim comment first, then edit it with your words of praise. That way you're less likely to be ninja'd.
▶︎ You can make it as short or as long as you want, from a single sentence to entire paragraphs.
▶︎ That being said, more complete reasons are always more fun. Try to give it your everything and give the other person something pleasant to read!
▶︎ Don't be rude or passive-aggressive; I get that you're writing from the point of view of your character, but if your character doesn't like the character above them, then there are other IC character opinion threads for that!
▶︎ If any issues arise in the thread, please contact me on my main account ElithianFox to resolve them.

Hartley Cromwell toynbeees

"You. Are. So. Cute!"

Hartley isn't the type to gush over kids, honest, but rarely are there kids so genuinely adorable just wandering about in the wasteland. Okay, so Iowa is technically a teenager, not a child, but Hartley doesn't care much for the specifics of it all. The point is, their bouncy brunette hair and enormous eyes are just too damn sweet.

Iowa is barely cresting five foot, and so Hartley has to look down at them as she speaks. It only adds to the cuteness, as far as she's concerned. "Okay, so I'm aware that you probably don't like being called cute, who does, but come on. Anyway, you can handle yourself and look good doing it, so I'd call that a win in my book."

[Thought I'd let you know that your image URLs on Iowa's page are broken btw!]

emelda alcaraz creatfran

"Ooohhh," Emelda grinned as she looked at Hartley, a gleam of wonder in her eyes. "Oh my god, can I first comment on your scarf? I thought I kinda looked stupid with mine, but you rock yours so well. It looks nice with your hair, too, which is a nice bonus!"

"And let's not forget about the whole mercenary thing," she clasped her hands together. "I'm kinda the same thing - an assassin - but it's neat how you started doing your job on your own. Being your own boss must be a lot of work, so I have kudos for you. And the fact that you got in a relationship to the guy you were supposed to kill? Even cooler...er, I hope that made sense."

In Emelda's head, she thought about a certain pair of people she was supposed to assassinate and ended up being best friends with. The thought twisted her expression from happy to amused when it sunk in. Hartley and her were more similar than she would have expected or imagined, though it made meeting each other a lot more interesting. She was excited for the mercenary and the future she held, and only wished the best for her and Atlas.

Maribelle Burnett (Pre-6016) Vapor

She seemed happy. Disregarding Emelda's "work" for her family -- frankly, that was a little much for a ten-year-old to understand the element of how cruel a life that was, and for the fact it was all lost on her to begin with -- the older woman was relaxed, on the surface totally unbothered. That was how a dancer was supposed to be, right? And her dance, mesmerizing, the twirl of her hands and the vibrant fan she carried like the flutter of bird wings, as chaotic as it was graceful. This was far from what the noble girl was raised on, but it was...

...Honestly, it was difficult for Maribelle to approach Emelda on the basis of how talented she was to the point of intimidation. Even as she forced herself to do so, she noticed herself wanting to shy away -- and there was no way she could possibly tell the dancer everything she thought of her. All positives, mind you. She hadn't the heart or the brain to comprehend anything other.

"Your dancing..." Maribelle was slow to speak, struggling to find the right words. She had to be smart with them, whatever that meant -- as detailed as she could possibly be, borrowing from her thoughts. "..Is very good. Excellent. Even. Like you're -- you... are pretty on the stage. My father, he thinks so, too, but I don't know if he understands as well -- or maybe he does more so than me. But your dancing, it's not like... the kind back home. It is elegant, and it -- the footwork, it's fast and... complicated? And intense. And it's nothing like I've seen before on any stage."

@ NP: god she has so many tabs i am so sorry . you can respond to this tab of her, or her default profile, or her post-war version, or her even older 6041 version . go nuts just let me know if you choose any version but this one.

Allegretto PicklePantry

"I take it your father--" Allegro said the last word cautiously, gauging little Maribelle's reaction to see if he had the right term. "--was the one that had to venture out and took you with him?" He could hear it in her heart, a reluctance to be here. That reluctance had a heavy tone, like it wouldn't go away even if she were to have stayed home. Part of that was because of him, he was sure. Having to roam around a crowded area with someone you didn't know had to be stressful. Wasn't this the exact opposite of what children were supposed to do?

A man in a black suit approached the prince to whisper something in his ear. He nodded in reply and the man left, shortly returning with Otto behind. Allegro smiled and looked down at Maribelle, giving her a hand a reassuring squeeze. "That didn't take too long, did it? And you were very brave. To push onwards even when you didn't want to is a strong thing to do." He walked her over and listened to Otto speak, though his thoughts began to drift. If only En were here, he was always more energetic and better with children.

Ebeneer Ezradi duckjeans

"Music's no easy talent," Ebeneer says with a smile. He readjusts his glasses from their crooked position to sit neatly on his nose. Anyone who knew how to play an instrument or sing or even just read sheet music was always immensely talented in Ebeneer's eyes. Music was a form of art, after all, and it was one that always brought joy to others, and especially to its creator. To find a tune in the wind or the water or the chatter of people in the streets was like a language he could never hope to understand. "I wish I knew how to play an instrument, but I really can't wrap my head around it! I can only imagine the years of practice and progress you have under your belt."

