S2, Ep3 - Intro - Embers of Palpitation

Work is starting back again after the long holiday break. You and your teammates have been ordered to come to briefing, just as normal when you get new assignment (usually). The briefing room this time though is the largest auditorium, with a stage set up and rows of seats placed out in front of it. Hm. 

Ari | Syd 🔥 Ryder 🐀 Babs 🌟

Syd walked into the room and eye narrowed at the wave of seats. He flopped in the closest one towards the front, sitting on the edge to spite anyone who wants to climb over him. (Insert possible Caitlyn there too)

Ryder shuffled in and, when finding a spot, started flipping through her notes.

Babs has a brother and a fish. She's there somewhere with one of them. Im tired

✨ Blue | Wisty 🌇 Thistle 🌺 

Wisty walks in with Romeo, arm looped through his, and squints a bit at the stage. "...Are we getting another concert or what?"

Thistle lingers near the entrance for a moment before ghosting her way over to the side, out of the way until someone she knows well enough comes in.

Romeo comes in with Wisty, hands in pockets and already not amused by the layout.

Natsumi strolls in with their three headaches and looks around for Broccoli, to huddle and sit next to them.

Mirror walks in and takes a seat wherever she finds first.

Ash is bouncing into the auditorium, looking around to figure out where (who) they wnt to sit (with).

Lethe chooses the seat in the back.

Iseul doesn't wait for anybody. Seat is somewhere in the middle.

Alex got excited just from walking in, wondering if they'd be getting another mini concert like they did the year before. If not, he couldn't really imagine what they'd need the big stage for.

Frank was anxious at the change, getting the vibes of a seminar in here. Hes just following Babs while looking around. She's at least easy to find color wise.

Cami's not paying attention in the slightest. He spent most of the previous night looking up shit in old books and on his phone, so hes a bit irritable. (shocker)

Teaiu | Jarno🌲Nera👼 

Jarno remembers the last time they were in the auditorium for a briefing, and it ended up with them trekking across the US babysitting a bunch of popstars from vampire family drama. He hopes this mission is not as exhausting as that one. He takes a seat at the back row.

Nera skips into the auditorium room, excited! Maybe they're going to get a fun presentation! She takes a front seat like she always does.

Ash | David 🌻 Jedediah 🌾 

Jedediah is herded to the auditorium by Kseniya, and quietly takes a seat next to her.

David heads in with the boys, heading for the front of the auditorium.  When he spots Natsumi heading their way he gives them a wave!

Caitlyn finds her seat with Syd, looking pumped and ready to get back to work. Leans over to her boyfriend “..soo about 50/50 chance we get another concert.”

Lana walks in and grab a seat in the middle.

Jacks following behind Babs and her roomie. He waves to any friends he spots walking in!

Mialani walks in alone, a little earlier than she usually would. She seems to have a bit of a sad or upset air about her, but she's doing what she can to hide it behind a neutral expression. Upon realizing the briefing room was in a different location, she questioned why but didn't say anything. Rather, she sat somewhere and went straight to looking at her phone.

Ivy came in and moved to a side to allow room for people to fill up seats before she's maybe sit down. She's big and doesn't wanna be in the way, though she does look around to find people she might know.

Ash shimmies over to sit next to Alex, smiling brightly!!

Judas wonders over following some people in. seeing the seats he sighs- no hiding in the corner this time I guess. He looks around for a second spots Mia and goes over to sit with her.

Auran walks in with Jiemba and David! He sits down and looks around to see if he can spot the rest of his friends. He spots Natsumi and pats the spot next to him for them to sit!

Leslie comes in with Sushi and goes to sit down closer to the back of the auditorium.

Jess comes in with Natsumi, but once they leave she shrugs and goes to find Leslie and Sushi instead.

"I like to think we get a ted talk about how we need to be more loving friendly with our co workers." Syd puts an arm around her and grins. "We're gonna do trust falls off the stage."

Natsumi goes over and takes a seat!

Alex playfully bumps into them, smiling back. "Are you ready!"

Esme makes their way over a little early, finding a spot near the front. They look a little tired but otherwise are ready to take a million notes.

Sushi came in with Leslie and looks. Disinterested. The moment they find a seat he's getting his phone out and watching TikToks on low volume. Sorry everybody.

Bones is, surprisingly, here for once! It is hovering at the back of the room, thankful that auditoriums are. large.

Leslie is looking over at Sushi's phone.

Wisty waves at Esme as she pulls Romeo to sit somewhere.

Thistle spots Jedidiah and gives him a lil nod before pattering over to sit by Lethe.

Mialani glances at who sat next to her. Noticing it was Judas, she gave him a small smile but didn't say anything.

