Day 1 - Coral Reef

Chrys looks at the box his guest presented to him. "Ah, what is it?" He asks a bit suspiciously as he shakes it gently. His guest urges him to open it pleased with themself for this impressive and fantastic gift, or so they insist. He gently opens the lid to see a piece of broken and dead coral resting in the folds of the satin lined the box.

"Oh." He says, staring down at it. "Ah, thank you." He purses his lips together. "I don't know what to say."

The guest goes on about how the shape of the 'plant' reminded them of his horns and the color was reminiscent of his gems and on and on comparing Chrys to it.

Chrys sits listening to his guest prattle on before closing the lid of the box and standing up. "Ah yes well I think that is all I have in me today. I appreciate the gesture but your time is up. I look forward to seeing you in the future."

His guest pouts a little before removing themself from his room.

Once alone Chrys looks back in the box and the battered branch of a once living and vibrant creature. His own comparisons of himself to it filling his mind and making his head spin. "How lovely." He murmurs to himself before closing the lid once again and placing the box high on a shelf with all the other nearly unwanted gifts given to him by other guests, each with their own misconceptions and poor comparisons.

He glares at this wall of physical compliments wondering if the givers truly were aware of their ineptitude. The Coral sticks in his mind though. It was almost the most correct representation of himself and he wonders if he should unpack that all now or if he should just place those thoughts figuratively back on the shelf as well. Considering that for a few more seconds he decides that line of thought should most definitely stay well away in a cute little box on the shelf in his mind, never to be looked at again much like the coral.
