Trapped on a Raft

Posted 5 years, 8 months ago (Edited 2 years, 3 months ago) by Appicot

You and the character above you are trapped on a raft. Alone. In the middle of a large ocean filled with water and who knows what. How did you get here? Well, if you want to delve into that then its completely up to you!
Now that you are trapped on the raft with (more than likely) a stranger, what do you do? Does your character freak out and pass out? Is your character evil enough to stab open the raft and wait to sink? Or does your character have an affinity for water and you gladly swim away! Whatever they do, its up to you

[RULES]

- Two sentences at the VERY least
- Try to interact with the character above, or at least acknowledge that the character exists!
- Nothing sexual or gory! This is a SFW threat, and the person who runs it (me) is a minor!
- If theres a problem, please let me know!
- Wait at least two turns [GO , 1 , 2 , GO]
- This thread is IC, meaning In Character!

Ethan Wilhelm PicklePantry

Bad luck was something Ethan grew up around. It happened for so long that he had adjusted, he was able to deflect most of the negativity with a smile!
But getting stranded in the middle of the ocean on a raft. That was pretty hard to make into a good situation.
Ethan sank in his seat, the back of his head dropped against the side of the raft as he gazed at the cloudless sky. Hours and it felt so endless! He didn't have any signal on his phone, either. And the worst part? He glanced over at the woman on the other side of the raft. His crummy luck dragged her with him.
Her name was Azure and she seemed friendly enough, tried to hunt some fish to no luck and even gave him supportive hugs, but even she couldn't last forever and was now resting and trying to survive the horrible sun. Ethan sighed. This was all his fault.
"Sorry," he said for what must've been the umpteenth time. "But!" He perked. "I-I mean, could be worse, right? Help will find us soon, right? And besides! We're surrounded in water! We'll be fine! See?" He scooped up some water from the ocean and drank it, cringing at the salty taste but quickly putting on a smile. "D-Delicious!"

Even if it was salty, he was thirsty and desperate. He scooped more water, unaware of the large fin sticking out of the water.

Sade Esterofila

Sade had latched herself onto the poor human boy, constricting his legs with her own legs, and arms, and tail. She was shaking madly, too.

They both somehow got trapped onto a raft, in the middle of an ocean. And Sade was allergic to water. Touching it was the equivalent to a human touching fire. Painful.

"I don't mean to interrupt your panic attack", Ethan said. "But you're kinda cutting off the circulation to my legs."

Sade unwound herself from the human's legs. "Sorry...", she mumbled, looking down like a sad puppy.

She peered over the edge of the raft, face inches away from the dark blue water. She was gonna die here...

"So, how did we get here again?", Ethan said, staring at the scared alien.

"I dunno", Sade whimpered, whipping her head around. One of her antenna smacked her in the face. "But if we don't find food soon, I might end up eating you... and if we get to that point, I wanna let you know right now that I'm really sorry."

"Waitwhat"

Willow [Willie] Appicot

"I mean... I guess there is a lot of salt water for my potions?"

Water. It surrounded her, and this alien she was stuck with-- Amazing. Lovely. Oh no, she was getting mad. She let out a heavy sigh, she had to keep calm. If she didnt, her claws would come out then the raft would get a lot of puncture holes in it. She stood up with a wobble and looked around for anything. She looked over at the alien with a sad smile

"We will get back to land... even if its a island in the middle of nowhere! I should have a potion on me to help us not starve for a few days!

She thumbled around in her jacket, then chugged half the bottle and tossed it over to the alien. She looked over the side, wnd saw many fish and creatures under the water, but then she heard a clunk, then her staff fell in. She let out a small screech then jumped in without thinking.

"is that stick so important to fling youself over the raft?"

"Yes! Yes it is!"

willow argued, grabbing her sick in her mouth then leaping onto the raft and quickly shaking off, then sitting down, just to look at the sky with tiredness

Torriku Atsukaimasu PicklePantry

"Well now, I guess this wasn't the best idea I've had," Tori murmured as he sprawled out on his side of the raft, legs spread out and one hand holding up his phone. No signal, that meant no streaming or uploading videos for his fans. Great. And after he put all the hard work into getting this raft in the middle of nowhere! Tori tilted his head back to gaze at the cloudless sky. It was hot. Definitely a bad day to take his business body out on a walk. Tilting his head back down, he looked at his companion, a small cat that seemed to give him the stink eye. That hat she wore looked shady, but a body like that wouldn't give him much time if he possessed her. Tori sighed and laid down on his back. Hopefully Masa-chan would be able to find him from that huge mountain of his.