Maybe in another lifetime, he was a musician. It was fun to muse about. For now, he was content to merely hear Allegretto speak of it. "I imagine everyone asks you about your favorite instrument, but what's your least favorite? Ah, but maybe you don't have a least favorite... they're all wonderful in their own way, I think."

Naveen ChristianCupcake

"Woah, you look so cool!" Naveen blurted out. "Uh, I mean, I really like your outfit!" His face grew warm and he fumbled with his necklace as he stood before this gentleman. His thoughts swirled as he tried to think of something to say that wasn't stupid. "You look super fancy and... what's the word... distinguished? Yeah, that's the word. You also seem like a really smart person. I guess you gotta be smart to be a geologist."

Ennette PicklePantry

"Wow, so you're half god?" gasped Ennette. She clutched her lyre tightly as her eyes widened with stars in them. "That's amazing! You know, I have some Greek in me too, but only siren blood, no gods. And to be the son of the goddess of rainbows! Oh, that's so neat!" She was acting as if she were talking to a celebrity. It wasn't too far off for how she felt.

"How jealous I am of yours powers! To be able to create rain for your plants at will, it sounds so nice." Not to mention that cloud manipulation. The people she could impress with that! She pointed at his pendant, "Your pendant is beautiful, too. Is that a gift from your mother?"

Novem Aloofcloud

"Ennette." Novem's voice is soft as he addresses the woman, gliding over to her with flowers in hand.  They had been seeing each other off and on throughout these past months.  Things were a little difficult with her father, King En making it obvious he wasn't fond of Novem in the slightest.  That didn't deter the man one bit, he wasn't scared of king, and if it ever came to blows, Novem was not at all against using Ennette against her father. He really was awful after all, but Ennette didn't need to know all that.

"I saw these on my way over, and couldn't help but think of you." He handed her a dozen pristine white roses, plucking one from it's plastic bindings before placing fastening the flower into her hair, tucked into her ear. "There, a beautiful flower for a beautiful woman."

Feel free to compliment him on his looks, on a side note while Novem is an awful, awful man, he only ever portrays himself as a very good, kind man, so your oc wouldn't be wrong to tell him he's a good person...

Catherine Morgan banyayo

"Thank you so much!" she beamed, warmly shaking his hands. It was already late, and she didn't realize that she was being tailed by a stalker.  It was fortunate that a kind soul like him decided to step in and handle the situation. The moment he stepped in, he seemed to have scared the living daylights out of the stalker, as he immediately ran away.

"You were so cool back there! You just stepped in, and then bam, he ran away!" she chuckled, admiration in her eyes, followed by a sigh of relief. "I seriously can't thank you enough, mister! The next time I bump into you, I'll make sure to return the kindness!" she exclaimed, waving goodbye as she happily walked away, the weight of potential danger lifted from her shoulders.

v AHHHH I LOVE IT! WAKING UP TO THIS IS ✨✨✨✨ (a lil follow up ehe)

"Oh, no one can be too old for pop music, it's for everyone!" Cathy chuckled, her eyes lighting up with a playful spark. "...Well I guess not everyone, but those who like listening are more than welcome!" She hadn't expected to bump into him again, but his appreciation for her music added an unexpected joy to her day. "Your encouragement means a lot though! Thank you!" she beamed, a touch of giddiness evident as she accepted the compliment.

"-Oh! Before I forget, if you're looking for Mr. Pierre, I think I just saw him sprint towards the hallway over there," she gestured in the general direction where she last spotted him. "...Kinda weird though, cuz I'm pretty sure the photoshoot rooms are on the upper floors." She shrugged, a puzzled expression briefly crossing her face before she added, "Maybe he found a shortcut there, or maybe he just likes running!"

Phan Elsiikun

"Ohh dear me." Phan beholds in surprise and delight at the brightly hair-colored fellow that his eyes set upon.  What he sees is all the average individual could expect, the nice-looking physique, the beauty in the face, and the choice in clothing not because they are finely ornate or top of all class, but because they are simply just perfect enough for this gentleman, nothing more nothing less.

However, he sees something in this man that is so much more and visceral, that the previous traits he took notice of are just merely things he'd acknowledge. What he sees something beyond than the external beauty that mortals can gaze in awe upon. That kind of visceral beauty is subtle, however to Phan, it is blaring very loudly that all his senses are assaulted with it, and it excites him. He likes it. He beams a delighted smile at the man named Renard.

