For prompt #5 - As time has passed, has your bean changed the way in which they see themselves? Have they learned self-love, how to forgive their past self, or have they grown to fear or hate part of what they are?
Prompt 5
Unapologetic. That's the word Necco would choose to describe how she's been lately.
Growing up, Necco was always a good kid - never talking back, never stepping out of line. She was called a good kid, but really, more than anything, she was scared. Scared of herself, scared of what people might do or say if she acted on her whims; even for relatively small stuff: manners of speech, hobbies, interests. She didn't want to be seen as weird, so instead she chose not to be seen at all.
She used to fear and hate the parts of her she, under the pressure of those around her, deemed "weird" or "abnormal." She believed every rule was there for a reason, even if she didn't understand it. Now, she finds herself more of the mindset that some rules are, in fact, pointless, and really don't need to be there. She doesn't see the point, anymore, in repressing parts of herself just because others will find them strange or off-putting.
That's not to say she has no self-control; even now, she finds herself holding back some things, because that's all she's ever done for as long as she can remember; like subconsciously clenching your jaw because that's where your body stores all of its tension. Whenever she notices this, if the situation calls for it (which she finds, is more often than not) she'll allow herself to cut loose a bit, and stop being so high-strung all the time like she was before.
Some might say her girlfriend Aries has been a bad influence on her, but from Necco's perspective, Aries is the best thing that's ever happened to her. Even if not everything she does is perfectly good or justified or moral anymore, damnit, Necco can actually let herself have fun and be herself.