Joey.D.wyvern Joey-D-yvern

Joey snorted irritably as she watched the clouds float carefree through the sky. She stood up quickly and opened her wings before closing her left wing slowly, the stretch ripped the hole in it open even wider. SOMEONE had shot her with a fucking HARPOON AGAIN. Was it just a tradition at sea to harpoon wyverns? Good thing they put an old rope on it or surely, she would have been dragged aboard. Her stomach growled loudly causing her to look at the company she had. Spirits, souls same thing and it was inhabiting a meaty meal too, however, last time she tried eating it didn’t end up well. She ended up losing her balance and falling into the water. The spirit had taunted her before dragging her back out of the water.

“I know what you really sound like.” The spirit teased while poking her nose.

Good for you,” Joey growled, using her true voice.

She stared back up at the sky. He would likely try to rattle her cage again but, for now, it would need to find something else to do. If it knew about her true voice does it know how she feels about it? Well, she wouldn’t show that she was bothered. Perhaps when her wing healed she could take the spirit with her. She always found trickster spirits to be fun, they could mess with others together. Yeah, that seemed fun. Joey gave her wing a pitiful flap, it is a cruel thing to ground a wyvern or a bird, or anything with wings for that matter. At least that stupid spirit was too tired to make her see things again but, dehydration probably would.

(She will probably keep using her fake voice until she gets tired)

 Nero celestiials

"Hmmph, how boring."

Persona merely sat on the edge of the shabby raft, clearly unamused by the situation. Not by how they were probably going to be stuck like this for weeks, if not months or some other long moment of time only the gods would know how long; they were like this because they found this boring, drab. That is, until they noticed that a large false-wyvern, Joey, was sitting right next to them. "I guess that's somewhat interesting," Persona thought, but perhaps they actually didn't find Joey that interesting. But that aside, Persona did feel a sense of something just off about Joey, a sense that they have never gotten up until now. What would Joey do to them?

Putting that sudden sense of dread aside, Persona tried to figure out what they could do to change the situation... maybe turn the raft into an actual functioning boat? That was an option, but Persona didn't know what could happen if they tried to change the boat when they and Joey were on it; they certainly didn't think pushing Joey into the water was an option, because that feeling of dread told them that if they did that, Joey would most definitely not be pleased at all with the god. Oh well, if Persona wanted to get to shore, then they'd certainly need a good boat for starters. Persona tried their best to change the raft to reflect their needs, and the raft did eventually transform into a functioning boat.

Joey seemed to take notice of the boat's sudden shift... oh. Was that really a good idea, Persona?

Kaine Arkanus PicklePantry

Ark stood in the raft, golden eyes watching the other passenger with bemusement. "Incredible," he muttered more to himself than to them. "Your glare is filled with irritation and boredom. I don't need to look into your memories to know that you're trying very hard to come off as nonchalant, aren't you? Mysterious? A wild card? I'd suggest picking one before acting it out. Although maybe you shouldn't, you're painfully obvious no matter what."
He turned to gaze at the seemingly endless stretch of water from all directions. "I suppose it's not the worst, being stuck with you. I'd rather someone that's pretending to be dull than someone pretending to be helpful. A desire for praise disguised by blatantly false kindness seems to infect everyone. I'll take off their pitiful masks one by one if I have to."
Ark paused as he noticed something floating off the edge of his vision. Several objects, actually, and all ones that shouldn't be around them let alone floating. Ah. Illusions. To get a rile out of him?
"Pitiful."

Foie Gras Milkman

Foie Gras knew how to fly, but the predicament of how he managed to get stuck on a raft was a completely different case. His first plan was being able to fly away from this intimidating figure near him but instead the poor duck somehow broke one of his little wings! Foie Gras just sat there at the corner of the wooden raft, looking at this serpent fellow just inches by him. The surface was small,  making it packed for the both of them. With a broken wing, he was almost rendered useless, hoping that Nathair wouldn't eat the little one. The whole time was quiet. Of course, it was because the duck was incapable of talking.

Foie wanted to cure this silent treatment between them. He began to quack out the song to Chicken on a Raft.

Almandina Soul-Heart

The fusion peered over the edge of the raft, curiously staring at her distorted reflection in the water. She didn't remember how she got in the raft or where the duck came from, but she didn't mind. There was only one thing bugging her. How were they going to get back to land?

"Hey... Uh... Mr. Duck? Why haven't you flown away yet? And do you know where we are?" She asked calmly.