Jiemba stepped into the auditorium, looking about the room, he waves Natsumi over to take a SEAT also!! "So we have another stage huh?" He rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Kseniya stepped in with her roommate, glancing about and easily finding a place to sit. her eyes catch sit of Ivy and she waves her over!

Ryder wiggles over to Esme. Sits and does a tiny wave as hello before ... back to notes. Honey is glaring though.

Babs has sat between Jack and Frank, holding BOTH their hands and kicking her feet as she waits for cool event stuff.

"I think so! This set up seems a lil nicer then the other missions where we just got thrown on the plane, at least-!" He laughs a bit and gently looks around to wave at their friends.

Jedediah spots her and gives a nod and small smile back to thistle as she scurries off!

Judas gave a small smile back noticing the subdued aura he puts an arm around the seat in silent support “good to see you princess”

Esme waves back to Wisty and thus probably did not see Ryder approach. Jumps a little when they turn back around and are no longer alone. Hi Honey do not murder them.

Franks hand is being gripped onto, and he's trying to not think about it.

Jack’s still looking around for a certain pink haired friend, shooting him a big grin and waves when he spots him

Spare steps in and has a small internal battle over where to sit. Just gonna sit down next to Lethe with just a seat between 'em. Good middle ground between being social and playing it safe, he thinks.

"That would be fun!!! What a way to start work again after the holidays!!!" Ash stretches back in their seat as they wave to Wisty!

Lethe waves and nods to Spare as he sits next to her.

Mialani smiles a bit brighter but just nods to Judas, relaxing a bit. She leans back in her seat. Sorry Judas, your arm is a head rest now.

As everyone gets seated, Carlos Spectre comes out onto the stage, looking... well. Slightly worse than usual but not that out of depth. No faking a smile though. "Hello everyone... we've been requested to assist with a matter similar to one you've handled in the past.... and it seems it may overlap a bit with our current goals as well. But... before we go into the details, the request maker would like to... surprise you with something." and he steps aside, off the stage as the lights dim, and red and blue flashing lights turn on on the stage as fake smoke puffs up.

From the fake smoke, the sillouhette of tall, wolf earred figures slowly emerges. The music rises as a certain familiar face stares at them all from the large stage.

AHP stands before them to perform, Jamie trying hard not to grin as he focuses on the performance. The entire stage is filled with red light spilling over the group while working the stage like any concert; positioned in a way that they could all be closer to the front as most were curious to see Jamie's friends.

A very excited "YO JAMIE" yelled from where Romeo and Wisty are sitting.

Ah. Esme respects the energy but regrets sitting at the front of the audience. Loud. Oh shit! Sushi puts their phone away and vibes. This is the best mission briefing so far. Bones watches.

Lethe jumps, surprised as the smoke comes up and Jamie appears. It's not an unpleasant surprise though.

Iseul's eyebrows raise and he hums along.

Aaaannndddd Auran's fangirl screaming comes out! He's up and squealing and giggling and flailing his arms. Cracking out the glowsticks.

Jess wrinkles her nose. Ok cool music but why is everyone screaming and why does it stink of wet dog in here.

Jedediah JUMPS and slams into the back ofthe seat, staring wide-eyed at this explosion of color and noise.  He's gripping his chest and looking like he might be having an existential crisis.

Well. At least the music genre is more tolerable this time. And they know the artist better. Jarno is kinda okay with this.

Nera is starstruck. She's never been to a concert other than at church. The power of the music washes over her as she watches intently, forgetting to close her mouth."Wow," she just says quietly, drowned out by the music.

Wisty pats Romeo's arm as apology for the volume, but is still bouncing in her seat a lil bit.

Thistle blinks. Concert is loud....but Jamie....but loud.......

Kseniya glances at the CONCERNED VAMP MAN, "Are you having problem? Do you want ear plugs? Do you want to leave?"

"Wh-uh n-" He glances around at the other people vibing before looking back with a concerned expression.  "N-naw that's quite alright you uh just, you just enjoy the uh, the music."  He pats Kseniya's arm and slowly looks back to the stage.  This is fine! He can vibe to this! This is normal!

Mia's mood shifts to more happy once she sees Jamie just casually performing!"Oh my god-" she smiles brightly. "Jamieee!!" She's cheering!

Ivy is uncomfortable with the loud noises and doesn't know what's going on- she covers her ears and just waits for the performance to finish.

"I am not enjoying."

"Great question, no idea! I'm gonna kick his ass when this is over." Syd's laughing as he jives with this.

Ryder is fangirling but keeping it contained for Esme's sake. Only a little. The resolve is weak and she's squealing.

Babs is covering her ears. no.

"Oh, hm." He nods slowly, clearing his throat.  Maybe not everyone is vibing.  "Just ah, n-not quite used to the uh, noise I suppose.  And the lights."  He's squinting a bit as he looks at stage, even while wearing the glasses, trying to look past the lights at the people.

