Day 12 - Royalty

“If there is one thing about Royalty that I know anything about, it was that they were so out of touch with their people that it was laughable at best. Despite their best efforts even. There was nothing they could do to change it either. It wasn't their fault, some of the time, Non-Royalty just treat Royalty *differently*. That was just how it is.

“Like managers and employees. Employees act in ways around their managers that they don't around other ‘common’ people. It's a rank thing you know, no getting past it.

“The only way for Royalty to connect with their people is to be People themselves. Now most won't do that. It's far too beneath them. Which is of course part of the problem. But the few that do, seem to have a much better grasp on how things actually work.

“Now, hear me out, but what if we go about it the opposite way?

“You know, have a regular person be a Royal?

“I think that doing that via something like oooh I don't know maybe a lottery type thing? Once a year or so for like a week Some Common Person can come in and participate in the royal stuff for like a week.
“So that maybe through this program the two groups, royal and non royal, can start to blend and connect and hopefully get along! It could be like Jury duty! You don't even have to sign up. just boom a notice in the mail being like "Hi! you have to come to the Core this Friday! Don't worry about your job, you'll get paid!" or something like that. Real work in progress with that one.

“I really think it's a good idea. What do you all think?" Solomon looks expectantly at the stunned group of students before him, waiting to hear the cheers and clapping of his ingenious plan.

A student in the back of the class raises their hand hesitantly. "AH! yes you there, what say you?"

"Ah, Sir, who are you again? And where is Miss Nerissa? This is supposed to be Oceanic Incantations? Right?" The student looks around at the other students, some nodding in agreement, others still stunned over this strange man coming in ranting about royalty.

Solomon looks around, "Oh, well." He clears his throat. "Ah well, if that is what you'd care to learn about then..." He trails off awkwardly. "I'll uh... Hm." He gathers his papers up to go find a more suitable audience to discuss this new program.