The duck just stared at her blankly. She then sighed in embarrassment. Why'd she just ask a duck for help? It's not like he could answer her...

Marin circlejourney

"Trapped! Now I beg to differ, on a raft we are far from trapped--I daresay we could hardly be freer! Now wouldn't you agree, my good sparkling madam? Or, goddess, or whatever you be?"

Already, Marin has whipped her coat off her back and is fashioning a small sail out of it, knotting a sleeve around the foremost log of the raft. Unperturbed by the unprecedentedly unusual appearance of the being aboard the raft with her—putting it off to yet another oceanic oddity, God knows she has seen too many of those to find such sights any more interesting than a red sunrise—she hands the corner of the coat to Almandine. It is quite evident by this point that Marin has no intention at all of sailing this raft in the direction of the shore, let alone homeward.

"Now, if you'll make yourself useful and raise that corner about three feet high, we should have lift in no time!" She clicks her tongue at Almandine's protests. "Don't you go telling me a deckhand's work is beneath you. I saw you levitating that leaf, you know this would be no trouble to you if you just put your mind to it." Lifting a hand to shelter her gaze, she looked out at the horizon with a beam. "There's so much ocean left to sail, and what better way than to take it on in a raft of dubious origin and make? Onward!"

 TK-17 Arkhangelsk Ledokol

Well, they said they would give him a chance to return to the sea again, after a decade of being 'retired' and confined in the territory of the shipyard he was born. Without hesitation he was eager to grab that opportunity...but what now? Never in his wildest idea that he'd ever think he'd be on a shabby wooden raft, out in the middle of ocean. Psssttt...it's already quite a miracle this raft could withstand his weight, which is roughly a ton. But before anything else...he's not quite sure what to make of of his 'sailing companion'. The energetic lady in red coat...whose ambition of sailing, enthusiasm and...he thinks it's called 'optimism'? All of them are far too big for the size of 'vessel' they're on.

The heavily built submarine android just sits in the middle of the raft, ignoring the calls from Marin to help setting sail. He frowns and growls back at her,"Listen, lady. That last thing you want is for me to roam around randomly and mess with the balance of this raft. I weigh about a ton, I can easily make this raft capsize if I shift my weight off the center."

Of course, being assigned to the naval force before, sailing enthusiasts are nothing strange to him. However, current situation right here is completely unlike most. After all, SHE is the one who needs all the necessaries that's considered 'hassle' - food, fresh water, sleep and possibly even medicine if she somehow comes down with something. Him? Other than refueling with Uranium-235 every five year, he doesn't quite need anything - not food, not sleep and certainly not staying hydrated. Continuing to observe his 'raft mate', from her overly excited expression...Arkhangelsk wonders if she realizes how dire the situation could be if something ever goes wrong? What if they don't encounter any rain for the entire month? Where would they get fresh water from? And instead what if they face a hurricane? He shakes his head...optimism is one of the things that make humans irrational in comparison to androids.

"Hold it, we need to sit down and plan a survival measure before anything else! While I don't need food and fresh water, don't expect me to produce fresh water out of thin air for you! Hold your horse...or in this case...maybe raft down, lady! Oh, silent!! It's not time to retort that I'm a boring folk! Adventure into the unknown without backup strategy is basically a suicide!" Ah well, he just yells at her now. His temper is never known for being under control easily.

...Why on earth does he need to argue with a civilian? He could just escape this situation by dropping himself off the raft and dive back ashore...but meh. If only they were on a sturdy ship, he wouldn't care about this sail-crazy lady at all but a raft like this...? For once, he tries to behave according to his designated duty - calculating and rational. Yet no matter how he calculates from what data available in his inorganic brain, survival chances are pretty low. Although he doesn't know which state this lady is a citizen of...whatever, unless she's openly hostile toward the nation he serves, he can't simply leave her to die in the middle of the sea. That just goes against the 'value' programmed into androids, even warfare ones during peace time.

Robi Tribal CaptainRobi

Robi sneered at the individual, he happened to be stricken onboard with. It's pretty much a smiliar ordeal for Robi, whom was used to the whole 'survival in the wilds', only this time, it was a mere simple raft.

While tending to his wristpad to send a distress call, he looked at TK-17 with a glare  in his eye.

"Until we find a way back to where we come from, times likes this comes to depending on each other. Luckily, I know my A-Z in robotics so if you try any funny business, I'll EMP ya and turn you into my personal coffee machine. Got that?"

He examined the android from head to toe.

"So you're a submarine robot huh, for starts ya can help propel this raft to dry land with whatever you use for propulsion alright?" He asked.