Spare is... not too surprised at it being another concert, is surprised to see Jamie again with the whole band, and is generally vibing and taking the moment to relax despite the noise. Is more amused watching his co-workers reactions to all this.

As the concert comes to an end, the rest of the members give themselves a little cheer and wave at their audience while Jamie steps forward with the mic. "Well- feels really weird being on the other side of this but guess I'm explaining it-" He clears his throat and looks at his manager off to the side. "So to put brief, AHP is still on tour and we're heading to Brazil next.. The police at our location, though, gave us a heads up warning that there's been a lot of werewolf disappearances lately, and seeing as we're a freshly outed occult band that's a little concerning so... we called Spectre Corps."

Jedediah blinks slowly.  "Brazil? Ain't that on the other side of....oh lord do I gotta cross that ocean again..."

"... Why are we always going to the southern hemisphere when it's summer there and winter here..... please.... I'm not built for the heat..." Leslie murmurs.

Jess is making a face at the idea of smelling wet dog the entire time this goes on.

There is an ominous feeling over in the artificery at the mention of Brazil.

Carlos steps back onto stage next to  Jamie. "Yes.. The Brazil sector sent us over reports after we were made aware, and there's been an alarming amount of werewolf disappearances in the area, some turning up dead. There's been no hate groups or claims of responsibility though, and the bodies recovered only show signs of some extreme violence... which is why we believe this could also overlap into what you've been working on over the last several months. Your primary goal is to both keep AHP safe, and second, continue your investigation into the demons under Beezlebub. Michael's angel operatives have been in the area over the last week or so, keeping an eye out for demonic energy and activity and will connect with you about their findings after you've settled in Porto Alegre."

Esme notices the barely contained fangirling and gives Ryder a fond look. Once the music is over though they focus back in and start taking notes, trying not to think too hard about the violence and who could be behind it.

Sushi pulls a face "Aw, we didn't just get concert for free?"

Bones does not know where Brazil is, but is concerned about the news of disappearances. Not that you can really tell when it has like four facial expressions.

Jedediah gives a small nod.  Kinda wishing he'd just stayed on that side of the planet for another two weeks.

Wisty laughs, calling "More notice than we usually get!!" To Jamie.

Alright Auran's excitement over the concert is over. Dead werewolves is not a good sign. At all. He definitely looks highly concerned. ... He reaches down to pat Natsumi's back.

"Oooh Brazil? Fun!" Mialani is back to her smiling self, mostly due to being distracted by what's bothering her. But once the mention of werewolf killings was announced, she frowned."Geez thats sad... oh 17 hrs?" She sighs.

Ivy doesn't know what to comment. But she does sigh at how long they'll be in a plane..."I do not like the plane rides..."

Judas just sighs. It’s fine he will simply perish… “that’s going to fucking suck-“

Despite the bit of excitement at the brief song and all, Jiemba sobered up pretty quickly hearing the news. Right, back to work they go. "Indeed we are--" Jiemba is patting Natsumi's head.

Kseniya hummed, pleased to actually get some ANSWERS. So they were going Brazil? And actually had some time to pack. "It is alright, I will provide you with reading, and relaxing musical selections"

Cat nudges Syd with an elbow “hey at least it’ll be warm— and we get to kick Jamie’s ass when we land.”

Carlos sighs "If there are no more questions, you're free to go get packed and get anything in order before you leave. You'll receive more details about your flight and location and mission to your watches."

Jedediah turns back to gives a small smile.  "ah, much appreciated."  He's not sure what kind of music Kseniya listens to but he'll be better prepared this time!

Wisty stands up and gives a im gonna fuckin get you later point at Jamie, before tugging on Romeo's hand to go start packing. 

Thistle gives Lethe a lil staticky pat and walks out through the wall. She'll say hi to Jamie later bye.

Leslie lays their head on their knees. They have so much shit to pack. All their clothes are in disarray still. They have no travel bag ready. Girl help. They're gonna have to rush so much to get everything ready.

Ash gets up and contemplates something really quick, before deciding to go up to Jamie and ask for a quick 'welcome back hug' before heading to go pack!!! 

Lethe leans her head down a bit for the pet and reaches to give one back before heading to go get ready herself.

"Then let us pack, yes?" She stands to her feet, turning to Ivy, "We will see you later"

The bands getting packed up cause they also have a flight to catch but most of AHP is still waving and trying their best to embarrass Jamie. Jamie turns to answer the others, ignoring the idiots behind him. "Uh, well we can't do an encore here cause we gotta get to our concerts location ASAP, but! If I can I was gonna offer you all to actually go to the concert if SC allows..." Hes also returning that hug with a squeeze, hi Ash~