"it isn't always that I find myself within the presence of an individual of such greatness, but oh dear me I think I have find myself in one right now." Phan says with glee on his face. "It is something that I myself can't explain with mere words, I can only feel it, And I like it quite a lot!" His smile slowly morphs more into a grin, however he soon composed himself. "Ah, excuse me where are my manners there." He said with a soft laugh. "You're quite a wonderful one to behold, and I can tell that you know that already. And that's even better! I love it when people know how great and wonderful they are."

"It is of very great pleasure and marvel in meeting such a gentleman. I could not be more appreciative of you being you."

OOC: Woop sorry this took long, I fell asleep not realizing I had a claim to edit haha

Orianna Fuchs Vapor

What a magnificent king he was. It was his smile, pearly white and almost disarming, the lull of kindness -- all which situations could be soothed by, if one was so determined to keep up the act. Beneath that thin layer of sweetness, however, it was not difficult to find someone who was as all rulers were. Orianna had become accustomed to it, being in charge of her House's territories whilst her father busied himself in the province's center, and had long assumed others who had held a mantle like hers to want to maintain the power given to him. And Phan...

"Don't think I'm criticizing." Orianna said, as she leaned against the chaise. Smoke filled the air as she nursed from an opium pipe, her eyes fixated on the man before her. "It's good work, what you do, surely -- and to even bear to smile through it all is something I wish I had the ability to do. At least I can admit that sometimes my anger gets the better of me. Does that count for anything? But you... you are certainly resilient. So up close, so personal, people like that. Surely your subjects do. They like a leader they can confide in..."

"..But, enough of that! Don't let me ramble too long, or else we'll delve into some philosophical nonsense." Orianna blew out a wispy line of smoke. "Instead, how about your outfit? You must have some royal tailors or something along those lines. The colors and embroidery are just to die for. Would you be so kind as to lend me just one of your craftsmen?"

miu stxrfallen

Miu has always been drawn to stronger personalities, and Orianna is no exception. She just barely manages to keep up with conversation; the topics whizz by so fast, and Miu can barely think or speak fast enough. She leaves the talking to the others present in the room, keeps to the sidelines until she gets a chance. For now, she admires the woman from here, sea-blue eyes almost sparkling.

It's a few days later --- or only a few hours, or perhaps even just seconds, Miu can't tell --- and the room finally falls a bit more silent, the people present seeming to talk amongst themselves instead of to Orianna. She's not sure how exactly to voice her opinions, but she tries her best, and that's all anyone can really ask of Miu at any moment in time.

"Excuse me," she says, voice hushed despite trying to grab Orianna's attention. "I just wanted to let you know. You have a good personality. I wish I was more like you."

v i am lying down i am crying i am sobbing this is so cute

 Jericho Wey _Deadweight_

Jericho felt pity for the girl, mixed with empathy and compassion, she was way stronger than she probably would admit. He'd been around others not much unlike her, mostly children of people he'd been assigned to protect. Being around a bodyguard such as him had a way of making children withdrawn or otherwise not outgoing. Of course, Miu was different than that, but he couldn't help but feel a connection to those before through seeing her. He understood some of her qualities in a way, and the apparent sickness she had made him wonder if he could even carry on through life if he was unable to do all the things he did, let alone from the beginning of his life. He found that inspiring, that she was still here and no doubt trying her best, even if just getting by day to day. That he could very much relate to.

He approached cautiously, taking a seat beside her with a gentle smile. After a moment, he'd speak. "Y'know, you do have a lot going for you. I know you've got these things that hold you back, I ain't gonna make it out that you're a superhero or something. But... you're very intelligent. I can tell. Very observant." He'd prop his leg up towards his chest, letting his hand rest on his knee. "I dunno what goes on in your mind, but there's a lot you can still accomplish without being physically gifted. Shit, some of the best people I know are more of the thinking type than the action one. I'm definitely on the latter side, but I got enough sense to see you're capable of a lot more than you might think. You just gotta give yourself the credit and the leeway to fail, because that's what gives you reason to carry on."

He chuckled, "Regardless, you've got guts. With everything that you have dealt with, you're not lying down and giving up. That's more than half the fight to me." He let his leg fall back, staring forward in thought. "There's plenty of times I could have. Been through hell many times; shot, stabbed, beaten, broken... it's easy to just lie down and say you had a good run. You haven't, and you deal with a lot more than I have, daily. That says a lot about you, and it's...well, inspiring, really. You're awesome, Miu."

He stood up, but not before softly placing a gloved hand on her shoulder, just barely putting pressure down. "Life isn't fair, but you've got a life to make for yourself. Sometimes, you just gotta kick life's ass, show it who's boss. It's hard, painful, and depressive, but that road is worth more than anything else. Embrace it like you are, and you'll find what you need." He smiled, his sharp teeth almost contrasting his caring demeanor. "I'll see you around. 'Til next time."

v STOP IM ACTUALLY GONNA CRY THIS IS SO AMAZING WHAT

He’d go so non-verbal and stoic, but subtly embarrassed as well as thankful 😭🖤 And yes, always appreciate Jericho hour! As well as J hour!
